We come up every year to go camping in Big Sur.
Supporting local businesses was a priority on our trip this year.
This station is great, and Roberto, the gas station attendant is friendly and helpful.
For three years Highway One from Los Angeles to Big Sur has been closed due to the slide and continued earth movement. Local businesses are suffering.
Yes, the price is higher than Monterey or Carmel, so do not forget to gas-up there if you do not want to help support Big Sur.

They charged my credit card an extra $50 (full tank of gas) after I filled up only $13 after seeing how expensive the gas is here

This place thought a article would bring them bring in more business at $8 a gallon. Claiming that the price is justified because of "the work we do for the peeps" whatever that means. Do yourself a favor a carry a extra gas can and skip this station for the next 40 miles. I know we did.

Very cool spot to stop. Just don't come for gas unless you want to pay more than anywhere else in the entire US. Aside from that, has very clean and cool spot for food and restrooms.

I needed to run into the bakery to grab my wife's purse that she left. The attendant was rude and made me re-park while being sarcastic and chatting up his buddy that he let park close. I ran in and out, mentioned how fast I did so and he said 'don't come back.' He might be slow, but that's no excuse to be a jackass when I did exactly what said I would.
