I've been going to this store sporadically since 2009. It's changed a lot. (I remember when they used to have a rock climbing wall) I have gotten most of my camping gear here, and most of the shoes I buy came from this REI. The staff have always been helpful as well as very knowledgeable. If you need any gear for climbing, camping, or biking... This is definitely the place to go! Couldn't recommend it enough.

This is for the cycling department. They never seem to have much inventory as other REI locations. The product selection is poor if they ever have anything. It’s as if this location wants you to buy everything online at the REI webshop rather than stock up in store. I live in between this location and the Burbank location and foolishly thought they would have panniers in stock. They had three small camping type panniers and not one could hold my computer. So, guess I’m shipping to my house.

Pleasant environment to shop in. Fun to walk in and browse all their stuff. Lifetime membership is $30, definitely worth it. Some of their sales are great, if you cant afford to buy anything today, just wait for a sale. Their items tend to be of good quality and will last you a while. They have pretty much everything you need to spend time outdoors in any way! They even have books and maps. Emergency supplies, too.They even have a good selection of items for dogs!

Love REI, but for some reason the quality of staff at this location has been in decline. They used to all be friendly and helpful, but many of the recent hires are neither. The employee who rang me up didn't make eye contact or say hello (a first for this REI, really) and then struggled for a long time to remove the security sensor from a bag I wanted to buy, until finally, he asked if I saw another of the same bag. I said yeah, I’ll go get it. By the time I came back, he had removed the sensor for the first bag but we kindly asked if we could purchase the second bag I brought up in case the first one was punctured after all that struggle. Another employee tried to talk us out of it because he thought there was no difference, but we said we’d prefer the second one if possible, and he said, “Whatever you want,” and tossed it and walked away.

This is a great store with lots of great items. If you want to be active you want to check out what they have to offer to fill your needs. I went for some active wear footwear. They have quite a selection and I found something that works and is the seventh pair I have purchased over more than 20 years. I each case the footwear from boots to sandals were ready to wear with comfort immediately.

If I could give this place 0/5 stars I would. I went in looking for some hiking boots/shoes and the storefront person told me to go to the back. Cool. I go to the back and they’re slow, but there’s also quite some people and only 1/2 employees working the shoe section. Reasonable. I leave the shoe section and I decide to come back, the shoe section is now empty. One of the employees comes back and is helping someone, great! Almost my turn. Another employee asks the shoe section employee to help their gf find some stuff. Shoe employee kindly says that they’re not busy, ignoring the fact that I’ve been waiting for someone to help me while I’m the only one in the shoe section. I’ve had it, I left without even trying any shoes, without someone asking if I needed help and without the opportunity of asking for help.Bad experience.

Went in masked up to shoe dept. There were 5 of us seated waiting to be helped. A couple (guy and girl) were completely unmasked and talking and laughing loudly. Another guy has his masked pulled down on his chin. I see this all the time and management NEVER does a thing about it. So I pull my mask down. Then a lady working there tells me toMask up. When I point out that half the people in the show dept are unmasked a guy (employee) overhears me and accuses me of lying saying "that's impossible". So I get singled out and called a liar. Never shopping at REI again. This is what I get for trying to shop locally and with small companies. May as well join the Amazon borg and get good deals like everyone else instead of paying 20-30% more for the same made in China stuff that REI sells.

REI never fails me. My go-to place for all of my camping gear. I have never had any issues with my purchases. Solid place and friendly well informed staff.

Love the products. Do not love the the people there. Never felt so judged for returning something. Like I’m sorry it’s just too much. I’ve been in there with my Caucasian friends and there’s a huge difference from that to when I go in there by myself. Sadly no one notices.

Rei is a one stop shop for all the best gear. Great selection and always easy returns online and in store. Pricey but great gear, selection and service.

Excellent service & products, as per usual; this time I got a new bike helmet. In some areas, product supply and/or selection is low bc of Covid-19 impact on supply chains. Oh well!!

Pricy with staff who continually apologized for lack of inventory...As if I were experiencing something negative. I found this REI accidently while on an interview across the street...I was excited and looking forward to my first time visit until from entrance to exit I was continually apologized to. When I asked the gentleman at the exit if he were management and he answered that he'd been there 20 years I was hopeful that I'd found someone who could correct this obvious mistake that all the staff were making...Unfortunately he started making excuses why they were apologizing and dismissed my concerns with a canned," Thank you...Your input is important."I would like to notify the "Flagship" branch in the North in hopes that retraining for all staff at the Arcadia location will be immediate...I was impressed by the inventory and the product placement. All products were of the highest quality. Staff was knowledgeable...but I'm guessing on commission by the way I was dropped when another customer came in...
