The town of Ketchikan, AK is one of my favorites. It is a very quaint port town. Plenty of shops, places to eat and a few museums. Creek Street is stunning, and you must walk the whole street if you visit.

A good first stop to pickup a map and get advice for a self-guided walking tour of Ketchikan. The agent showed us her recommended route which led us past the sites we hoped to see: the fish ladder, the city park, both museums, back to creek street—no paid tour necessary.

The Ketchikan Visitors Bureau is right on the terminal walking distance from the ship. They are well knowledgeable about the area you like shopping,restaurants,sites and many other things including excursion trips. You can get a discount book it's free it have so many deals you can imagine.
