They only listen and care about you if you’re a man. Very sexist environment.
My wife (a materials engineer that works with many types of metals and loves well-made knives - she’s also made a few of her own) went it first and asked some simple questions about build and carbon content. The man running the store told her incorrect info and acted like she was an idiot for asking some pretty basic questions.
When I walk in, he completely ignores her, and only focuses on me and selling me something. I’m a man but know zero things about knives. To the people who run this store, 99% percent of the time women wear the pants. Learn to respect them.

Their hours are crap (hardly ever open) and they don't answer their phone. I try to give actual stores my business in person if I can, but it seems these guys aren't really into that. I imagine they deal in online sales primarily. Happy to take my business elsewhere and give it to people who value customer service. Big5 down the road carries Morakniv Companions in case any of you are just looking to pickup a solid fixed blade on your way through town and don't want to deal with the weird hours and lack of customer service from this joker shop.

I stop here EVERY time I am in Bishop. As a knife enthusiast I always find a new piece here from an owner that knows what they're talking about. This is the white glove treatment for knife lovers.

Passing through Bishop, we stopped here. My husband bought me this really cool Spyderco knife. It has a smooth opening and is easy to close. I will definitely feel safer out and about with this on me. It's a really cool place with a large knife selection!

Traveled all the way from Pennsylvania only to find the store was closed during regular business hours (with the open sign still lit up). Called & the owner apologized saying they “close early pretty often”. If that’s the case, maybe think about changing your store hours & remembering to turn the open sign off before passing out in your upstairs apartment? Owner doesn’t seem super dependable… if you plan on stopping by, call ahead & make sure they’re actually open.

Flew in from PA and drove up from LA to check this place out. Was super excited given it's big online reputation. Very disappointed to find the store closed early. Called the owner, sounded like he just woke up, said he was too busy to come by. Pretty sure he just lives above the shop because 10 mins later somebody came down and shut off the open sign.

I was driving to Reno from Los Angeles and I passed by this spot. The sign jumped out and grabbed my attention right off the bat. I made a point to stop by on my way back home a week later and was met by great customer service. I can’t wait for my next visit. Love my first spyderco!

I had mailed in a knife to be sharpened. I requested for the full polish mirror edge sharpening service which cost 21 dollars. After receiving back the knife and upon looking at it, it did not have the mirror edge as I was expecting. If your going to put “mirror” edge in the description of the service then it should be a mirrored edge.

Incredible knife shop!We finally went into this knife shop and very glad we did. The owner is very kind and enthusiastic about knives. For my wife and I as well as our kids, knives are very useful and valuable, everyday tools. We don’t leave home without them and especially when we backpack and climb. A fixed blade is a must for those trips. This shop has a great selection at reasonable prices. Spyderco Knives are incredibly durable and they have a vast array of designs and sizes. Gift someone a knife or treat yourself to a great survival tool.
