“Here I sit in Reno, CRAVING the Italian sandwich from Mad dog cafe. Questioning myself is 55 miles too far to go for lunch??! HahaMy fiancé and I drove past mad dog on our bi annual trip to hope valley to camp and made a note of it as we usually drive up through Tahoe and have never passed it before.On our trip out we always go through markleeville and we're saddened to see the closing of the deli in markleeville, we decided to drive home through Carson. And we were so very happy with our visit to Mad dog.The Italian was so tasty, soft fresh bread, mortadella, and the perfect amount of pickles. We bought some local honey right before cold season and a few other sundries. This place is a true gem. It is taking everything in me to not get in the car right now and drive an hour just for that damn sandwich. Thanks so much”

They carry a lot of essentials you'd need for a weekend in a cabin or camping beneath the stars, and they have a surprisingly good selection of alcohol. Super friendly staff, too.
