First time staying at a Super 8 due to the good reviews, as most of them never seem to rate more than 3 stars. This motel is located a few blocks from downtown and Wall Drug, an easy walk although probably not on a hot day. It's not big, has a tiny sitting area in the lobby and the breakfast area with tables on the other side. It looks and feels clean with everything in good shape. We had a king room on the ground floor. It's regular size with fridge, microwave oven, small square table with 2 comfortable chairs and a good size TV. Bed and pillows too soft not comfortable. Lighting is not the brightest but adequate. Aircon worked very well and not too noisy. If you don't need a pool or exercise room (which are usually not that great in other somewhat higher end chain motels anyway) this is a much better value hotel to stay. Shower is really strong like a fire hose. No way to keep light on in the bathroom without the fan which is inconvenient. Breakfast - the room's not big only a few tables so can get crowded with nowhere to sit. Many people just brought food back to their rooms. There are a couple of tables in front outside but no good if it's raining. Anyway it's simple, just a microwaveable breakfast sandwich with cheese and sausage (actually not bad), oatmeal packets, yogurt, breakfast bars (not very tasty). Coffee but no hot water for tea. But there are tea bags so you could microwave hot water in a paper cup (except I have always been told paper cups are not necessarily microwave safe).

BEDBUGS!!!!!We found bedbugs as we laid down to sleep. Management wouldn’t give us a refund when we let them know. Got out immediately anyways!

Passing through on the way East, being so warmly welcomed at check-in by Julie was a balm to road-weary travelers. She greeted us with a warm, friendly smile, as well as being a total professional at her job. Can't remember a better way to start a stay...even for only a night.Whole place was really clean and a joy to find in the wilds of South Dakota.Room and next morning breakfast were both good.

I really love the location, close to the Badlands NP. Check in was fast and easy but with no smiles, very matter of fact. Breakfast was small and simple but sufficient. Our room was good for the price, compact but had everything we needed.

We asked for a first floor room or near an elevator as one was handicapped. Apparently reservations was unaware there was no elevator at this location and no first floor rooms were available. They also wouldn’t refund us so we could go somewhere else. So we slowly made our way up to the far end of the hotel. In her defense she did help us carry our bags up.Walkability: No elevator

This was just a one night stay while on the road. This is an older place that could use some updating. Front desk staffer had that I can't be bothered attitude when I checked in. The room was alright no issues, was clean and quiet. Breakfast was just a microwave egg sandwich. No elevator.

Stay at your own risk. Outlets broken clogged drain in the sink that I had to dig out hair and gunk. No way the staff cleans and doesn’t notice a drain not draining at all. Anything you plugged in falls out of outlet. This place is a fire

Overall, my stay here was a good one. I was there for six nights. When I checked in, the receptionist Julian was most helpful in getting me an upstairs room even though they had me downstairs. That got my stay started off on the right foot as she was most accommodating. Cons: The room was very small and the bathroom vanity area was tiny. There were very few electrical outlets so powering my devices was a challenge. The in-room AC was really loud and blew right onto my bed at night forcing me to find a way of deflecting the air. The frig was really loud as well and rattled. Pros: Very clean room, quiet and quaint. Friendly staff everywhere. The rooms are priced really well. Some friends of mine stayed across the street at the Best Western and paid twice as much as I did. For a short stay, I recommend!

Small sized hotel with decent sized rooms. The bed was super comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was average. The staff was super friendly. It is within walking distance ro EVERYTHING (Dinosaur, Wall Drug, DQ, convenience stores, etc.) My only complaint would be that there was no pool and/or hot tub.

The room and hotel were what was expected for the price. Everything was satisfactory. Front desk women was exceptionally friendly and helpful! We'd stay again when we just need a place to sleep at the end of a long day driving.
