“I am always looking for a place that has Falafel so when I saw it on the pictures outside I was intrigued. Checking on Yelp assured me I wouldn't be disappointed. I saw the menu that Helen posted but didn't realize it was from 2018. I went in hoping to order a bunch of things that they no longer serve. I did get a falafel, though, and my wife got a gyro, and I also tried a pupusa. The falafel and gyro were just as good as the place in Castroville, without the drive. The pupusa was made in front of me and was excellent! The lady was very accommodating, too. She had almost closed but was only too happy to fire things up again to cook for me. When I showed her the menu I wanted to order off of she just shook her head and said it was old. She did make me a carnitas taco (with a hand made tortilla) to eat while I waited, which was really good. Bottom line, it's nice to have good falafel in town, the food is good, the service nice and sweet. We'll be back. I've attached a photo of the QR Code that will get you to the current menu.”

“Great store over the many years I have shopped there. The store changed ownership recently, and with this change came a new lineup of store items. I have noticed a price increase on some items and the elimination of certain items. I accept the fact that the new owners have their own ideas as to how the store will operate now and in the future. I know raising prices is a way to help defer the cost of ownership. With that being said, I appreciate the benefits that the store provides low affordable prices for their customers. I fail to understand why a senior is not asked if they would like to use the 5% discount offered to seniors on Thursdays. Went there today, I needed some cash. When I got to the register, I saw a No Cash Back sign, I asked the young lady why, and she stated that only her register was not giving Cash back. I said to her, "Your register is the only one open. I asked for the manager and waited, but the manager never came, so I then left the store with no cash and headed to my bank.”

“The bakery staff and baked goods in this Nob Hill are excellent. Yolanda went above and beyond the call of duty. She took the time not only to double check my order for lemon bars but personally called me to let me know they were ready for pick up. It was a tricky order and I was worried that they might not arrive in time for my event but they were ready earlier than anticipated and delicious. “I have been using this shop for all meats for several years now. Always will displayed, prices are great, service personal. I appreciate being able to see and select cuts, instead of having to buy a pre-package which may have cuts that are less useful for me. Will cut to order, and prices always markedly below chain grocery stores. I have not purchased much else here so cannot speak to that but find it only slightly annoying that meats and everything else are purchased at separate registers. I will admit that I avoid the pre-seasoned meats, just my thing, not really into heavy seasonings, so cannot rate that, and want to make sure I can see the actual meat I am buying. I routinely drive farther, past a number of other shops to go here.”
