It's a small store in a small town. They certainly don't have everything. It's over-priced, which I feel is to be expected. The service isn't great. They have an ATM.They don't have a restroom.

Love this little store. Always there to take care of the neighborhood :) Saw some posts about masks... Go there almost daily, never heard a peep about owners political views regarding masks.

This guy is getting sued for forcing people to remove their masks for his own belief. When a customer didn't, he called her names, cursed at her, and kicked her out while spitting all over the place. I kept walking, avoiding this place at all costs as I also wear a mask.

BE CAREFUL SHOPPING HERE! And make sure you count your change! they just over charged me $20. Everyone in line was in a hurry to get to the train station. And once we started moving I learned from other passengers the man at this store did the same to them. Together he over charged us $85 for Candy bars and soda Haha cute little town but dirty, dirty, business practices. Tisck tisck colfax market

My sister went in to cash her rather large check (because she has worked hard and put in extra hours for the holiday season) and the person handling her check called her place of work to speak to her manager after interrogating her and then held her up for 45 minutes after he confirmed she check and place of work asking more questions and treating her brashly and suspect. I understand there being some sort of protocol for large checks but it should be done in a professional manner and if he is incapable of handling it quickly and politely he just needs to call his supervisor to oversee his incompetence.

Just wanted to cash a simple check and got held up for about an hour , while being asked invasive and odd questions about where I work. I then asked for my check back, wanted to go somewhere else, and they wouldn't return it until they talked to my manager at work. They got ahold of him and he confirmed I worked there, duh. And then still couldn't/wouldn't cash my check. Why advertise you cash checks when you just give people who try the runaround? 80%sure they just didn't feel like doing it and made stuff up. Royally miffed and huge waste of time. Won't be back. Update: cashed the check at Walmart 40 mins away. There was no issue with it.

Colfax Market (known as "The Corner Market" to locals) is one of the longest running and most trusted businesses still operating in Colfax. Paul and his employees and family have been serving this community for longer than I have lived in Colfax and I've lived here almost 20 years (on and off). This store offers pretty standard market items with a comparably better selection of local products, but what really sets this market apart from similar markets is the owner, Paul. My opinion is that he operates on a value system that has been greatly lost in this country. Hard work + excellent service = successful business. It becomes obvious when you see the store owner himself unloading huge boxes of products into the store, in the freezing cold of the early morning or when you move back to Colfax after 12 years and he STILL recognizes you and treats you as if you never left (I realize these are very specific examples, but I only have my own observations to go off of here). My conclusion: If you're in Colfax, whether you're just stopping through on your way to the slopes or trails or slots, or if you are a local, get your gas at the gas stations, but please make the two minute drive to Colfax Market to buy your market items. We need to support our local independent businesses in this community because we have lost most of them and there are plenty of vicious corporations trying to end the rest of them for good, waiting outside the towns borders like a pack of rabid dogs outside a rabbit cage. Corporations do not care about you or the locals or the community. They just look at you as a source of revenue to exploit.
