Not only is the gas price a gouge, they hit you again with 3.5% credit card fees.
The problem I have - underscored by the response of the owners - is the dishonesty. It is NOT 36 miles to the next gas station. The Shell in north Mojave is 14 miles away. So is the Fastrip in California City. Considering they are currently almost $3 PER GALLON cheaper, that is exactly where I will go to save a bit more than a "few bucks." (And of course, they update their response with the truth after being called out - check the screenshot for the original).
I did the math. I knew I was going to pay more for some convenience. I did not expect to pay an additional 25 cents more per gallon for the "convenience" of using a credit card. Maybe at some point, the owners will realize that being deceptive isn't worth them making a few extra bucks and pissing people off in the long run. It's not the prices - it's the principle. Considering it is a pump first, then pay model, perhaps they should clearly advertise two prices if that's how they want to do it. Doesn't matter to me, I will never be back and advise everyone else the same.
I am not sorry for the bad review and work too hard for my money to be scammed out of it by greed and deception. They are not the only "family business doing the best they can" and they have a self-righteous, bad attitude as evidenced by all of their responses to the many bad reviews.
Owners: Don’t worry! I’ll never come back. I thought I made that clear. And I never asked for an apology. All I did is warn others of your fees and suggest you start being more transparent. Instead, you’ve copped an attitude repeatedly. At this point, you owe yourself an apology - you’re doing more damage than good here.
Happy New Year.

Good place for any Off Roading desert rider to stop for Food/Fuel/Water/Shade.They do offer rentals for small OH vehicles and I believe side-by-side's but I'm sure they charge an arm and a leg but hey. You're on vacation

Store has basic essentials. Gas price was a little over $6 a gallon, only a buck more than normal gas prices. It is a roll up pay then pump system. Restrooms are only open during business hours and I was under the assumption they would have some available around the clock. I asked where they would have some and I was told there are portapotties through out the grounds however didn't find any. We even rented a couple quads. One regular size and one kids size 50. So much fun!!! Prices were to be expected, very high. And for those trying to find any info about the canyon it's self like I tried, I reccomend coming fully prepared. It was absolutely freezing and the wind was the icing on the cake. No running water or restrooms anywhere. But if you are prepared you will have quite the adventure. Lots of sand trails hard and easy. I would be back but perhaps during spring

We were about out of gas as was another car with three young gentlemen: I called as they were closed already and they not only let us get gas but purchase a few needed items from the store. I highly recommend! Great service!
