Yesterday, the minced beef turned into “Beef Stewing Cubes”, with 0 protein, 0 carbs, and 0 fat.
The price was inflated as well. It was supposed to be the same price with around 1kg of minced beef.
I did not end up getting those. Whoever printed and inspected the item labelling shall be questioned.

I had a really truly very super bad experience at Safeway Burquitlam today at self checkout which a lady thought that I scanned all of my items & but I only have scanned the bag of cheeto puffs & I really truly felt that the lady was literally accused me of me stealing the 2 bars of chocolate especially when I didn't have a chance to scan the 2 Cadbury mini egg chocolate bars. :( One lady was very much for understanding & even more better & clearly of the sales of the Cadbury chocolate bars for buy 1 for $2.99 or buy 2 for $2.50 & the other lady that was helping me that I thought that she was accusing me of stealing chocolate bars especially when I didn't even had a chance to scan them, she clearly doesn't speak English very well & it was just language barrier & she got mad at me by saying that she had told me that the discount of $2.50 for 2 Cadbury chocolate bars are there in instant savings, she obviously didn't quite understand of what I was asking & wanting the confirm that the $2.50 of discount of & for 2 Cadbury chocolate bars.

I bought some roses and told them that I needed to hide them for one day for a surprise for my wife (no other chance to sneak out), and asked politely if they could put a little bag of water at the bottom. Literally every florist I've ever used my entire life will put a little thing of water at the bottom. If nothing already, it's easy to just wrap some plastic to make a little pocket at the bottom.
The florist refused point blank just saying no I won't do that. I pleaded. Nope. took a gamble that they would survive, and nope, they didn't. Waste of money. No roses for my wife.
I'm only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because previous experiences here have been quite good.

While I'm a Safeway fan, I'm not a fan of it's location. Concord gave me a ticket for parking a few times at this location. Not once near 4 hours. If you plan on coming here by car, make sure it's only once. I'll shop elsewhere to avoid the headache. Sorry Safeway.

My husband and I shop here when he comes over for work purposes. We are from the island and have never been treated so rudely and as ignorant as we are every time we are in this store. We are overly polite everytime we are in here shopping but today @ 8:50am HALIDA was an absolute nightmare to deal with rude as all hell... we will go shop at Walmart from now on.
It's a shame the union protects this kinda behavior. WE WONT BE BACK

The Safeway Extra on Clarke Road in Burquitlam is a fantastic grocery store that has everything you could possibly need. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this is not just any regular Safeway. Nice place to buy foods when you running by home. Nice quality of foods but little bit pricey. This specific store has a bigger selection especially in the deli section.
Good selection of fresh meat and fish.
They have an in-store bakery. Their bread is good quality and is not as sweet as factory made.
They have a liquor store as well.
Free parking in the building.
Near a skytrain station.

This place has been my primary shopping place since I moved into the area in 2017.
The staff is super friendly, it's a bit overpriced, but the hot food bar sucks it's always empty and they never have the most popular items(Chicken Strips, Jalapeno Poppers, and stuff like that).
I Normally avoid their "bulk" food section but today I decided to get some Chocolate covered almonds. They were stale. They're clearly not rotating their stock properly.
I worked at a grocery store for 3 years, I know how much work goes into rotation, but it's pretty important. There's no "best before" sticker on the Almonds, as per the new government directive but the store manager could choose to make custom labels to make rotation easier.
TL;DR
Friendly staff, a bit overpriced, don't buy the bulk food

I have been to the store and i was served by a nice and beatiful black lady whose name was Aicha. She help me find the items i was looking for even though she was working at the bakery at the time. Some workers refused to help at first and she was kind enough to do it. We need more people like her in the store.
