Dogwood Ranch Pet Resort
10385 Reese Cir, SalinasI've been coming to Dogwood since I opened my business in Salinas. Now that I live here, I bring my pup here multiple times a week. Great customer service and reasonable pricing. They almost always have availability and offer good hours for drop off + pick up. This is the best dog daycare I've found in Monterey county. Highly recommend.

She has tons of patience and excels in getting in touch with not only each dog, but us, the dog owners. Ellen helped with both Cocoa's and my own separation anxiety. Plus she does a fantastic job of grooming my dog. The finishing touch is the bow! I can relax knowing Cocoa is safe with Ellen. I just can't imagine going to anyone else!

Bit O'Blarney Pet Services
9835 Rolling Meadows Ln, SalinasWe met Mary for the first time this weekend. She is very experienced with all types of dogs. We took our 10-year-old Shih Tzu / Poodle mix, Simba, to get groomed, and he looked adorable and clean when we picked him up. We like Mary's grooming salon setup because the dogs are kept very safe while having access to fresh outdoor air. I learned quite a bit from Mary regarding Simba's behavior which is helpful since we recently adopted him. We highly recommend Bit O'Blarney Pet Services!

Pet Care
Steinbeck Country Small Animal Clinic
15881 Toro Hills Ave, SalinasThe vet where your pet can win! It’s hard to find a vet that truly takes the time to care for your pet the way you would always imagine or want a vet to.This practice is intentionally kept small, is nestled out of the way in a nice peaceful pocket - it feels like you’re walking in Fort Ord or Toro Park and happen to stumble upon a nice caring vet. After moving here we searched long and hard for a good vet who isn’t rushing all the time or has poorly trained staff who don’t even know how to approach an animal non-violently. We were disappointed with other vets until we finally found this wonderful place. They aren’t out to get you on the price either. They know how to work with you at whatever your current financial situation is.Seriously, thank you for being good people. We love you and I hope we never leave!

Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic: James Sarah DVM
15881 Toro Hills Ave, SalinasDr Dykstra has been one of my horses main vets from this clinic for several years now. Last week my horse came down with an acute lameness on 2 legs and hurting over his whole body, he could barely walk. Dr Hibbits so kindly saw him on an emergency appointment at my house quickly after I called, started him on a high dose of Bute for a few days till he was sound enough to trailer. Dr Dykstra saw him at the clinic and was, and always has been, so easy to educate me on step by step diagnostics in the best interest of my horse. No questions were left unanswered and my mind was at ease when we were done. She even went the extra mile to spend about 15 minutes helping me load my horse back in the trailer who was giving us a real hard time. All of their vets are always very kind, thorough, and educational. I always trust them with all of my horses whatever the problem may be.

Toro Park Animal Hospital
22720 Portola Dr, SalinasWe moved here from northern CA and needed to establish with a new vet. We asked around, and the group that consistently kept coming up was Toro Park Animal Hospital. I was hesitant at first because of "hospital" in the name, thinking it was more than the basic vet care I was looking for. I'm SO GLAD we decided to go. The facility is immaculate, the front staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The communication via text reminding of appointments is great, and after appointments that were a little more involved, the staff reached out by phone the next day to check and see how they were doing. They explain the charges in detail and answer all.of your questions. The drs are very knowledgeable and kind. One of our pups is an abused rescue and can be very timid. They are just wonderful with him. I like that you can have an appt with a tech vs a vet for smaller things like nail trim, flea med etc. When you call, the staff is very patient with your questions and scheduling.I am extremely happy with Toro Park Animal Hospital. Hopefully we won't need extensive, serious care for our little guys, but it's nice knowing we have somewhere we have confidence in to take them if we do.

myk9smind
101 W Laurel Dr St, SalinasHolly is a wonderful trainer and helped us train our rescue dog. It turns out that under our dog’s hyper, energetic exterior is an extremely trainable and eager-to-please pup! We wouldn’t have recognized that and known what to do with it if it weren’t for Holly. We initially started seeing Holly because my doctor recommended I look into training my dog as a service dog. My doctor recommended Holly as a reputable trainer, as she’s heard positive feedback about Holly from other patients.I reached out to Holly, we discussed goals, then did virtual training sessions over FaceTime over the course of a few months. From the very first session, Holly’s guidance was leading us to great results. Our dog used to pull like crazy for entire walks, but now she’s much more polite. It has made walking her much more enjoyable, and now we bring her way more places. What sets Holly apart is that she doesn’t just resort to one strategy to train a dog - she pivots to new ideas if the initial approach doesn’t work. For example, when training my dog to not jump at other dogs on walks, Holly had the creative idea to sit 25 yards from a PetSmart entrance and practice “leave it” so my dog could practice disengaging with other dogs from afar.In regards to service dog training, Holly has an empathetic and motivated approach to ensuring both dog and handler work well together. I felt very comfortable communicating with her about everything.

Alvarado Street Brewery: Production & Tasting Room
1315 Dayton St e, SalinasAs I was saying, after a long hiking trip at the Pinnacles Nat. Park, are gullets were extremely dry! Obviously I (YELPED ) for some liquid refreshments and Alvarado st. Brewery appeared like the scene where the suitcase was opened and a golden ray shined in the movie Pulp Fiction. The place felt very welcoming with its spire tanks of beer all around and the distinct bouquet of fermented hops. Nice extensive brews abound , ipa's , lagers, pils and my choice of stout! That is a Mole Stout ( mōle) with its high alcoholic content and chocolate spicy flavors; this I like! Of course I wanted to try all their 10 types of beer but to no avail; I was driving

SPCA Monterey County
1002 Monterey Salinas Hwy, SalinasJust adopted a dog over the weekend. I had been checking out his profile on the website so I knew I wanted him. Everyone was very nice except 1 lady. I'm assuming she was a supervisor or something. She was rude and boss to the young lady that was doing my paper work. The girl working with me was on point, not letting the bossy one get to her. My new dog is a sweetheart and is fitting in very well with his cat siblings.
