Kids play is fine. Tucked way back around and through …a bit of a short strange journey to the area. Toys and toys on toys there for the kiddos and nice staff. Machines and treadmills were nice. Good WiFi as I had some work to do too. Coffee was a nice touch in the small open seating area. Those outside pools looked nice for warm summer days.

So I signed my 5y up for the category 1 swim lessons. Then, due to an unfortunate circumstance involving a medical issue, we missed the first three classes. I called the next morning to see if we could sign up for a different set of lessons and they made it sound like I could do that and said to email a certain employee. There was another lesson later that day so when I hadn’t heard anything by the afternoon, I called again and was told they were waiting on verification and would let me know before class started if we needed to go. 7 minutes before class I got an email saying we would not be able to swap. Needless to say, we weren’t able to make that class, so we lost four out of eight classes. Of the four we attended, two were taught by a substitute and two were taught by the certified instructor. They were both very nice and everyone at the Y was pleasant, but the quality of the classes we got versus what we paid didn’t equate at all. I’ve since found a private instructor with very reasonable pricing and the quality of the lessons is much better. Plus, we don’t have to worry about losing money due to a zero tolerance policy. I know our circumstance is a little different and most people don’t seem to have problems with the Y, but we won’t be using them again.

Overall the YMCA in Pelham is great. I only wish they would offer the eGym so I do not have to drive to Greystone. Why iwas Pelham not selected to offer their members the eGym?

I love coming here to swim. Everyone is so very nice. Today the heater was broken and there was no way I could swim in ice cold water. Is there a reason why the heater has been lacking? I have noticed this before several times. Thank you!

Walk in and the guy at the desk PULLS DOWN his mask and tells me I have to wear a mask. Lady sitting right next to him at the front desk is eating her lunch obviously not wearing a mask. Not a single person in the weight room is wearing a mask yet he won’t let me in cause I’m not wearing a mask. Having areas in a building where you have to wear a mask but other areas in the same building that you do not is like having a peeing section in a pool.

Pelham y is the best I've been a member one year this month.I attend silver sneakers class, and water aerobics and love these classes.The instructor Judy and Lydia are my kind of instructors, just right .They give excellent workouts.I need the help of them and the y.m.c.a workout equipment.
