New World Drums manufactures playable art. A small, family-owned workshop in Eureka Springs, AR where we produce handmade hand drums, and every single one is unique. In addition to drums you will find various woodcrafts, all made in the workshop. Using a variety of woods, leather, finishes and dyes ensures that when you purchase an instrument from New World Drums you are guaranteed to have the only one. While we can recreate color patterns, use the same techniques to dye the heads, they don't come out the same. Our drums come equipped with Instant Slide Tuning. This allows you to change the pitch of your drum instantly by sliding a tuning bead. No lacing patterns. No tools. No special techniques. Slide the bead and the pitch changes.

The Pocket Ashiko is beautiful and sturdy enough for kids - I teach children and they also love this drum - but still a comfortable size for adults to hold and play. It has a gorgeous tone and I love the tuning option!
