This is a little gem of a place. It's quite hidden but worth your while to find. Not a big menu, but plenty to eat. Their cheese board was great and their wines were very thoughtful. We had a flight of red and liked all of them. It felt like we were in Paris. There was live music as well. I also loved that they allowed for 2 hours so you didn't feel rushed. Quite unique these days! Go check it out!

This place is amazing! The crepe with fioe gras was truly one of the best dishes we've had in our lives. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. A little cramped and in a not so great area, but a true gem.

Fabulous vibe and friendly, hyper-professional service. The live jazz was the ultimate icing on this cake. Had the charcuterie & cheese board and a bottle of Syrah, and they even customized the cheese layout to accommodate my lactose-intolerant date. By every measure, you could not possibly ask for a better backdrop for date night. This is the wine bar that Nashville needed, and I for one couldn't be happier that it's here.

Love Authentique! So cool that they now have a jazz duo on Thurs, Fri and Sat. Adds to the great ambience. Crepes are delicious and staff is friendly and knowledgeable with good recommendations for wines. You really feel like you're in a neighborhood Paris bistro.....

By far one of the best dates I have taken my girlfriend on. The food was great, the server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was very patient with my girlfriend as we don't know much about wine. I would recommend this place to anyone. Even the prices were beyond fair! I will be recommending this to anyone looking for a good date night.

I learned two important things: 1. I really like caviar. Like, I could eat it with a ladle. And with pancake-sized blinis (which would just make them pancakes, right?) and a bowl of creme fraiche. 2. The Authentique makes the best crepes I've ever had. I ordered strawberry, and every element from the shape, color, and cook on the crepes to the creamtastic sauce it was sitting in screamed Jacques Pepin. The strawberries themselves, however, were so good that I'm going to have to use a word here that gets overused in life and especially in food criticism: the strawberries were perfect. Let those bad boys get too hot and their texture suffers. Don't let them get hot enough and it makes you question the temperatures of the dish and the cook on the crepes themselves. My wife and I are foodies and we couldn't remember the last time we tried anything sweet that was as good as my strawberry crepe. Except for maybe her salted caramel crepe. You guys, I DON'T EVEN LIKE CARAMEL. But that thing was hecking delicious. When something tastes THAT good, the natural reaction both my wife and I have is laughter. I don't know why we laugh at delectable food, but we do and we laughed a lot that night.

We loved the cozy atmosphere. Very inviting and although there was live jazz music, it easily low enough to still have a conversation in a normal voice. Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the wines and cheeses. The lighting was a little bright which took away from the ambience, but all in all a very enjoyable experience. Recommended for sure!!!

You drive down Gallatin Avenue, a mundane commercial strip with its gas stations, grocery stores, and fast food restaurants. You pull up to a grungy strip mall with a vape shop, a pizza joint, and an intriguing hand-painted sign—“The Authentique.” You open the door, walk inside, and—you're in a French wine bar on some pleasant Parisian street. There's a soft murmur of happy conversation from patrons sitting at the narrow bar, high tops, and small tables, couples, trios, and quartets. It's Friday or Saturday night, so an excellent jazz duo (guitarist and upright bass) are jamming. You're greeted by the proprietors and bartender in a medley of French and American accents—wait, have you been transported back in time to one of those Parisian bars in 1920s that catered to American émigré fleeing Prohibition? You review the menu: a lengthy list of French wines, apéritifs, digestifs, cognacs, armagnacs. Maybe, like me, you have no expertise in wine. The bartender or one of the proprietors supplies, more than supplies, what you lack with their encyclopedic knowledge. They ask you about your tastes and preferences and make a recommendation that is perfectly suited, yet perhaps wholly unexpected. You sit at the bar and drink thoughtfully, chat amiably, nibble contentedly on bread, or cheese, or crepes, or chocolate mousse (the food menu is delightfully varied for such a compact kitchen space). You admire the deft dance of the bartender and the chef, cooking, pouring, serving, clearing, yet never colliding. You don't want to leave, but you must. You pay your check, you say good night, and you walk out that door with a mixture of contentment and regret. You're back on Gallatin Avenue. You have returned to the mundane. But you smile, because you know it wasn't a fantasy. You know you can come back.

My wife & I went for a date night. This is a cute very small bistro/cafe. We had the bold wine flight. All delicious French wines. We split the mixed green salad with like goat cheese bruschetta. Then we split the Parisian crepe that had spinach, mushrooms & Gruyère cheese & smoked salmon blinis. all were wonderful! We will definitely go back.

I have lost track of how many times I have been to The Authentique. It never fails to please: the excellent wine, the gracious service, the charming hospitality, the live upright bass/guitar jazz duo on the weekends, the pleasant murmur of happy conversation. If you love wine, excellent cheese (or meat, or crepes, or...the list goes on), and unpretentious refinement, you will love The Authentique.

Our experience at Authentique was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we entered till we exited - it was nothing short of a true piece of Europe. The wine selection and decadent food choices of the owners show true love of and passion of this industry. Truffle bread and butter charcuterie boards... lovely all around! A must try and we will definitely return! Thanks for coming to Nashville!!!

I’ve Been coming here for few months now. Very Relax, cozy and European feeling like environment. Nothing beats a nice bottle of wine and Charcuterie and Chessboard. Nice selection of flights for everyone. Aleks is so knowledgeable and passionate about his menu and is always willing to answer questions left and right! Glad to have a place like this in Nashville!

It's rare to find a place in Nashville that serves steak tartare let alone a delicious one! I was able to have a desert crêpe as well with Nutella and Strawberries only to find it was as delicious as my entree. There was live music which gave the entire place a relaxed but buzzing vibe. Overall I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely be returning!

Food was good, but it's all about the ambiance and vibes. The wine is great, the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. The live music is great. It's definitely a hole in the wall kind of place.
