Mike (and his team) in service is truly the absolute best! He has never let me down even when he is super busy or something doesn't go the way it should (stuff happens) he does the right thing and even does his best to educate me with what is going on with my car. Thank you Mike!

My husband found the truck he wanted here and Rolando made the whole experience easy and completely painless. I had not personally ever bought a car at a dealership. I had been warned that they were gonna try and charge hidden fees and manipulate in some sorta way. We told Rolando what we wanted to pay for the truck and that we had our own financing and he made the transaction happen while providing top notch friendly service. 10/10 highly recommend.

Customer service? What's that? As a commercial truck customer and private owner i recommend you stay away. I don't know why this dealership has a phone number listed because getting hold of anyone in service is impossible for several reasons: 1.) No one answers the phone and you're on hold for 15 minutes or more which wouldn't be too big of an issue if, 2.) No one has EVER called me back when they said they would or returned messages I've been forced to leave on voicemail or with another service advisor who won't be able to help you because,. 3.) For some unknown reason if the service advisor who is assigned to your vehicle isn't there your vehicle doesn't exist. On one occasion one of our trucks was there for weeks and I tried to follow up and find out what was going on. After being on hold for 10 minutes I was told that they couldn't find any information on the truck or what if anything had been done and that I would have to wait two weeks for the service advisor to come back from vacation in order to find out what was going on. Bad customer service is tolerable if the work is good. It's not. Almost every truck we have taken there has to go back to be redone. The real kick to the pride is that they will try to schedule the rework out for weeks when they can "fit it in". So a vehicle they've already had for weeks and not worked on, then didn't fix correctly, you now have to wait another few weeks for them to work on. Average time our trucks spend at this dealership just waiting to get worked on is 6-8 weeks, then another 3-4 weeks for parts, then another couple weeks for the work to be done. Just to have to fight over warranty because they don't seem to understand what it does and doesn't cover. Diesel owners beware you will need to know more about your engine and emissions warranty than they do or they will try to stick you with a $5000 dollar bill that should be covered by warranty. I like Chevrolet trucks and have owned several but I can't recommend people buy them as long as this is the kind of dealership that exists.

I agree completely with Dexter's review. I have a Chevy Bolt EV and took it in in a Monday to have the battery replaced (a recall). They had the car all week and did not work on it until Friday and then the car/battery updated so they couldn't do all the work so they had the car over the weekend. When I picked it up at 12:45 on the following Monday the guy who I checked it in with was not there and neither was the guy I talked to on the phone. There was only ONE person at the service desk at the noon hour and I had to wait for him to finish with another customer. He didn't have the paperwork for the car and said they other service person would email me and I left my email with him. It took him nearly 15 minutes to find my car. When I drove off I realized that they had only charged the car to less than 1/4 capacity. I barely made it from their location to an appointment and then home. If I lived in Eagle River I would not have made it. I am very disappointed in their service.

They refused me service for an oil change because they were concerned that they might get a bad review due to me being annoyed that they don't mention anywhere that don't don't deal with check engine lights on Saturdays. DON'T GO HERE, you'll get better service from a dead slug.

Really wish I had checked the other reviews before my dad took my car in. They've had it for 3 weeks and to say their customer service has been lacking is a huge understatement. For some reason you can only get updates from the person who checked your car in when you dropped it off, so if that person is on a lunch break or off that day you're outta luck. They also don't call you back when they say they will. I don't know much about cars but whatever they did didn't fix the problem I took it there for. Because of my experience from a customer service standpoint alone I won't ever be back nor recommend them.

The absolute worst auto shop in Anchorage. I bought my vehicle from the dealership so I mistakenly brought it in for routine maintenance. After an oil change and looking about getting my spare tire put back under the car I got my car back with the driver side trim panel falling off. When I brought it up to get them to just replace the clip so I could drive home they said that's how it was when I brought it in. It was literally dragging on one end there was no way it would have survived the drive there as it was. Couldn't escalated the situation because the manager was not in that day. I had to remove the trim panel in order to drive home. Will never return to this location.Service: Oil change

They tried to charge us 5500 and quoted 20-24 hours of work. Said they'd have to drop the engine. I had several leaks. They said they'd have it done that week. Then we tell them we had warranty... that's when it went down hill. They could no longer charge the same prices, they admitted to having to," change a bunch of prices and pick different parts since warranties are picky." We were then denied the warranty. They kept the vehicle for 2 weeks at first trying to get the warranty, and then held it for another week after Kendall, my original car sellers (their mechanic had a broken arm so sent us here) forced them to release the car and sent us to Swickard. Who did it in 9 man hours, took 4 days after it was approved for warranty, and the total was only 3500. So Chevy of south anchorage held my car hostage for almost a month, lied about getting our rental reimbursed, tried to overcharge us by 2000, quoted us 20-24 hours when another mechanic did it in 9, lied about dropping the engine, and shows how corrupt they are. Don't go here. Unless you have a car you want to lemon law because then it'll be guaranteed.

We have a 2019 Silverado. We live in on the Kenai Peninsula. First, don't buy from Chevy if you live out of Anchorage because if you have trouble like we have, you end up having to have it towed all of the time to Anchorage because Chevy doesn't allow anyone else to do warranty work. As this truck has gotten older, we are never sure if the multiple hundreds mile tow is covered until it gets to Anchorage and sits in their lot for a couple of weeks, and then is towed into their shop - of which they charge for doing - for diagnostics and then it is towed back out - which they again charge for doing - and leave it to sit until they can work on it when they get the parts that they of course no longer keep in inventory. The risk of getting stuck with the potentially large tow bill once they do their diagnostics leaves them in complete control of the situation. We have had 3 episodes of electrical issues with this truck: once the headlights just quit working while we were driving late in the afternoon one winter day away between Homer and Kenai, once the battery prematurely went bad because the bed lights randomly kept coming on under the tonneau cover without our triggering this and of course no one could see this because of the cover, and most recently, the starter went out. Now, the back window is leaking! We purchased the extended warranty, thank goodness, and during its most recent stay at its second home at Chevy South Anchorage, the service personnel apparently had no idea we had an extended warranty - or didn't care (computers don't work? poor data management? lazy?), suggesting we owed over $1000 for the failed starter. When we reminded them we had the extended warranty, they said, "Oh, that's only for the power train". What? What does the power train START with? Then they proceeded to not communicate with us regarding the fact that they could get the starter for an extra $30 for an expedited fee in 1-2 days or for free if we waited 1-1.5 weeks. When we called them back after not hearing from them after several days, they said they couldn't get us, so they just did the "regular" shipping despite there was no indication we had ever had a text, cell call or landline call on any of our phones. We only go to Chevy of South Anchorage because the towing under the warranty from Homer costs us $75 out of pocket if you go over to Swickard, but the service is no better over there as we initially worked with them. Chevy just doesn't care any more. They don't keep things in stock even for relatively new vehicles still under warranty, they don't recognize the unique situations of selling and repairing vehicles in Alaska, and they nickel and dime you. Imagine if you went to the hairdresser and they said you had to pay to sit in the chair and then pay to get out of it? Some things are the cost of doing business and they don't do themselves any favors by approaching their billing this way. Ironically, as we waited for our truck this last time, we watched as a couple of women left the service department, crossing the parking lot. One woman was laughing and talking about getting her car back. Then she realized she had not gotten her key. Just then, the service employee came running with it, yelling for her. She took it and thanked him and as turned away, she said, "You aren't going to charge me for this, too, are you!?"

I understand all the poor reviews ahead of mine. I don't know if car dealerships have changed but I had such a good experience here recently. I wanted to check out the new Chevy trucks to see how prices were. When I arrived a salesman came out and introduced himself (Chris J). He was not pushy at all and just casually told me about inventory they have and what they are expecting to get in. I wasn't pressured to look at anything or take anything for a test drive. It turns out the truck I wanted was set to come in later that week. Chris took my information and sent me a text a few days later that the truck did come in from the port and sent me a few photos. I ended up coming back and giving the truck a test ride. The entire interaction was very positive and actually enjoyable.

Horrible customer service. Left a message without ever getting return call, ended up calling 3 times before someone finally answered. They desperately need new management!

As a Mechanic for Ford for 2yrs, and the US Navy for 10yrs. I will never bring my vehicle here again. I recently moved to Anchorage and my tools were being shipped so that is why I didn't do it myself. That being said. Here is why I will never return:-They charge $200 per hour for labor which is unheard of. This is a Chevy dealership, not a Ferrari maintenance shop. Unreal.-The parts I supplied were not used which were in the service request and verified by the mechanic (Frank) over the phone. They used the cheapest oil filter and I don't even know what oil they put in. (I had oil filter, oil, and additive supplied that they neglected to use.)-I brought it in to have the brakes inspected and they didn't inspect them, or even remove the wheels for that matter. I could tell because the dirt was still on the lug nuts holding the tire to the hub.-Shane, the service manager tried to sell me on a coolant inspection (another $200) when I was already having the entire coolant system flushed. Inherently, that is already happening while flushing a system since it is already hooked up to a pressurized machine to flush the system. -Notified me that my front wheel bearings were bad and attempted to charge me another $1600 for those when in fact I replaced those before I drove up so I'm not sure how OEM bearings went bad in less than a year. I lifted the vehicle after to inspect myself and as suspected, they were still rock solid. -They quoted and tried to replace the Evaporation canister for the fuel system stating it would cost $800. $400 for the part and $400 for labor. Mind you the OEM item is $179 from Autozone and $79 from Amazon. It is a 15 minute Job once the vehicle is in the air. I've replaced many throughout my years as a professional mechanic. -Lastly, I asked for a quote for new tires and Shane quoted $540 per tire, where the tire shop down the street quoted me $420 per tire and same day service. Same brand, same tire, same everything, $120 difference. $480 up charge just for tires. This place is an absolute scam. Coming from a professional standpoint, absolutely do not bring your vehicles here for maintenance. But hey, at least the maintenance supervisor Shane can look you in the eyes and shake your hand like you're buddies on your way out the door.
