Dreadful, absolutely dreadful. The worst part of going back to school is visiting this monopoly Hot, crowded, expensive and no service Took me an hour to find what my kid needed, the entire hour a young mom and her family stood patiently next in line at the counter just to be ignored for 60 minutes Someone open and new uniform store please

The worst thing about my daughters schools is having to buy uniforms from this company. They are the worst. A whole lot of apologies and ever year the answer is sorry we don't have it. I like that every summer they come to Hayward and so that parents can shop at the school rather than driving to San Francisco or paying shipping. However, they never seem to have the most basic sizes when they come or plan ahead in order to have enough inventory. And when they don't have the appropriate sizes, they aren't even willing to waive the shipping cost. So I always end up driving all the way to San Francisco where they supposedly have it in stock but he knew they NEVER have it in stock. Every year it is the same thing. Last year it was the shirts. This year it's the skirt. They came to the school in early July. They didn't have my daughters skirt size at all. I was told that I would need to order it and they could ship it to me at the school or home with an additional shipping cost of about $20 but it wouldn't be there by the first day. If I need it by the first day, I could drive to the San Francisco store and pick it up. So I did just that. I drove about an hour to the store and they DID NOT HAVE THE SIZE IN STOCK. said they have to back order it which could be about 6 to 8 weeks because it is a unique print and size. Here it is three weeks before school and they don't even care enough to manage their inventory well enough to make sure they have enough stock on hand. At this point I'm convinced they will just tell you whatever in the moment and then they apologize later but don't mean it and could care less about inconveniencing you, while charging you $55 for a skirt and trying to add more for shipping. I was also told by Wendy who was helping me that a comparable size for my daughters skirt would be a 10 husky. It would just be a few inches shorter while this was true. But she failed to mention that it would cost $3 more. But at least Wendy was nice.

I just wanted to leave my dissatisfaction with this store. My daughter and I bought the uniform over the internet and the size was big, so we drove almost two hours from San Pablo to Daly City and after they said I could change it and already with our new pieces in my hand they said no I could exchange it because it was out of stock. I honestly didn't think it was very unfair and I went home without a uniform. They wanted me to pay almost 200.00 again. My daughter then left crying in sadness because she is going to start classes without a school uniform. So i gave to them Zero star ⭐️ and don’t recommend. So disappointed!

I agree with Harlow. The quality of the boys corduroy pants has declined over the years. These pants are expensive and should be made to last longer than the first 2 weeks of school. My son's pants ripped in the 1st 10 days of wear. I tried to return the pants and was told items previously worn could not be returned. We have been loyal customers for 9 years. The Classic Design staff are charming and helpful as long as you are spending money. When items are faulty they cite various reasons why they are "so sorry" but can not return the item. Very disappointing. I will never buy anything at the store again. Go online... find another uniform store who will stand behind the clothes they sell and who will treat loyal customers with respect and good customer service.

We've been coming here for years to buy the kids' their school clothes. Service is always friendly and helpful. The clerks are attentive without trying to make you buy everything under the sun. Prices are ok. I wouldn't say they are super cheap since they have a lock in the business. Plus for opening on the weekends and for ok street parking.

It has been decades since I last shopped for school uniforms. Growing up in SF, Dennis Uniforms was the only option. However, not a fan of the reviews for their current SF location. So, we arrived at Classic Designs (for my niece) with a fair amount of skepticism. And, we shouldn't have worried. All the staff were patient, caring, and knowledgeable. They didn't up-sell, had the uniform list readily available, encouraged trying on each item, and gave useful feedback on sizing/purchasing decisions with the customer in mind ("Buy one now; you can always get another one later, we're open 5 days a week."). And why else do I think they're fabulous? Gym clothes with school logo are now required and even the smallest pair of pre-made sweatpants was too big/long for a kinder person. Classic Designs tests the merchandise they carry to address everyday questions/issues that may come up and prewashed the gym sweatpants 4+ times to see how much they would shrink. We were able to try on a pair of re-preshrunk sweatpants. Changing rooms in the middle of the store. Prices for new uniforms are reasonable. Easy street parking. Return/exchange policy clearly stated - 45 days from purchase with receipt. Additional pluses, if you care about these things - family owned and locally based. (I like supporting local when I can.) Highly recommend! And as another reviewer mentioned, no shoes!

I wish Yelp offered more stars to give for this company. What a class act- efficient, knowledgeable, incredible service, reasonable prices, and they go out of their way - and I mean way out of their way-to accommodate clients, their needs, etc. These people are a rare breed of old-fashioned adherence to the customer is always right and treating every customer like they are the most important one. You simply cannot go wrong with this company- a no brainer.

I used to come here to purchase my school uniforms when I was in elementary and middle school. The customer service is great and the people who work there are friendly and very helpful. Even if you're a parent new to the whole uniform thing, I wouldn't worry. The employees here are really knowledgable and know what your child needs to wear, from the kind of pants to the shirts to the sweatshirts/sweaters. If you're shopping for your child before the new school year, I HIGHLY recommend coming at the beginning of the summer to avoid the crowd. It gets really busy near the end of summer, especially in August. If you're afraid your child will outgrow the clothes during the summer (if you bought at the beginning of summer), the return policy is actually really accommodating. As long as an item hasn't been worn/washed/still has tags attached, I believe their return policy starts from the first day of school! Also, specific sizes may run out by the end of the summer so it doesn't hurt to shop early.

I've been going here to purchase uniforms for nine years, and each visit is rewarded with the same excellent customer service as the last. Upon arrival, a well-informed sales representative greeted me and asked what school I was from. He was familiar with the school's requirements and quickly helped pick out the right sizes and pieces, referencing my account that had been on file from previous years. The store gets a little crazier during the late summer months, so I usually try to go before the rush, or stop by once in a while during the school year if things are outgrown (as I did this time). The items are a little bit on the pricey side, but in my opinion it's worth spending a little extra for the good quality rather than go elsewhere with cheaper material. The store is as efficient and well run as a major retailer but provides assistance on a more intimate level, with the customer accounts, personal shoppers, and friendly service.
