Cortney saw me on short notice and helped identify my sapphires. He was very generous with his time and knowledge. Jewelry is a trade where many practitioners are stingy with their knowledge, or even deceptive. It was a treat being able to talk with someone with a passion for gemstones.

Victor is a fantastic guy and a wizard at getting high-quality watch repair! I sent in a watch that was running fast. Victor gave it a full service without my asking and even changed the crystal and gaskets. It runs perfect and looks better than ever. I couldn't be more impressed!

Balzan's Gemological Laboratory (BGL) had its roots in 1960's-70's designing, working in manufacturing with gems, jewelry, refining metals. A request to help U.S. manufacturers in jewelry exporting rather than importing mostly lead to continued studies in Gemology worldwide.
1980's onward BGL started Learning Trade Centers for Jewelers, Government, Legal, Valuations, Appraisals.
In 1983 BGL led teams of gemologist, appraisers goldsmiths for 25 years with Macy's/Federated West Coast. The mission was to help one of the world's largest Department Stores be credible, ethical with jewelry sales and keeping the Public Trust.
BGL is part of Balzan Laboratories, Inc. consulting in designing, appraisals, diamond/gem replacement and repairs.
