I just need to express that I am totally appalled over the total lack of compassion I recently experienced while showing up at Apache Junction location for a food box. My friend and I are both homeless, and we were in need of food. We were denied any help at all because we were HOMELESS. WE could not provide proof of residence or a lease agreement because we are homeless....without 4 walls and a roof to protect us, to keep us warm, but do have a place to prepare food if we had some to prepare. We were actually told "This is the Salvation Army," as if to mean that they don't help the homeless. You must have a home in order to receive a food box from us. I then asked if you all helped with housing or shelter, and was again told no, you don't help with those services and was handed a piece of paper with some numbers on it.Where and what are our donations being used for exactly? I am just completely confused and baffled by the total lack of compassion and how we left there without a morsel of food and not a bit of service offered to us at all...because they are "The Salvation Army."

Michelle and the volunteers in the office do a great job trying to serve the community. They work short-handed but they try hard to get the job done.

I've received help before and thought they were amazing & kind people! And when I went today it was close to 3 and I was told I couldn't receive a food box because it was only I til 11:30. Why does the web say until 3pm? My daughter and I sat outside with no AC in our truck for 15 minutes to be denied help when we needed it the most... I'm not going to lie I was pretty upset I cried on the way home.
