I simply want to call the local branch and ask a simple question.......No, I have to call this computerized system probably in Toronto or somewhere and put on hold for 20 minutes. Why cant I simply call the bank!!?? Service may be good but you have lost it with this phone system, let us just call a branch!!!

Since January 2023, the ScotiaBank has become so incompetent, I cannot believe it. It seems that most of the experts retired and, in my opinion, hired the first person who was next in the line.
To do a simple task as to put a POA on an account, change addresses and update accounts for the POA seems to be a daunting challenge for the very inexperienced staff, the Branch Manager included. Their hours are very inconvenient, closing at 2 for most of the week is ridiculous!
There is one employee left, a teller, who is amazing and I would bet is steering the ship.
So, if anyone wants their money held hostage or wants a drink of water or tea, bank there!

Absolutely worthless branch. One week after I go in person to pickup my card, my account got frozen and was told I need to go to the branch again to verify my ID. I went for a second time, and one week have passed and my account is still frozen. I call the 1800 number, they say I have to go AGAIN (3rd time) to verify me. Worthless scums.

the staff are very nice and capable but you have to do something about your phone system it is not designed to help contact people at your branch level if someone is absent why not forward the call to another representative who can help rather than have to dial 1-800 numbers?

No one at the Branch has authority to negotiate! Mortgage rates are not bad but they need to be able to deal openly with customers.

Just the worst experience imaginable!! I normally bank at the scotia,my experience here has made me double think ever using scotia for anything else ever again.We had to deal with a person named Catherine C on an already organized mortgage. She lost the paperwork numerous times,didnt contact us back for a month.didnt get the signatures on time. then left on vacation & didnt give the remainder of the paperwork to anyone else, then comes back from holidays and emails me & says 'what paperwork?'
