Can't shop peacefully when you have a bald manager following you around.

This used to be a great store under the old manager. They run adds and always run out of the product! They used to open another register if more than 3 people were in line. Not anymore! Usually, one register open, which forces you to use self checkout! I'm sure that's the intent!

I was getting ready to checkout at a lane with a Cashier named Terri at the 90 S. Val Vista Dr. Gilbert location when Terri turned the card terminal over before I went to put my phone number info and proceeded to do MY survery in front of me for MY experience. When I told her I could have done my own survery myself and how rude that was, she responded "Really? Because no one else has complained about it." I don't appreciate her taking it upon herself to rate MY experience on MY visit. The survery is proof things need improvement... be better, Terri.

Rudest pharmacist ever. Extremely condescending and seemed unconvienced to help. I immediately switched pharmacies because of that one employee.

This grocery store is less crowded than Fry's which is literally right across the street BUT ,they're both expensive I'd rather shop at Fry's to be honest reason being because there are always more cashier's available. And a TINY bit better prices but honestly the pricing is close at both. Produce is about equal at both as far as how it looks but you have more to choose at Fry's.I'm going to admit I'm partial to Fry's too because my oldest son worked at Safeway years ago ...a number of years ago,it was his very first job. He was SO excited. They let him go out of the blue after he had been working there for months with NO issues because the managers didn't like his hair! I'm not kidding! It was disgusting. He had joined the union and I had him call them. Anyway they told the managers it was ridiculous and they couldn't fire my son who had zero issues there in months only because they didn't like his hair. So he was told he could have his job back. But, as a young 17 or 18 year old he felt awkward with these managers disliking his looks and wanting him gone so he said no thanks he didn't want to go back. ?. And I was like screw this place, my mama bear instincts came out BIG TIME. We live walking distance away from there so IF I have to get something fast I run in there. But I'd rather not. A business that has management that doesn't want to help build young people up and guide them but instead knocks them down only because they don't like how they look is not my kind of place . So, that's my two cents. Thanks for reading if you got this far ;)

All I can say is wow I am shocked by Safeway this morning. I had a full cart not one cashier in sight. I asked for one the girl that running self checkout didn't know where anybody was. So I ended up having to self check out my entire basket even with the girl at the self-checkout did not even helping me just standing at her little work stand taking to another employee. Halfway through my check out the manager finally comes over opens one of the registers for an employee to check out but not a paying customer. This is total b******* they never ever have check out people available at this store it's always a self-checkout. If that's the case I want my paycheck from Safeway for checking out my own items and being a cashier. Hire some more people pay them right and put people at the cashiers to check people out not the self checkout b*******. I will never ever shop at the store ever again and I hope they fail

This morning, I stopped by Safeway to pick up something on my way to work. As I was headed to checkout, there was one cash register open, along with the self-checkout. The customer who was at the register was leaving, so I chose to go to the register instead of self check out. When I got to the employee(Teri), didn't look very happy, so I asked her how her day was going. She then proceeded to tell me how it would be better if customers like myself would use the self-checkout instead of making her do something I was totally capable of doing when she had other things to do. She went on about how I was inconveniencing her throughout the few minutes it took to check out. I was stunned and quite frankly, it ruined my day.

I was accused of cheating about the sale avocados. There was two different sizes and the larger ones were mixed with the smaller ones and the larger ones didn't have a sign on them. The produce people didn't put a sign on the larger ones. Bad customer service. Most of the employees same to hate their Jobs there. Sad!!!

We like shopping at Safeway. But We are getting old, so we ask close family members to pick what we need so we don't have make several trips out. Not sure if they got new thing about refusing to let a shopper pick multiple on sale items or what. They just gave our son-in-law a hassle & refused to allow him to get what we needed. We had to go shopping on Sunday. They were really rude to him.

Always nice and friendly crew, your store is always very clean, and the isles are easy to maneuver in and out with my cart.

Not my normal near by grocery store, but after trying to find my regular dog food at my grocery store, Walmart, and Petsmart I stopped into a Safeway. Didn't find the food I was looking for (shelves were empty everywhere) but found selection and pricing to be similar for other random products. I liked clean aisles, and seemed to have significantly fewer random displays impedimg cart flow which I appreciate.

Generally I have had a good experience shopping at this Safeway, but during Valentines Day, they raised the prices of a dozen roses from $12.99 to $21.99. I'm a frequent shopper and buy roses every week or two, I was turned off that they decided to raise their prices tremendously for one day. It's not nice to do that to loyal customers when you're blatantly raising the price by almost double, not just for inflation or cost of living. What's even worse is that they picked the better looking roses and were charging $40 for those and what are normally good looking roses for $12.99 were horrible looking probably would only last a couple days before wilting.
