December 2023 by HELLO
The rudeness and abrasiveness of Dr. Cornejo's husband is unfortunately hurting her business. It is a shame, because Dr. Cornejo has always been kind and empathetic to both me and my animals, but I can no longer tolerate her husband's frankly rude and abrasive personality as the middle man to her services. I also don't feel comfortable handing over my pet to a man like that. Where is the tenderness??It didn't used to be this way when she had vet techs working in the office that helped free up her time. They were doing a lot of the things her husband has taken over, except they were polite. He seems unable to provide customer service beyond his very cut and dry manner. The last time I spoke with him, he was downright offensive. It seems he is only in it for the money, not the welfare of the animal.Dr. Cornejo is not like this, but you can't even get her on the phone anymore. If you call-it is her husband that answers and acts as the middle-man, relaying your concerns and injecting his own opinions into the conversation that he has no business doing. You are now lucky if you get a couple minutes to speak directly with her when you are there in person picking up your pet. You spend more time relaying information to and from her through her husband, than you get directly with her and it shouldn't be that way. It wasn't that way until they changed things a few years back. The best part of this business has always been the kindness and the compassion of Dr. Catherine Cornejo and the trust she imbibes to you in being confident in the care of your pet...and a big part of her amazing customer service relations has been lost and replaced by someone who just doesn't have that same magic and tenderness that she has. If I didn't have to deal with her cold and offensive frontman, in order to attain her services I would still be going to her, even though they are more expensive than most local vets. It was good while it lasted, now we must unfortunately find another establishment that actually treats customers with kindness and respect.

Nice place and love the doctor but, extremely over priced, and the husband is rude. It felt like all he cared about was the money not the care of the animal. I wouldn't deal with that ever again. He was extremely rude not just to me but to my daughter as well. For someone that is in customer service to treat people aggressively and rudely should not be in this kind of service. I wouldn't pay any amount of money to be treated that way. It's just not worth it.

My female 6 month old pup just recently got spayed here and Dr. Cornejo was absolutely excellent. Big shoutout and thank you'd to Dr. C and her husband Jose Rossi. ??☺

My grandparents have been going here for years and seemed to like the place. I however have always thought it overly expensive and strange that they force you to give cash on hand, ended up going to another place for my cat while my grandparents stayed with Animal Kingdom. Days ago we had an emergency visit for my grandparent's dog. In cash my grandparents had to fork over a thousand dollars for the tests. As far as I know no kind of payment plan is possible since they would not allow it when I'd brought my cat in before. We were told that the tests would be in the next day. My grandfather had to admit that this might be the last time that this much money can come from him. Which I think might be the reason behind the rest of this. It is now two days from then. We have not gotten a call back about the tests results. The dog cannot walk, is not eating, and we had to force water into his mouth to get him to drink anything; I had to make an emergency call to my vet to put this poor dog down. So as of now my vet made sure to go out of their way to help us out for a dog that they have never seen before while Animal Kingdom has not called my grandparent's back after taking that much money for an emergency. I don't know what my grandparents are thinking but I cannot forgive Animal Kingdom for being this way towards two elderly people on a strict budget who have been going to them for years.

I've taken my dogs to Dr. Cornejo for the past 20 years. She's simply the best there is. I left the area a few years ago, and I continue to return to Napa and Dr. Cornejo for any diagnostic, or procedural work needed. Indeed my dog needs surgery on a leg lipoma, and without question, I won't go to any other vet but Dr. Cornejo and will be driving hours to return to Napa for Dr. Cornejo to do this surgery. When it comes down to it, if you want the best care for your fur baby, Dr. Cornejo is the doc you want providing that treatment.

Of course they responded as expected. This "Kendra" person has never called me, I WAS told they do not accept handwritten receipts, AND as of 3/25 my claim has not been approved. In fact, I got another email saying I still have insufficient proof of payment. I was also not abusive, I simply said I was going to report them to the BBB - which I did and then the husband started yelling at me so yes, I hung up on him mid sentence. Sorry (not sorry), but I don't need to withstand abuse from your husband. #metoo My advice: get Quickbooks and fire your abusive husband. Update: I called PetsBest on 3/26 after getting yet another notice stating "there is not sufficient proof of payment" and the agent verified with me that they in fact DO NOT accept written receipts (due to fraud) and that after calling the vet on three different occasions in a three-week span, they finally were able to verify the payment from the Vet. While I consider this case closed, this could have been prevented by the vet simply either giving me a printed receipt (as does every reputable business on the planet) or returning PetsBest multiple calls in a timely manner.

These people don't care about your pet they just care about your money. In-laws took their dogs to them for years and when we thought we needed emergency surgery on our pet they were 100% assholes to us. Demanded we give them over 2 grand prior to performing a surgery that wasn't necessary . They would not settle for any type of payment option even though my in-laws were there and had been taking both their pets to them for years. We ended up leaving and taking our dog to the emergency vet, who pulled a chewed up toy out of my dogs butt. No surgery needed. The greed is strong with these people. Don't trust them.

Very professional, kind, and caring. I was looking for a last minute appointment to have our puppy that needed staples. She was able to get us in right away. We ended up having to make a second trip as a result of momma popping one of the staples. The second visit went just as great as the first! I'm very thankful for her services and kindness. If you're looking for a local vet, please stop by. I'll be transferring our other animals to Dr. Cornejo for future treatment.

WARNING CAUTION - Been to several vets in Napa. Go anywhere else but here. I phoned Napa Small Animal Hospital when I returned and they cared for me. Animal Kingdom is a husband and wife team, Catherine Cornejo is the vet, both are nasty, uncaring and unprofessional. Took my Cairn in for an allergy. The treatment that my dog and I received both socially and medically was worthless, they were mean with an attitude. The vet looked at her for 2 minutes, went into her office and sent her husband out to me with a bill of over $700. This was for bloodwork, 1 shot, 1 prescription of Apoquel, Nextguard and 2 lotions. I allowed the shot and pills and was charged $320. When I got home I called my friends vet. I asked for their prices, care for this kind of allergy and went over the symptoms and treatment. They were so kind and precise. I got more from that phone call than at Animal Kingdom. Prices were as follows. For one, the shot my dog received was for Cytopoint, Animal Kingdom charged $160 and Napa Small Animal Hospital charges $77, office call was $70, all others in Napa are $29 to $55 . If my dog and I were cared for, there would be no discussion of money. However the treatment was unnessesary, stress inducing and horrible for me and my dog.
