Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country.


The chain has momentum on its side, as visits to Trader Joe's rose 9.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, almost three times the 3.2% gain across the wider grocery business, according to Placer.ai. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.


Based in Monrovia, California, Trader Joe's now runs more than 600 stores across 42 states and Washington, D.C. The nine newest additions spread across eight states, with two landing in New York:

  • - Sarasota, Florida: 8199 S. Tamiami Trail, Unit 100
  • - Chicago, Illinois: 804 W. Montrose Ave.
  • - Quincy, Massachusetts: 111 General McConville Way
  • - Farmington Hills, Michigan: 27658 Middlebelt Road
  • - Syracuse, New York: 3515 W. Genesee St.
  • - Yonkers, New York: 2481 Central Park Ave.
  • - University Heights, Ohio: 2643 Warrensville Center Road
  • - West Jordan, Utah: 5561 W. 7800 S.

The company has not set grand opening dates for any of the nine. They add to a larger batch the grocer announced earlier in the year, stretching from Seattle to New Orleans:
