“Starlight is a great place to spend your time. The place has a very mellow and comfortable atmosphere with a lot of different types of seating arrangements that are inside and outside. The people who run Starlight are very friendly, very reasonable people who are easy to have a conversation with. There are a variety of different events that take place at Starlight throughout the week too. I would give this place more stars if it was possible.Kid-friendliness: I bring my 14 year old son to Starlight every week before his drum lessons, because his lessons take place across the street from there. They make him a killer hot chocolate. We also play ping pong and hulahoop in their courtyard when we have a little more time. The music inside starlight is generally kind of mellow, not offensive, and not super loud either.”

“We went to Hodges family farm and we were not disappointed. Even though we came at the end of October, there were still plenty of pumpkins to pick from. The grounds were kept up every well. They arranged great photo opportunities all over the farm. I loved the variety in wagon choices and our daughter had a great time at her first pumpkin patch!”

“I had been wanting to go to this place for a long time and finally went this past weekend. They specialize in making their menu friendly for all types of diets. It was so nice being able to go into a TRENDY/ nice restaurant and be able to order what I want. I'm used to going to these quick, casual, vegan restaurants so it was refreshing. Parking is a little confusing and crowded but it wasn't bad. I believe their parking lot was like one building down but we found a parking spot pretty quick. We went in around 1:30 and I believe we just missed the brunch crowd but it was still a decent amount of people and I did not feel like people were sitting on top of us. We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation which I didn't realize that we needed one. Still not sure, but the bartender and all of the other staff were very pleasant. The food came out at a decent time as you can imagine with plant based food, and was delicious. The mimosas I had were amazing. Very different. Can't wait to take all of my non vegan friends. I am so happy to be able to say that!”

“The Duke Mansion is a lovely gem tucked away in the heart of Charlotte. Convenient to get anywhere in town. Our room was spacious and well maintained, however, they are not equal so make sure you are specific in making your reservation. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area. I would love to give this 5 stars but the staff is lacking. It is actually impressive that they can still say rooms will not be cleaned "due to COVID" with a straight face. Awkward excuse for poor management.”

“In the search of a venue for my Alumni Fraternity 74th Anniversary celebration we toured The Hamilton Event Space. Immediately sold on the space once seeing all of the different room locations where we not only provide our guests with an experience they wouldn't forget but also "Wow Factors". The event Manager Alyssa Corbin went above and beyond with providing details, suggestions and answering all questions throughout the planning process. She made the planning process for 400+ guests easier than ever. She was also accommodating with our vision for the space. Thank you for everything Alyssa.The evening of the event we were greeted by Ben who was our main contact for the night of the event. Another above and beyond service as he was everywhere throughout the entire night ensuring everything was flowing. At one point I saw him walking thru the crowd to handle something and he hit a few dance moves with the crowd, this type of energy by staff is always appreciated and enjoyable. The entire staff was GREAT from Maddie, Whitney, Franklin, Myriah, Eli and Mariah. Their service was top notch as all guests were able to be served in a timely manner but overall a fun experience.This was my first time meeting the owner Tom. He was extremely pleasant and at one point we were trying to figure out our additional sound we wanted in the front of the venue. Tom came to me and gave a suggestion, after his suggestion he said "but you don't have to do it that way". You don't meet many owners who will give you options and during what could have been a panic moment Tom gave the best suggestion but also was trusting of the decision we were going to make (we went with his suggestion by the way).The food...let's just say the leftover food I had the opportunity to take home and definitely enjoyed the next day. The food options seemed endless from review of the menu and with what we selected we were not only satisfied but highly impressed. (The food is GOOD).The Hamilton Event Space gets a 10, two thumbs up and standing ovation. It's rare, especially after the pandemic to patronize a venue where everything is TOP TIER! “I checked in with a with a welcome and friendly happy smile from Amber. She accommodated me a higher floor near the corner to be more quiet. She even brought the sandals to me directly as housekeeper was off work. I feel she has great customer service that goes above and beyond. But, there were bunch of kids constantly opening a closing door all night, talked loud and even running at the hallway.I planned to swim in the morning, but the water was filthy dirty with hair, debris and floating stuff, likely caused by those kids again. Andrew was kind enough to offer to clean the pool, but it is just too dirty for me.Also, the room AC was strange as it constantly ran for few minutes and stop for about a minute. It was very loud that when it ran, I barely could hear the TV audio. I have stayed in many other aloft hotels before and never noticed or recall issue like this. She accommodateDon’t know why the corporate have a noisy mechanical clock next to the bed? I had to unplug it.I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, 1st night was rough, but other two nights were normal. Although the 1st night experience was bad, the staff were offered some compensation.”
