DO NOT USE THIS HERTZ, DOLLAR CAR RENTAL, THRIFTY GENERAL!The car we rented had some bad steering and tire issues - the Hertz main customer care line couldn't do anything to help because this Hertz is a licensee that is not affiliated to the main Hertz. We tried and tried to call for help but no one answers their phone or returns messages. The General Manager, Anissa, has still not returned any of our calls and we are finally home. We can't get a refund or anything because this small Anchorage Hertz has it's own independant billing and process that is seperate from the main Hertz and the other companies.HIGHLY ADVISE TO NOT USE THIS RENTAL CAR LOCATION! Staff at the counter tell us to call the 1-800 number to file a claim with billing but it's a ploy to have you walk away without any help. The anchorage office never answers their phones!

Absolutely horrible! We rent a car at hertz anchorage. We only checked the front side when we picked up the vehicle. The car has over 50,000 miles on it and really old mode(2015 model), also smells bad. We trusted Hertz brand. But the agent says there is a scratch on the rear bumper when we returned the vehicle. There is no accident or anything which could caused scratch from my rental. It is on me since we did not check thoroughly. It is only a minor scratch without any dent nor any damage. Check the picture. Now comes the ridiculous part.Hertz anchorage charged me $7000 for this scratch.1. Over $2000 for the paint.2. Over $2000 for lost of service due to repair3. Over $2000 due to loss of value to the vehicle.Are you kidding me? This is RIPOFF! Keep away from this business as much as you could. Awful experience! I guess we learned a hard lesson. Never trust Hertz any more!

I'm very disappointed and I feel like I've been scammed. I rented a car with them, I booked online and I payed at the rent a car place, then I returned the car and everything was good. I payed with a credit card the same amount that it appears in the bill (the insurance was included). Days after, I saw on my bank account that they charged me another amount, I contacted with them about what happened, if they saw anything wrong on the car and I received an email apologizing for charging extra charges. I asked them about that extra charges but they didn't reply me back... I didn't sign for any extra, if the car was in good conditions (like it was, one employee checked it when I returned it) they cannot charge any that is not in the contract. So it's been a week that I'm trying to contact with somebody but nobody is replying... so no, I don't recommend this place because it's a totally scam. They take advantage from you because you are not longer in the country to charge you extras that you didn't know about it, you didn't sign for that and you didn't allow them to take from your bank account

Pepa made my experience at Hertz ANC exceptional. He warmly welcomed me to Alaska, quickly assisted me with getting a car, provided helpful information on the area and made me feel like a valued customer. Pepa - thank you for an amazing experience, and to everyone else, I encourage you to rent with Hertz in ANC!

Everything was a step above a typical car rental experience, so they earned 5 stars.There was no wait at the counter and Pepa was friendly and quick to help me, even late in the evening on a Monday. Pepa also noticed hertz status and provided more recognition than I expected which was nice.The vehicle was a late model Toyota RAV4 in good shape and everything was clean and working Return was also a breeze the next night and most important, there were no extra unexpected charges or nickel and dining that you might get at a less reputable place. Recommended.

Pepa's customer service was above and beyond! he was helpful, friendly and sincerely cared about his customers! I'd use Hertz again. I wish all of your customers were treated like he treated us.

Rented a car today from the Hertz airport location and Pepa gave outstanding service. He was a pleasure to work with and made the rental process easy to do. Way to go Hertz for hiring such a friendly and good service oriented employee. The car was in great condition and full of gas.

Thanks to Jerome, a very caring and concerned employee who put my safety first. As I was checking out my rental vehicle, he noticed a missing rear window wiper and immediately had me transferred to another vehicle. As it happened, rain started the moment I left the rental agency in the new car. His attention to safety put me in a safe vehicle at just the right time. Thank you so much, Jerome.

This location was amazing. Pepa is the best!! He immediately recognized my Hertz status and my Army affiliation. I travel often and I rarely see the level of service, friendliness and attention to detail that Pepa showed me. 5+ stars!

My first time visiting Alaska and I was overpacked for the car I had originally rented. But Mark at the Hertz desk at the airport worked with me to get me sized up for the right vehicle to make the most out of my trip. Definitely owe a big thanks to him for caring for the customers.

Terrible terrible! I had a reservation and I called customer service to inform that I would be late as my plane was super delayed which was out of my control. I was told my Angelique and by Max the manager that I did not have to worry that my reservation would be saved and that the facility closes at 1:30am so I will be able to get my car. I arrived and the attendant took all my info and even asked me if I wanted a 4x4 vehicle then she said she needed to speak to her manager. When she came back she told me that they were not honoring my reservation as I was late even after I explained that I called. She recommended that I check the other rental companies. I also attempted to call the local office several times and no one answered. Terrible
