Thr staff at NRPH were amazing in helping me get my dog prepared for our move to Hawaii. Dr. Moody was so helpful in navigating us through everything as it was a very arduous process with the state of Hawaii paperwork. He laid everything we needed to do out, ensured we had all of the necessary items and made sure we submitted them on time. He even reached out to the HI Dept of Agriculture to ensure they received everything. With everything we had going on with moving he helped make moving our furbaby home so much easier. When I arrived in HI everything was taken care of and we just had to go through the final check up. It was pricey but well worth the money as he helped make Thr process easier for us. Thank you to the staff for all of your compassionate and hard work in helping us get our baby home.

Do not take your beloved pets to this horrible place. The staff here is incompetent, uncaring, and they are only concerned with making money. My dog was bleeding orally and rectally. They charged me over $600 to do tests. It has been three days and they still will not give me any test results as I’m supposed to wait for the original vet to come back.In order to get the test results, I was told that I would need to make an emergency appointment and pay for that very very expensive additional appointment. These people only care about money And have no compassion or caring whatsoever.

The main vet spent a lot of time googling the same things my wife had already - we were expecting a more professional opinion on our 5-week old orphaned kittens. Still, once he was done, he gave great advice and reassured us we were raising them well.

Veterinarian was very patient and answered all our questions. We never felt rushed or foolish. Everyone there seems to care about our pet - he wasn't just a number to them.

I took my cat here when he was very ill. They treated us promptly and gave us an appointment during their next available (the following day). When I brought him in for trouble eating/ drinking, lack of ability to urinate, and lethargy. I was initially told over the phone that he had a bladder crystal. That's what I thought too! But when I brought him in, other diagnoses were being thrown around as well. Scary things like feline HIV, leukemia, or coronavirus. All contagious & fatal to other cats. I was heartbroken and confused. I had only had this cat in my possession for ~5 months. He was tested for these diseases before I brought him home to my other babies and he was negative. All of my cats are strictly indoor. Upon his second visit, he was doing even worse. They were still insistent on these other diagnoses. His technician tried to convince me he was blind and was trying to poke his little eyes ! I work in people eye care and poking people's eyes is NOT how you diagnose blindness. I imagine it's not much different for animals. When I brought him home, I was convinced my little baby was going to pass away. I didn't want to give up on him. I love him too much. I took him in for a second opinion and he was taken in as an emergency walk in for an overnight stay at a Vet in Vallejo. I'm so happy to say that the other vet has him turned around. No diagnosis yet, but he's drinking and urinating again ! I don't regret that I gave this vet a chance, but I don't think I'll be coming back. They gave it their best shot, but I was not satisfied with he care I received and I don't feel like I was listened to. Perhaps I'm being a bit of a Karen, but I really don't mess around when it comes to my fur baby's life.

The staff and doctors here took care of my dog for shots and annual check up. No complaints at all. I recommend brushing teeth, getting pet insurance and feeding quality food to your pets.

I am not sure where to start here- but ultimately I thought this would be helpful to others. I observed a horrible accident where a small dog was accidentally hit by a car. The owner was in shock experiencing one of the worst moments of her life near my office. As a bystander and witness I took her and her dog to the nearest emergency vet- Napa River Pet Hospital. They told me to do anything they would need payment up front of a hundred something. The lady with the dog had no money and was sobbing so I offered to pay. The receptionist then looked down at her computer screen and in a monotone matter of fact way said "oh because this is an emergency it will be 750 deposit and then we can assess further." I hesitated at this, cringed a little and said ok because I couldn't bear the thought that they wouldn't help her dog without it. I have no doubt they did what they could once they got payment but it kind of got under my skin that all that was important at this moment was money and not saving the dog first. I get that this is not a charity vet, but it felt really awful that in the end the dog had to be put down after I left back to work because they wanted more money than she had (or I had as a total stranger could help with) I wish it wasn't just about money and could have been about humanity. Couldn't they have offered some kind of financing for her or anything else as an option other than a mentality that if she couldn't pay the dog should suffer? It was an awful situation all around. Maybe this is standard everywhere, but I would hesitate on going here in an emergency if you ever find yourself on a horrible situation like this.

Dr Moody is great, the staff not so much. I agree that you need to do your due diligence when signing anything at the desk. Or they preform procedures you did not authorize. I won’t be going back. Also pay with a card or check, as they do not know how to count change.

Inconsiderate with client’s time and pet’s wellbeing.I made an appointment (prepaid) as my dog was limping. The doctor suggested we took an X-ray to check for any broken bones. To my surprise, they didn’t have time to do the X-ray, even though I had an appointment and the clinic was visibly empty, so they insisted they had to keep the dog for the day ($45), may I stay with my dog while he waits? -no! May I take him home and bring him back when you are ready? -no! So I leave, my dog is nervous and crying. 2.5 hours later, no news, I call, no reply, leave a message, no reply; I come over to check on him, -the person in admin was obviously irritated by my visit, I ask her to please check my dog, she says he’s not ready and I can’t wait over there, I must leave and they will let me know when he’s ready. I leave. 2 minutes later the doctor calls, the dog is ready. Whatever. Thanks for wasting my time and patience.

We have been here or to the sister location with four pets on five different visits. All staff and doctors are dedicated to professionalism and kindness. The animals were taken care of and all their needs were attended to gently and expertly. We have seen three of the doctors which is good so that we can all get to know each other as we are new to the area. We are grateful for them and happy they have the emergency availability on Sundays.
