Ty, Eathan, and their entire crew were exceptional! We had a move out of state from a 102 year old house in Portland. Our load was over our projected weight because of many changes on our part. With each request, they were helpful and showed a remarkable patience and a great attitude. We would like to recognize the good job they did and appreciated all their careful efforts.

Barry quoted our move based on an in-home survey. Pretty routine. He generated a very detailed quote which we appreciated. We like the feature that the quote could not exceed the quoted amount, but could go lower based on actual weight. It could also go up based on actual packing materials (we quoted a full pack move). Barry underestimated the packing materials required. Barry was professional and nice to work with.I felt that the Berger Wilsonville team did a pretty good job driving things for our move through pack and load. I had to ping them via emails during periods of silence. But they do have a process and they follow it. Just felt like I was hanging and not sure during periods of silence. The Berger Allied Wilsonville team owned the origin side. Once the truck was loaded, I felt like they wanted to step away and hope I would engage directly with the driver. I never knew who the destination agent was until delivery day (turns out it was Alex Moving & Storage in San Bernardino). It would have been nice to have been presented up front with the full 'Allied Van Lines' plan - who was handling what where. The way they do it now - it is a bit silo'd - feeling that one entity tosses the ball over the wall and hopes the other side got it. Towards the delivery day - communication broke down. The driver went radio silent. Berger Allied Wilsonville didn't own the driver. Me as the customer, I want one throat to choke so to speak. To me, Berger Allied Wilsonville owned my move origin to destination since they quoted it. They didn't seem to see it that way.In the end, it took 9 days for my household goods to be delivered and this was Portland Oregon to Irvine CA. They quoted a delivery range from 4 - 13 days, which in hindsight was too wide a range that I should not have accepted. So a lot of driver stops in between. And my stuff was offloaded from the original moving van at some point and delivered to me in smaller truck owned by Alex Moving and Storage and by Alex Moving employees. After the load in Oregon, I never saw, or heard from, the driver again. I did not like this aspect of the move.Everything made it except an antique plant stand part - two parts were wrapped in a blanket, no tag, but the main stem that connects them was totally missing. This item was handled by the driver load team. Not a big ticket item, but sentimental value. Guess lucky all the big ticket items made it. One bedside table was damaged.

KJ worked hard to secure my business when I moved from Oregon to the East coast. However, in transit three (3) boxes were lost and never accounted for when they delivered our boxes to our East coast home.Losing one (1) box I could understand, that happens. Losing two (2) boxes is a negligence - but losing three (3) boxes is unprofessional bordering on suspicious. Worse, as soon as I tried to reach a resolution with Berger and KJ about our lost boxes, I was referred to corporate and never heard from KJ again.Corporate left us high and dry, reimbursing us for an insignificant fraction of the value of the possessions in the three (3) boxes that they lost.I trusted KJ and Berger with my life's possessions. I entrusted them to get my boxes across the country and to my new home. KJ and Berger failed me, and then refused to take responsibility for the personal possessions which they lost. It was an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional response to a problem which I still can't even understand; how do you lose three (3) boxes?! I mean, where did they go?Look elsewhere when entrusting your life's possessions to movers - Berger, Allied, and KJ will not take responsibility or hold themselves accountable when (not if, when) they lose your personal possessions.UPDATE: 22-Aug-2023Thank you for your response. I am terribly saddened to have learn here on Google of KJ's passing - a tragic loss for your business, the community, his family, and everyone whose life he touched.I felt terrible after learning this sad information and scoured all of my communications with Berger. Unfortunately, not in any text, email, or correspondence was I ever told about this loss, and, in fact, I continued to Cc KJ through all of my correspondence with the Berger team for months without anyone ever notifying me of his tragic passing. This only further exemplifies my mistreatment and the horrible customer service I've had to deal with at the hands of Berger and Allied Moving. You lost three (3) boxes of my personal possessions, and continue to refuse to take responsibility for your errors. I stand by my recommendation of 1-star and reiterate to potential customers DO NOT USE Berger & Allied Moving - they will shirk responsibility for the loss of your personal possessions and drag out your case until you have no choice left but to seek arbitration - a loss for the customer alone.I can only hope that Berger can honor the beautiful memory of KJ's life by asking yourself, "what would KJ do" before you malign your customers.

Working with KJ to set up the move was easy and his communication was great. Then Humberto and team on moving day were incredibly professional and great to our family. Their effort to get our entire house moved ahead of schedule to beat the storm enabled us to have a great holiday at our new home.

We moved a large household with Prestige in a regional move almost 3 years ago now and admittedly are just getting around to this review. Regional means because it was under about 500 miles. So they advised us that their national agreement stipulates that they supply local staff and arrange for their own (leased) trucks for all parts of the move instead of national (Allied) drivers and trucks coming in. The truck work and truck packing was generally very good, the better part of the move. Some other parts of the move were also done OK, but the packing job and the overall complexity of the move I think just eventually overwhelmed the capabilities of this company and the overall attitude by unloading time was not good. One early warning about the packers should have been when I had to run outside carrying a stack of burning packing paper they set on fire! This happened when a packer stacked packing paper on our stove and then inadvertently turned on a stovetop burner! Again, much of the work overall was OK, but a couple of the packers (there were as many as 6 or 7 over several days ) just did ridiculous and careless packing that was not apparent at the time since we could not be in every room when the packing was happening. We had a lot of papers, books, equipment and small items. So we ended up with issues like bent book covers, scratched items. Food ended up being packed with books! There was a packer claiming they were totally experienced with hifi gear and then wedging a $1000 LP turntable on its end into a 4.5 cu ft. box next to other equipment - and so damaging the plexi cover and mechanism. Glass and China was packed well with no problems. But then we still don't know why this set of movers insisted on removing everything from all the drawers, resulting in lots of damaged photos and small personal items. We have moved several times over a period of 30 years and never had movers who forced us to remove all drawer contents. This upped the box count as well. Again, some items were packed very well but a couple of the packers seemed to resent the time it was taking late in the pack and they seemed to have just started stuffing things into boxes that were over packed by weight and a lot of small items were damaged. Interestingly some of the best were the young packers, including one couple- and the worst seemed to be 'the old hands' who were constantly out of sorts. Then there is the whole issue that we chose the price quote option for a guaranteed price which after realizing the real scope of the move , Prestige then said they would not honor. This problem was mostly because the the estimator - a member of the executive staff of the company - chose not to climb the pull down ladder and look into an attic space and did not see everything in a storage shed . Years later we still unpack a few last boxes and find some excellently packed - but some packed so poorly that valuable items were damaged because they were tossed in with no wrapping -- again this must have been just one or two of the packers who perhaps were angry with us or tired at the end?The independent local driver was a frequent associate of the company and did OK though he was distracted with a lot of phone calls at first - -apparently relating to truck or financial matters or his own fixed price deal with Prestige. So we can say in fairness that perhaps the size of our move seemed to overwhelm the capabilities of Prestige. From past moves, we also definitely feel that their packing would benefit greatly from having some women in on the packing - as a couple of their men showed themselves in the end to just be sloppy and angry and perhaps a bit typically careless to be handling personal and valuable items. This all in the end left us unhappy - and overshadowed any other good work done by most others in this move. The size of our move was definitely a problem factor for Prestige - so if you are looking for a "white gloves" style move of a large household instead of smaller moves -- perhaps you want to choose carefully between this and o

The movers on both ends were professional, friendly, and handled my things as if they were their own.If you’re moving, I highly recommend Berger Allied Moving. Be sure to request KJ.Thanks again for taking care of me.Kenny

KJ was the most professional, communicative, and prompt of all of the reps we worked with for quotes for our cross country move. His quote was also the most thorough, best pricing, and I was well informed every step of the way. KJ with Berger Moving and Storage/Allied Movers is THE person to talk to if you’re considering a move in the Portland/Salem areas and beyond!

Everything went very smoothly with our move and everyone at Prestige was very professional and easy to work with. KJ, the relocation consultant who scheduled our move, was very accommodating when we had to make changes to our moving date and delivery location. Our driver Eric was very friendly and helpful, and the most punctual driver I’ve ever met. Moving is never easy, but the guys at Prestige made it as smooth as possible on their end.

We are moving internationally for the 6th time and Prestige ought to be so lucky that they have Anna and her team. Extremely professional and the team of three took all the right time to ensure that every single item was packed / wrapped appropriately. I'm sure that the container journey across the Pacific will be smooth sailing for our items. Thank you all so much!
