Came in to return a auto transport. This move has been totally a challenge. Uhaul called the day before i was to pickup my truck to say they had none in the area. End of month and everyone is moving. I could deal with that. A truck was available 2 days later but there was not car transport available. The evening i was going to start my cross country drive a transport became available about 2 hours away from my home. I delayed leaving and picked up the transport. It was not much out of the way (along my route). When i got to Mesa, i immediately went to drop off the transport. Makes it easier to unload a truck without the transport blocking the ramp. Did i mention i also had reserved a 10x10 at this location. First thing the service kid tells me is that there is not 10x10 available. I complain but he states that i only reserved it, did not rent it. SAID UHAUL RENTS (RESERVES) STUFF THEY DON"T HAVE ALL THE TIME. I am a bit irritated as i now have a 20ft truck with 'stuff' i can't put anywhere. Then the tells me i need to get the car off the transport .. no joke. So i ask him to remove the straps that UHAUL put on when i loaded the car. He tells me i have to pay him $20 to do that. Now this may be a UHAUL policy. I get they can't drive the car off the carrier, but the ratching for the straps tends to be pretty rusted. I lost it with the kid, he threw the paperwork at me and said he would not deal with me. I get that, but $20 to undo the straps. And honestly, i had to do 2600 miles in less then 3 days to make an appointment that would have been easy to make if i had gotten the equipment when originally reserved.

We had a hitch installed here. The manager complained while at the front desk that he'd have to do it himself since none of the employees could. After the job was "done" we had it inspected at another U-Haul facility that installed hitches. It was apparent he had not installed the center bolt supporting the hitch to the frame. We made multiple calls and left multiple messages with the staff, but never got called back. We would expressly never recommend having a hitch installed here.

I gave this U haul location my debit card to reserve a u-box storage space for my daughter who was moving across country to live in Az with us. I paid $1600 to have this box transported here and because I found another place that offered to store it for $55 a month, U haul matched that. It was a fiasco when it arrived. Once it was stored, my daughter set up the account in her name with her card number for direct withdraw. After 4 months I realized they were pulling $126 out of my account every month without permission and double charging me. $500 was withdrawn before I realized it. After being put in the phone que for 30 min, I was able to reach a Manager named Jillian. She referred me to Jeff the GM. Jeff assured me he would refund the incorrect amount within 24-48 hours back into my account. 3 days later it had not been done. I phoned back and went another 45 minutes in the phone que before I got Jillian again. She told me Jeff was incorrect and it would probably take another week to show up. So I waited and called after it still had not been refunded after a week. I went back into the phone que for another 30 minutes on hold until I got Jillian again. She told me that she did not remember me and that she speaks to too many people everyday and that she would leave a message for Jeff. No one ever returned my call. After a couple more days I called several more times and had to wait on hold in the phone que for 2 HOURS and 15 MINUTES and was finally transferred to a customer service Rep in another location who told me I can thank the Government for my phone frustration because we are paying too much unemployment and they are short staffed because nobody wants to work. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I ranted for a few minutes explaining what I had been through and he sympathized. He said it was ridiculous and gave me the info for someone in corporate. In the mean time he set up a time for that location to pull the box so we could go and remove everything to cancel the contract. My daughter called that morning and we were assured they had pulled it. I paid someone to meet us with a truck and guess what? It wasn't pulled. So the kids behind the counter ignored us and just said they weren't certified to get it down. So we rescheduled and it wasn't out again. I made my daughter go up early and tell them we were not leaving until it was down. I sent my husband and another truck. I have never seen such unbelievable customer service. These people just do not care and the phone que is unforgivable. I will never use U Haul again and I will be filing a claim against them for illegally taking money out of my account. I have yet to receive a phone call back from either of the managers about the issue. They just put you back in the phone que and hope you'll give up. I have never been so upset with an organization. Do not use this location. I have never been shown so little respect for all of the things that went wrong. They don't even try to make up an excuse and the Manager's are conveniently never there. Never again!!!!!!! Shame on all of you for just being bad people.

I agree with other reviewers that front desk employees of Main & Lindsay U-haul Moving (atleast those I've encountered) look and act like they don't want to be there or don't want to see you. During a recent transaction on rental, the owner said that if I'm booking a rental online, I might have kicked someone else from their reservation. I was flabbergasted at his knowledge on how software works. Just know that you will be dealing with some low IQ and EQ folks. Be a lamb and suspend all your intelligence and judgement when you walk into those doors.

I had and appointment for 2 months for hitch installation and it never arrived. I showed up for my appointments 2 times to find out that the hitch was never delivered. I needed it for a move. I wish they would’ve communicated with me about other options sooner because it’s too late now. Moving is stressful enough, I don’t need my time wasted like this!

Edited to add: I contacted uhaul via Facebook and was connected with the store finally. The problem was then quickly resolved.We had a hitch installed on our Jeep here. They did poor work and messed up the wiring for the taillights/blinkers. They do not answer the phone or emails. My husband had to drive there to make an appointment to have it fixed but I was unable to make the time they offered my husband and we were unable to get ahold of anyone to cancel that appointment. It's hard to find time to make the 20+ drive just to make an appointment to fix work that they messed up. I just wish I could get through on the phone to make an appointment.

I was just refilling my propane tank. There were 3 attendants, 3 people in line, 2 people renting trucks. It took all 3 to do the rentals and finally, after about 20 minutes, one of them finally asked if they could help me. I was the only other customer. It literally took them 3 people to do 2 rentals and all they were doing was a drop off. And then the man who helped me had an injury and needed my help to fill my tank. I had to do all the lifting. First time ever. So much for customer service.

Horrible customer service from the girls in the front. Seems like they were irritated they had to do their job. Go elsewhere for better service.

When I said this post was subject to change, I was hoping to be able to increase my rating because I really don't like giving poor ratings. Unfortunately, I have to lower it. Not only have I not heard back from them, I've called the manager and left a message hoping he'd step in but I got no response. Even their support people logged 2 messages for him to call and nothing. Come to find out, someone along the way didn't even order our hitch but then someone realized it, ordered it but didn't tell us it was on backorder. So tonight with the help from a manager of the day at uhaul online, he found one for me at a different location and I'll be getting installed Friday, at a Chandler location, to which I'll be happy to give a good rating to. However, for this Mesa location a big fat 0 if I could! Worse possible customer service at every level! This rating is subject to change as I'm still trying to get a hitch installed on my BMW SUV, that i ordered 2 weeks ago and set an appointment for it to be installed today at 8 am. I called their call center yesterday afternoon to confirm my appointment. They said, they weren't sure if the hitch was in, but it could be at the store and just not in their inventory online. I asked if someone could call and confirm with me before today because I had to make arrangements (some of us do work) and she said she'd put a note on my account to have them call. After no call last night, my husband and I drive there in 2 cars to get there by 8 am, only to find out they didn't have the hitch in yet. When we asked why no one called us, the front desk person just said she did not know. She gave us the managers card with all his information, so I called this early evening and left a message. I'll update my review once they've contacted me and have installed the hitch, hopefully this experience will take a turn for the better!

Jeff and His staff are always respectful professional and I truly appreciate the great customer service They always give when I go in there. I rent anywhere from 5-10 times a month and it’s always great! I’d rather drive an extra 10Minutes to go to this location. Highly recommend for trailers and uhaul trucks!Thank you all for always being accommodating!

I ordered the truck and all of the equipment online. When I arrive to the store to pick it up, I was informed that the dolly and other equipment was not in stock in the store, even though it was listed as available online. By this time it was too late to order from another location. So I had to move everything without a dolly and other equipment. It made my move extremely harder than it needed to be. The owner didn’t even apologize and to make things worse, I was still charged $7 for a dolly! Worst U-haul experience ever. Trust me, go to another location.

Been dealing with multiple uhauls while moving friends, family and myself in the past few months and this one was by far the best. Super relaxed stress free environment. Easiest part of my move.

I just bought a new SUV and had them install a hitch, of course they didn’t give me the right wiring so it turned into a nightmare trying to find someone to fix it. Made an appointment here - not only were they super nice, they completed it quickly which was amazing for my super busy schedule. definitely recommend them and will be back!

Caution: Staff do not wear protective face masks in the store, they believe that a very small piece of plexiglass will protect them you! When asking about trailer rentals. They were very rude and gave me the run around, and finally informed me that they had no trailers at this location.
