My TWH filly had a unique issue with her hock - a subchondral bone deformity. My vet recommended that we take her to Alamo to have Dr. Judy take a look to see what the exact prognosis would be. My filly unfortunately needed surgery in order to fix the problem. However, although the surgery was deemed to be very difficult and there was a large possibility that "fixing" the bone deformity may not be possible due to the location, but Dr. Judy was up for the challenge and confident that the reward outweighed the risks. My baby girl was taken care of and her surgery was a success! She is now 4 months post op and thriving. I appreciate Dr. Judy's honesty and laying out the facts without giving me any fluff. He's an excellent surgeon and I wouldn't trust anyone else to perform a surgical operation on any of my horses but him!

First off my horse had some new bumps all over his neck, I called in and talked to Dr. Kerr, they were super busy with a emergency so she gave me her phone number and told me to send her photos of it and she would get back to be with what she recommended soon as she could, I sent the photos and she immediately responded and explained they could be hives from flys and that to keep them clean and monitor them and if not gone in a day or so to come in, I came in on Saturday and Dr. Herthel came out and gave him a steroid shot and sent home some anti inflammatory powder for him wnd he's back to normal now. Dr. Kerr then messaged me checking up on him the following day, I just want to say that she went above and beyond helping me out wnd I will continue to bring my horses in and request her or Dr Herthel as he was super cool and helpful as well! It's nice feeling that they truly do care about helping you and your animals! Great service thanks to both Dr. Kerr and Dr Herthel for all you guys do!

The entire team is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the PPE process so easy and they had great availability in their schedule. The vet was great to communicate with and prices are great for services provided.

I had a fairly typical injury where my horse caught his leg in the fence and had some basic cuts around the corona band and a few up the leg plus swelling. It didn't heal and got worse to where my vet said it appears to be related to lack of circulation and an infection (despite local antibiotics). He felt I should take my horse 5 hours away to Alamo Pintado and have Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy. Dr. Byrnes (veteran veterinarian), Isabela (veterinarian who assisted Dr. Byrnes) and Alfredo (the Hyperbaric Chamber Technician for over 20 years) all worked tirelessly on my horse to get him well. I saw tremendous improvement within days. I cannot say enough nice things about these folks! Also, I had to leave my horse and got updates so far, daily from Dr. Byrnes with pictures to show the progress. Suffice it to say, I'm sleeping much better now. Still getting daily updates a week later!

Wonderful people to work with in a horse buying experience! I bought a horse sight unseen from 20 hours away and worked through Alamo Pintado to get a prepurchase exam and a health certificate done. They were very pleasant on the phone and professional in how they handled the remote situation. Dr. Stevenson was very thorough in his prepurchase and gave me his honest opinion (always appreciated) and was great about answering all my questions. Britney and Lauren were both he

Long over due review... I've been using Alamo for years even though they are 2.5/3 hours from where I live. They are always my go to for medical advice with my performance barrel horses, whether it be an emergency or just picking the Dr's brains. Dr. Rick has been amazing for lameness evals as well as bone surgeries/issues. Dr. Byrne also took great care of our horses when they had random colic/toxin symptoms (ate something in our hay that made them sick). And most recently Dr. Stevenson was amazing when my colt had complications from castration (castration not done by them). They are always helpful, available and attentive. Office staff is always wonderful to deal with as well. I feel pricing is also very reasonable, I recently had an emergency bill from a different SoCal hospital and it was almost double what Ive paid at Alamo for separate hospitalizations. They are always my go to!

Had to say good bye to my 30 year old gelding. The clinic was the best possible scenario to end his life. The care and compassion made a sad day a little easier and I knew he was in good hands with Dr Hamer. Thank you to them all!

This is my first yelp review ever and it is definitely for good reason. My boyfriend and I are in the process of purchasing our first horse, and with that I'm sure many of you can relate that it is an incredibly stressful decision to make and a huge decision to make. The horse we were looking at purchasing is an off the track thoroughbred and he is such a doll, we were in love the moment we saw his videos. However, I know from my past in riding that OTTB's are commonly prone to problems that can affect them later, we had the amazing privilege of having such an incredible seller that she recommended this clinic and wow from the first phone call setting up the PPE the whole staff was so immensely patient and offered so many helpful tidbits about everything we had questions about and their expertise and the calm, collected, friendly, and professional way they performed eased so much of our first horse anxiety and jitters! For that I'm so grateful! Dr. Hamer was very thorough in his explanations on what he saw during the PPE and went into detail and explained things further as needed which was such a big help in us deciding we were going to continue with our purchase! The prices are so reasonable, you would think somewhere as great as this clinic would cost a fortune and be for the olympians, but it was very affordable and the help and kind atmosphere is worth every last cent. Thank you Alamo Pintado for your staff and for helping us feel secure in purchasing our new family member and companion! I *highly* recommend this place to anyone, novice to expert for their horse's needs. If we lived in California this would be our vet hands down! So pleased with this experience! Attached is a photo of our new happy boy who was a ham at the clinic as we were told :)
