My wife and I ate dinner at Pico. Our cocktails were both excellent. Using a clear ice cube would bring the quality up a notch however. All of the food we had was also very good and worth the price. In particular, the cauliflower appetizer was outstanding. The service on this night was lacking. I wonder if our waiter was new. He was clearly not knowledgeable/confident in his description of the food when reviewing the menu and specials. Courses did not come out correctly spaced. When we asked for the check, the waiter had to come back to ask us which glasses of wine we had previously ordered. Overall, I would return.

Pico was one of the best dining experiences we've had on the central coast. We compared the menus of all the dining options in Los Alamos and thought Pico's was what we were looking for that evening. The ambiance was lovely- not too loud, music just the right volume, perfect lighting. The food was excellent. I love a restaurant that can take a humble vegetable and turn it into something delectable. The winter risotto was out of this world. All the wait staff were wonderful- so professional, kind and attentive. We will definitely be returning!

I was so excited to try this place because of the ambiance but left disappointed as the prices aren't worth what you get, our server was not attentive, and the wait times for our meals were very long. The wait times plus the dim lighting had my partner and I fighting for our lives against sleep. I want to say we were there for a total of ~3 hours, which rendered us unable to do anything for the rest of the night. Unfortunately because of these things, I would not recommend this restaurant. I want to say maybe it was an off night because it was Valentine's Day but it wasn't very busy. We ordered the bread ($10), rabbit carnitas ($20), Pico burger ($26), and the dry aged New York steak ($48). No tiny loaf of bread (it was a little bigger than my fist) is worth $10 and I wish the description or the server would have told us it was loaded up with olives because I am not the biggest fan. The rabbit carnitas were really good but only included 2 tacos, which is typical pricing for the area but made me feel a bit robbed since I know it doesn't cost much at all to make that plate. The profit on it must be crazy. The burger was unevenly cooked (some bites were even raw), it was quite dry and needed a sauce of some sort, and there were too many onions that once again, ranged in how much they were cooked. The bites that were cooked medium rare were good but still dry. The fries that came with it were very tasty and addicting. The steak plate... That was the biggest disappointment. It was plated beautifully but the steak was tiny and unevenly cooked (most of it was not medium rare like I asked), the potatoes were pretty dry and bland, and the sweet potatoes were terrible. Oh, those sweet potatoes were probably the worst sweet potatoes I've ever had. The cab also had a funky smell and aftertaste that would not leave my tongue. Lastly, the service: Our server checked on us twice at most (one of the times I was not even there so I was unable to ask for anything) in 3 hours, not including taking our initial order and bringing the check. I mean, she wouldn't even shoot a glance our way. We kept trying to get her attention and failing and were left asking other servers for help. I actually had to get up and walk across the restaurant to the bar once. It was really frustrating, especially having worked as a server in the past and seeing how often she was chatting to coworkers. You should really check on your tables more often than that, especially at a nicer restaurant.

Beautiful late 1800s building with lots of stories and awesome staff. An extensive wine a liquor selection and food that was amazing and unique. Definetly try the Black cod chowder and the Pico burger! We left completely satisfied from here.

Everything was delicious and we were here for restaurant week was very affordable prices and delicious meal! The service was attentive, and the ambience was beautiful and historical. The menu was just diverse enough to tickle your senses, and hold me enough to give you a taste of something you would like on any menu. Highly recommend, even though you may feel that you are entering a dustbowl era it is very much a gem.

Every time I walk past Pico or want to go eat at Pico I look at the menu.... Not even one thing sounds appealing and I leave. Every time I've been forcefully dragged or have had to eat there.... I get why people love it. After all of my sighs, eye rolls, grunts, and honesty toward my dinner mates "I'm always dramatic, I never want to eat here, and whenever I do it's amazing." Yes, it is amazing. Go roll your eyes to the back of your head like me, and then be in awe of how good it is. I went here for restaurant week. Check out these photos! Oysters, short ribs, dessert, and the beautiful cocktails that the ladies and I ordered. $40 dollars for the meal, cocktails not included, guys you have to go check this place out. Super wow. Sorry Pico, I don't know why I always judge. Ya got me again! everything was outstanding.

I ordered the mussels (with shells and in broth) delicious! BUT had to pay $7 for a small piece of bread to go with! Ridiculous!

Apologies for not taking a picture, the food was too delicious and we forgot! Beautiful restaurant, really unique and delicious food. So many of the ingredients are fresh from the garden. Recommend getting a table outside in the garden. Even easy to get a table!Kid-friendliness: Lots of space and a good environment for the family

Delicious food! Unique flavors& textures that aren't found on most menus. Impeccable service with perfect timing of the courses. The restaurant is a wonderful restoration of the antique space. This is a tasting meal don't expect hearty portions or the need for a "to-go" container.

We were staying in town in Los Alamos for the first time. There are only a few restaurants in the area and I had no idea what to expect when I walked in here. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The cocktails were unique and they have a great wine list. I ordered the Apples and Honey cocktail which was good. I also ordered the Lumen library flight since I wanted to try some local wines. We had the burrata and the citrus crudo for appetizers which were really good. For an entree I ordered the Winter Risotto was very good. Our server Misty was great as well. If you're in the area this is a great place to have a good meal.

If you're looking for something different this is the place for you. There's something on the menu for everyone. We eat out a lot, and I was looking forward to coming here after reading the reviews and looking over the menu. Everything was as expected, except the portions. We ordered 10 items off the menu and every one of them was 1/2-1/4 the size one would expect. $400 later and I'm gonna stop at IN N OUT and grab a burger on the way home.

Just fantastic! Wonderful historic space… but so spacious and beautifully decorated. Superb service. Fabulous extensive wine list, both local and global. Take advantage of the somm, Case; his recs were very useful. And the food… delicious, creative, plentiful! Gorgeous presentation. The Spanokopita from the owner’s grandmother’s recipe was the best I’ve ever had. Light and perfectly seasoned. The rabbit carnitas were simultaneously evocative of a traditional taquito and a fancy rabbit dish. The braised short rib in polenta was cooked perfectly and SO good with the Lumen Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir from Santa Maria. This is a destination dining experience and worth the drive and expense!

Pico was one of the best, if not the best, dining experience. Our server Misty was so sweet and server assistant Danny was on top of everything. Chef John was an artist. He was also very attentive and accommodating to our diet restrictions. Also, wine expert Kase was very helpful with helping us find exactly what we were looking for. Thank you everyone for making our night so special!Dietary restrictions: Vegan
