“post.script. is such a gem of an SF store. It's so beautiful that just walking inside will put you in a good mood. I go in sometimes just to soak in the stunning style this place emanates. Every item in that store is so aesthetically gorgeous and useful too. Everything I've bought at post.script instantly becomes the centerpiece whatever room I put it in. If I had a tenth of the style of whomever curates the items at post.script, I would consider myself stylistically gifted.”

“The perfect place to visit during El Dia de los Muertos. They have practically everything, including sugar skulls, ceramic skulls and altar ornaments. Their skeleton figurine collection is impressive.”

“I've been gifted several of these lovely soy candles so I was excited when I spotted their storefront in San Francisco. I especially like their candles that come in a tin and they were on sale when I visited so I happily picked up a new one. I chose Dusk which they describe as: 8pm. Damp leaves, crisp air, powder and spice on a clear night. Woody, cool, and earthy. Black pepper, clary sage, palo santo, and blooming iris. I can't wait to smell this scent wafting through my home.If you're looking for a gift I highly recommend one of their 10 ounce soy candles from the Sunset collection paired with a pretty book of matches.”

“Came in to find one crystal because I was astonished by the reviews to this place, and walked out with 6! Considering this is one of the biggest crystal shops in the bay area, I'm really impressed. From crystals, to incense, to clothing, and more! The workers were so welcoming, and the cashier (forgot her name) threw in some freebies and a big discount for my crystals! Definitely will come back and bring my friends who share the same passion”

“This is an absolutely adorable gift store with Japanese and Korean influence. They have a great variety of items including snacks, dog toys, kids books (I've gotten a couple really cute ones about Indian and Korean food), ceramics, notepads, etc. The owner is super sweet and friendly. Check this place out if you want a unique gift for yourself or someone else!”

“ATYS we have loved for many years, since living in the city moving to the East Bay, still go back there for inspiration. Among many great stores still in existence, like Japonesque in Jackson Square, Sanko Kitchen Essentials or Flora Grubb for plants, San Francisco still has it!”

“Another must-visit spot when you're in SF Japantown. Since my first visit, it's become a regular stop, and I consistently end up making a purchase. Even as someone who typically only enjoys mochi ice cream and isn't a fan of regular mochi, the offerings here are too tempting to resist. We sampled the chocolate mochi in-store, and after they generously allowed us to try a whole piece, we were impressed. Although we enjoyed that flavor, we ultimately chose the strawberry mochi, which turned out to be exceptional. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, neither overwhelming nor bland. It's an ideal place to pick up gifts for your travels or simply treat yourself. The selection includes candies, savory senbei/rice cracker snacks, mochi, teas, cookies, and more. Personally, my favorites to indulge in are the Harajuku Mochi Chocolates in matcha and strawberry flavors! Moreover, they offer intriguing collaboration items featuring series like Demon Slayer and characters like Hello Kitty and Kumamon. Each item is elegantly packaged and ready to be presented straight from the shop. It's worth noting that many items here are directly imported from Japan, offering a unique selection beyond what you'd find in the snacks/gift section at places like Tokyo Central, Nijiya, Mitsuwa, etc. Whether you're a fan of Japanese sweets and snacks or someone who enjoys trying new and different things, a visit here is highly recommended! I'll definitely be returning for their mochi.Their store is located within Japan Center West Mall. If you spot the prominent signage outside, simply proceed straight in, and you'll quickly find their store.”

“This place has been so many things throughout time. In the 70's it was an apartment/art gallery, the 80's thru to 2000 it was various kinds of shops from the arcane to jewelry to herbs to magic to comics but it has always been the spot in my old neighborhood that has always been the go-to place to scope out some of the most interesting things that the Haight Ashbury has to offer. It was a complete blessing to pass by here and also go inside the last time I was in San Francisco.”

“Fell in love with Land of the Sun when we visited in 2017. Bought a long-sleeved, original designed tee that I've worn so much it was time for a new one...so I got TWO! One gray and one maroon. Absolutely love them. Good, quality, heavy cotton that's durable and SO comfy. I ordered them over the phone from Alicia who made the process fast and seamless not to mention what a wonderful conversation we had. It was like talking to family. 5++++++ stars to this really cool store! Great customer service, great quality items, quick delivery. ❤?✌”

“Botanicalife is located a few steps from the Lark Theatre in downtown Larkspur. The store is filled with interesting books, beautiful housewares, handmade soups, crystals, art, locally crafted jewelry, assortment of bulk teas, unique houseplants and many handcrafted items created by local artist. Visiting the store is a delightful way to spend time and shop for gifts or something special for yourself while spending an afternoon in Larkspur. An added bonus is delightful, complimentary gift wrap.”

“An eclectic mix of old and new toys chosen with the utmost care, this store is unique. And it has unique finds, vintage and other pieces you won't find elsewhere. The thing is that the store isn't necessarily for kids, and I didn't feel comfortable having my kid within arm's reach of expensive and breakable things. So it's a great place for adults who love toys or who want to choose a great find for a kid.”

“what an absolutely AMAZING store! i could have spent hours looking through all of the baskets, shelves and walls full of the most unique, coolest and cutest trinkets. i intially only went in to look, i wasn't planning on buying anything, but when i laid eyes on the pufferfish with GOOGLY EYES i couldn't pass it up. unfortunately, my husband and i are traveling from boston so it would have been extremely difficult to bring it home without breaking its spines. fortunately, the shop offers shipping! laila was able to help us fill out the form and within a couple days let me know the cost of shipping and had it sent out. sthe shell cellar was truly one of my most favorite shops i've visited my entire trip thus far!”

“The California Academy of Science is a must go for everybody. I grew up going to field trips here, then chaperoned field trips here when my kids were in school. First time taking my granddaughter! So fun!The rainforest is always a treat. I love the clear examples of how we are all connected. Every living thing. So much to learn and wonder. And then, butterflies flying all around you? Who isn't mesmerized by that?Quick note about the rainforest, it gets hot! Wear layers so you can continue learning without sweating your butt off. All of these visits and this is first time I noticed the 4 eyed fish! I always gotta say hello to my old friend the white gator. The planetarium is reservation only so we skipped it this time. They have a cafe, but we brought lunch from home and ate outside where there is a nice area for the littles to run around and play and to build a nest like a squirrel and other activities. We also indulged in expresso from the coffee booth out front. And hung out by the fountains listening to some great live music. Last tip, tickets are cheaper online and early than at the door.”

“Please can I give a 10 to the staff for friendliness? It is so refreshing to be greeted by someone that enjoys their job and really wants to be at work, The person that greeted me was so genuine that it was refreshing, while there are other hot sauce stores that have a larger selection, this location has more than enough to satisfy most people. Prices were very reasonable. Would shop here again.”

“The fam has been wanting to learn mahjong for the longest time, but we really didn't know what to look for in terms of the kind of set to get, the look and feel of the tiles, etc. So we checked this place out on one of our Chinatown errands. For a souveniry gift shop in a very touristy area, the lady who helped us was surprisingly very helpful, explained the style and price differences among all the different sets, and made a few recommendations. We were so happy with our purchase and had so much fun with it that my folks wanted us to buy them a set of their own. So of course we came back here and bought a set for my parents, and they were happy with it too.”

“I spent so long in this store that I wanted to buy everything. It's like a toy store for adults with books, stationeries, souvenirs, and everything in between. They are colourful and quirky (some). They remind us there are beautiful things called art out there that are worth our longing.”
