“I came in today for a pair of shoes and the staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful! Shoutout to Ariana for hyping me up, and even lacing my shoes! I am sure I'll be back in a few months for another pair.”

“The other reviews are very on par: get appointment and keep the receipt. I did not have an appointment so I had to wait two hours, but that's my own fault. In the meantime, you can browse for women and men's clothing. Helen is honest and in the zone with her work. She lets you try on dresses and will tell you her opinion on what she thinks looks good. She focuses on only two groups at a time, but does a great job since she is so concentrated. Time and cost: mine was $640 including tax, and takes 2.5 months until it arrives. She takes cash or Zelle. Then you do the fitting and wait 2 weeks for the alterations and receive the final product. You cannot haggle the price, but I argue that for the ability to fully customize and with nice fabric it's hard to beat. Language: She does speak English, but converses better in Mandarin. My family speaks Cantonese so it was harder to understand, but not too difficult. Size: I would say I'm a large in Chinese sizing but a medium in America. Many of the qipaos don't fit me here so if you're bigger than a medium it'll be harder to try on samples. She gave me a gift at the end for my wedding which was very sweet of her and gave many apologies for the wait. Summary: You could order online for a bit less on price, but you're sacrificing the customizing and ability to try different styles on. As long as you make an appointment and have some time before the event you're getting the dress for it's worth it!”

“The receptionist there is such a cutie. She has such a bubbly attitude and is more than willing to help to make sure your experience at Mujer Moderna is superior. It also does hurt that she's easy on the eyes if you know what I mean ;)The clothes are at a great price and the quality is top notch. I highly recommend.”

“I needed to get my wedding gown altered a month before the wedding. I took it to beautiful professional bridal shops and they didn't really know what to do with it. Out of desperation, I took it here (recommended by my aunt). Yes, I agree this place looks messy and it looks nothing like the fancy bridal alteration shops. But I was desperate and I didn't mind the drive. To my surprise, the boss lady did an excellent job. Not only did she work on my gowns, I took my husband's tux here too. I wanted it to be more fitted but most professional suit alteration places would not touch the shoulders (apparently you can ruin the suit if they mess it up). Luckily the boss lady used to make suits in China and it was a piece of cake for her! Took 2 fittings to make it fit PERFECTLY (plus another time they messed up the pick up date. We showed up and the suit was untouched) but I'm not complaining! PS. The people who wrote negative reviews didn't even look like they got any work done here. *rolling my eyes* if you consider yourself high maintenance, good for you but stay away from most Chinese places in San Gabriel valley ;)”

“Ravel is a clothing store in Monterey Park that has exceptional choices for both men and women across a wide range of apparel from sweaters, pants and dresses to shoes and accessories. With an emphasis on Korean designers the two sisters who founded the store have consistent tastes that provide value with a balance of affordable prices and unique and wearable styles. I am no fashion plate, quite the opposite. But the sweater I bought from Ravel (by a Korean designer named Vampire Weekend) has received more compliments than any other piece I've ever warn. And it's super comfortable. The Ravel staff is attentive and knowledeable too. I wish these young entrepreneurs all the luck in the world.”

“I love this place, my personal experience with the owner has been very positive. She was very friendly and even gave us a few free beauty masks, they weren't pricey but we appreciated the gesture. I was surprised because I had seen all these reviews and expected rudeness.”

“Elle boutiques was opened 30 years ago by my mom. She always had an eye for the pretty stuff ... fashion. Like most women I know they are just compulsive shoppers. Its an impulse from the hunter/gathering of early humans. The men go out ... whatever is in view ... dinner! The boutique has an international taste. Clothing comes from Milan on her seasonal trips to the fashion shows. Attention to detail like a Hong Kong tailor shop. She is an experienced seamstress and can help you fix hems that don't fit or add an extra flare to the outfit. There are kawaii styled shirts / sweaters to Fellini pinstriped out suits. A specialty boutique in a corner of Monterey Park with the regular people.”
