I had a terrible experience with Thong's Jewellery. I dropped my wedding ring off to have it resized and to have one of the small lab grown diamonds replaced.
When I picked it up, I noticed the small ruby was missing from under the bridge and brought it back right away.
When explaining, the staff was nonchalant and unapologetic saying the person resizing "probably just didn't notice the stones " and I was reassured "it was probably in the machine".
As professional jewellers, I would expect a person to examine the piece of jewellery(especially something as important as a wedding ring) they are working with.
I was upset in the moment because as I explained then, I lost my husband in March and our wedding ring means the world to me.The ruby was his birthstone.
I called a few days later to be told the stone was lost because the machine had been cleaned out. And again, without apologies, I was told I would receive a new ruby.
The ring is of sentimental value as I would imagine most jewelry is. When bringing the ring in, I would have expected it to be treated with care. Instead, I felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation and how careless Thong's Jewellery has been with something so important to me and my family, something of very high quality and something completely irreplaceable.
When I got my ring back, I notice small scratches on the band where the new Ruby was put in. I'm very disappointed that I wasn't offered a refund at the very least but mostly shocked I didn't even receive an apology.
I emailed the store in case communication amongst staff members is an issue and didn't receive a response.
I would warn against bringing anything to be repaired here that holds sentimental value, this store is unprofessional and careless.

Local business they spend the time with you to make sure you get what you need.. if you have an issue (i did have an issue and they deal with it properly) .. in my opinion there is no other reason to shop for jewelry in Campbell River ?? thanks for the amazing service !

Ladies at the front were very helpful and very welcoming. I had purchased a ring from them over 10 years ago and they helped me resize it for me a couple times. 10/10 would recommend.

Took my watch for a battery replacement. Ended up getting it back with rear cover all scratched up (deep scratches). This was a new watch and all they offered was a 10% off the bill. If you dont have the right tool to take the back cover off, just say it so, i would have gone to other places. Horrible experience.
