About Bayard Rustin Community Center and Thrift Store
The Bayard Rustin Community Center and Thrift Store is named after civil rights activist, Bayard Rustin. Bayard was an indispensable force behind the civil rights movement alongside Martin Luther King Jr. and openly gay. Our center hopes to carry on his legacy of advocacy, education, queer liberation, and unity. The center is also home to Montgomery Pride United. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization which provides resources for underserved populations and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community.
