I turned in a iPhone to be shipped back for a replacement device in January. I have been harassed by TMobile and a third party company since January about the phone, just for me to call the third party company yet again (IT IS NOW MARCH) and them tell me the post office has it in “preship”. I have made several visits to this place asking about the phone just for them to tell me there is nothing they can do. We you can start by shipping the phone that’s in your possession. Unless it’s been stolen. I handed it to the black girl that stands on the end by the entrance door. I will be contacting the authorities because this is not acceptable. I am being charged for a phone that I no longer have! Do better!

If I could provide zero stars, I definitely would. Juan is HORRIBLE. He is supposed to be the postmaster but never takes accountability. Instead, he finds every reason things has happened. My mail carrier goes out and then my mail for that day becomes missing. Instead, he puts the issue back on my mail carrier vs the person the issue is with. This is by far the worst USPS in history.

Self service never works. Employees are overloaded with customers & not supported properly. Office is often stifling without proper air ventilation & conditioning.

My daughter went to the Hoover post office to submit her passport application. She is 17. We looked it up ahead of time and she had all the proper required documentation, including what she needed from me as a guardian. They rudely turned her away saying no because I had to be with her. Per US guidelines 16/17 year olds can go alone IF they have a letter signed by parent/guardian consenting and a copy of parent/guardian's driver's license. In fact I had already spoken to a guy there to confirm all this! The lady argued with me on the phone and it took me reading from the US government travel website 4 times for her to relent and finally let my daughter COME BACK to submit the application. Don't let this happen to you and dont assume they rules/regs....they dont. Hoover Post Office educate your employees on the requirements for US passport applications and customer service.

Abysmal. A "one star" only because zero is not possible. On January 19, 2024, we received much of our bulk mail from early November through January. (Look at the dates in the photos, e.g., the REI catalog is for a sale from Nov 10 - Nov 20.) The Magnificat booklets, which are pictured, have daily readings, and receiving the December readings in January isn't very helpful. The catalog companies paid for ads that have no value one-to-two months after the sales have ended. The USPS and the staff and carriers in the Hoover office should be ashamed of themselves--except, maybe for the one person, who finally decided to deliver the bulk of our bulk mail.

This place is the absolute worst. The mail carriers they have on staff is ridiculous and rude. I have footage of them literally throwing my packages on the ground. Tried to call usps to let them know and they were no help and saw no issue with the way their mail carrier had rudely delivered (and broken) my package.

I ship from this location 3-4 times a month and have never had a major problem that they couldn’t resolve. It seems as if some people want them to back flip and hula hoop for them instead of following the process. Honestly, I feel bad for the employees because I’ve heard the way some entitled and rude customers talk to them. The line is long sometimes but I use the kiosk often. It’s the only location in Hoover and the employees can’t control the amount of people they are expected to serve. I would advise anyone who frequents this location the same way I advise my toddler: Listen, be patient, and treat others how you want to be treated.

Don’t look at the time they list. They have no problem closing early.

Very incompetent workers here, not all but some. Not sure how ignorant you have to be to not know how to SCAN a package correctly? Instead of getting things corrected they are all laughing in the backroom and taking forever to get customers out the door. Recommend you go to another post office for packages or mail pick-up if possible.

I was there to drop a package. The barcode was light on one end and would not scan. The employee made me reprint it and attach it. But she would not type the numbers under the barcode. There is a reason why those numbers are printed under the barcode. My advice to the post office is to better train their employees. So common people do not have to go through this.

I have held my tongue for about a decade, but there is always something broken or missing at this location. That usually requires me to wait in a very long line for something I could’ve done myself, like buy stamps or put a small box in the outgoing bin. I’ve had to ask for a shipping box or form that they are either out of or is just not stocked for self service. I would say that it’s embarrassing for the leadership at this location but they just don’t seem to care. Very consistently. However, every staff member that I’ve encountered has been very nice and helpful. Every single one! which is a small miracle and truly a testament to their kindness considering the way this location seems to be managed.
