I have eaten at Flemings in other locations and they were great. The one in The Summit here in Birmingham is a disappointment. First off, it smells like mold or mildew around the kitchen area. We were sat near the kitchen for a Sunday brunch, and the gross smell made us lose our appetite. The service was just OK, not what I have experienced from Flemings in the past. The food was mixed, 1 out of 3 had a great meal, the other 2 did not. Again for an establishment as high end as Flemings, I do not expect to smell moldy mildew the entire time I am eating, I expect great service, and I expect to be served high quality food cooked properly, it was mostly misses on this visit.

The bread and spreads to go with it was delicious. I ordered the petite filet, oscar style and it was the best steak I've had at an upscale, chain steakhouse. Service was excellent.

Today was hubby's birthday. He wanted to go to Fleming's. It was our first visit. We usually go to their sister restaurant, Bonefish, just because it is about eight minutes from our house. We have been missing out big time! Our dining experience was perfection from the minute we walked into the door until the minute we walked out the door. Attention to detail was incredible. The entire staff treated us like family. And oh my goodness - the food...the food was fresh, cooked to perfection, and simply delicious. A great dining experience. We will definitely go back.

My buddy and I went to Fleming's to get the tomahawk Father's Day special and both agreed the steak needed more seasoning than what they put on it. We both rated the steak a 6 out of 10. The bread they give is super hard with zero flavor. Glad it was free.. The Cesar salad was average. The key lime pie was truly the best thing we ate. I ordered 3 Michelob Ultras and it was $21.00. I truly eat at amazing places all the time and this is the first place I have ever been that charges $7 for each beer. You can buy a whole six pack for what one beer cost. If they said their meat is expensive because they buy from the best supplier I totally understand but Michelob Ultra taste the same anywhere you get it. Oh and I'm sure they get a better deal on it than I do. I've ate at Fleming's twice now and do not feel it's worth the money at all. I will not be back.

First time for us at a Fleming's- any Fleming's. This is a special occasion place like an anniversary or birthday, or if you're a baller, or if you just won on Jeopardy for 33 days straight. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Fleming's is no exception. Ambiance, wine list, service, food quality and presentation are excellent. We both had the filet mignon, medium, and it did not disappoint. We split a wedge salad - large enough to split. We also shared a side of mashed potatoes- again, large enough to share. Along with a couple flutes of Prosecco, we were satisfied and had no room for dessert. They knew it was our anniversary. As we were seated there was a rose and a card on the table. After dinner our server presented us with a box of chocolate truffles. That's the service part of excellence and why you pay a little more here. It is deserved.

Two stars because of the service. How do I describe our server? Disinterested, put out, unhelpful and inattentive until he was packing us up to go. He even did not bring us any bread with our meal. Wow! A nearly 800.00 tab you would think would warrant better service. No! I would have given higher marks if only the food were part of the rating. The kitchen did a nice job with the food. They always have. The steaks were very good, and many of us added jumbo lump crab meat to the filet which put it over the top. The ribeye was well received too as was the salmon plate ; both were cooked to order. The sides of potatoes au gratin and asparagus were well executed but I'd give the nod to the potatoes. Finally, the desserts were really good but we were just too full for them. Creme brí»lée and cheesecake with caramel sauce are large enough to share. My children devoured them the next few days and gave them the thumbs up. Competition down the road treated us much better so I'm inclined to take my large gatherings to Perry's. Be better, Fleming's. Bham needs you to be.

I can always expect to have excellent service & excellent food here. They have a wonderful rewards program here! Don't be too worried about the prices here because if you decide to dine in their bar area you can eat off of their bar menu & their happy hour menu, which is much more reasonably priced than their regular dinner menu! This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Birmingham! Try your next steak like this: Pittsburgh Style Medium Rare, delicious!!!

Listen.....are you listening....ok. Go to this place! Sit down and prepare your tastebuds for happiness. Everything that was placed before me was excellent. My husband and I had the steak pictured below, chopped salad, creamed spinach, Fleming potatoes and for dessert the lava cake (we also took key lime pie home). We were MORE than pleased with each and every bite. The service was top notch! I wanted to go to the kitchen with our steak and ask "who, on God's green earth cooked this delicious, perfectly seasoned, melt in your mouth, make you want to shoutsteak?" I'm convinced that it had to be someone with a lot of love in their heart!

We had a lovely Valentines Day dinner at Flemings. They never disappoint. We got the filet mignon with the Mac and cheese. I will say that I didn't care much for my dessert, but they took it off and my friend really liked hers. I also had 3 fabulous glasses of moscato. Until next time!

Had crab cake and a drink here on a restaurant crawl. It was jam packed but everyone worked like a well oil machine to make sure guest orders were correct and served quickly. We didn't mingle because I didn't want to take up the table too long since I wasn't ordering much. I wasn't impressed with the crab cake because it had too much filler in it for my preference. I don't like the dark flakes of crab meat because the lump claw meat is better to me. It was hard not to order one of the steaks we saw being served but there will be a next time.

I had lunch at Fleming's on Thursday and it was fantastic. Great food and great service. What else could you ask for? Everything was wonderful, but the steak, calamari, and Brussels sprouts were worthy of additional comment. I had the filet and it was cooked just right. It was tender and flavorful. The steak had a pitch of salt that was just enough to enhance the premium cut. A USDA Prime filet is one of the finer things in life, and the chefs at Fleming's know how to do it right. Sweet Chili Calamari - Perhaps the best fried calimari that I have ever had. The bite size pieces were lightly battered and tender. The sweet chili sauce was thin and complemented the fresh squid. Crispy Brussel Sprouts - I love these creative brussels sprout dishes that have become very popular. This prep had a hint of sweetness and the small bacon pieces added flavor and crunch. This dish is amazingly different from my memories of steamed, cabbage-like sprouts.

With my job I get to visit area restaurants like 2-3 times a month for dinners. This night it was Fleming's! Sometimes the menu is hit or miss! We do t get the full menu. Tonight was a good one. And the wine is always good!!! Tonight I got the fish of choice which was MISO GLAZED CHILEAN SEA BASS sautéed with sesame-orange spinach & arugula, pickled red onion paired with potatoes & brussel sprouts. The salad was amazing. And I'm not big on Creme Brí»lée but I did taste it! The strawberry & raspberry was fresh & delish! Our waiters are always good for these dinners. I have never been to this restaurant outside of work but I'm thinking my fiancé would love it!
