Great place to find 2nd hand paperbacks and hardcovers for a fraction of the original cost. Most books are in like new conditions. You will find bestsellers from your popular writers and recent DVD movies. Also, music cds. There are plenty of selections, and staff is helpful.

Nice but incompetent staff. I tried selling some books and dropped them off. They gave different answers over the phone vs in person, so I wasted a trip. When I returned to pick up what they wouldn't take, they first brought back the wrong books. Lastly, they left to help other customers and forgot I was still waiting for my money back until I asked. They do have a nifty selection though.

They have a good selection of books and manga (even though I don't read manga), but they took out a lot of electronic stuff. They had a whole aisle filled with electronics but now it's just books there. There's also a lot of CD's and DVD's.

I love this place. They have a great selection of movies, music, books, and paraphernalia from all your favorite shows. They also buy back anything you don't want. The staff is always friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

If you love Media books, movies, games, and collectibles, go to BOOKOFF!It's very clean and stocked well. The back wall is sale/closeout books for $1-2.My daughter took me as she goes to look at games and collectibles. The closeout books were my favorite.

A few months to a year ago this would’ve been 5 stars but I feel it’s changed too much and they’re catering to a certain group of people. Half of the aisles are just figures now, and the good ones are only $1-5 off retail and not even in good condition. The thing I bought most were manga and books in Japanese but I do understand why they got rid of that section especially since they weren’t selling much. Even without the japanese books I was usually able to find things and I would go in pretty frequently (2-3x a month). Now I don’t even feel like it’s worth going in. I still think the staff are generally great people though and most of them are extremely helpful. Still kinda sucks cause this BookOff used to be second to none. I even visited the one in New York and I still found myself missing the Costa Mesa location.

If I could give half a star I would. I went into sell my Nintendo switch, which is valued in stores for 249.99. The girl tells me the switch is being sold here with accessories for 180, and that I would receive 30% off of that. When I came in to get the value, they offered me $81, way under 30% of 180, and then she tried to show me the prices of the switches and they had one that was 239.99 being sold with no charger nor dock. And I honestly wanted 100 for mine, they refused to negotiate even after I called it out, and there is no where on their In person stores that says we can't. If you're selling your game systems, just do it on offer up or anything online, cuz these people will buy it from you for way less than its valued and sell it for $10 less and with none of the accessories!

Admittedly their selection of CDs and books is extensive, however whoever priced their inventory must have been out of their minds. Seriously? CDs for $30? Not even like a deluxe edition or anything, just a digipack CD for $29.99? That's straight up laughable. They seriously wanted $70 for the Century Media release of Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Satanas", which can be purchased on discogs for under 10 bucks. And it's not even like it's super popular bands. I'm talking about bands like Electric Wizard, Mayhem, and EHG. Sure, these bands are super popular in their respective scenes but to the general public? Your average person on the street has probably not heard of them. Not to mention you can get all of these CDs off discogs or even the band's website for half of what Book-off sells them for. The same can be said for the video games (seriously, PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 games for close to original retail price) DVDs, (again close to retail price for a format that most people give away or sell at garage sales for a dollar a pop. I have purchased many a DVD and Blu-ray at Goodwill and other thrift stores for a few bucks, when book-off tries to sell the same thing for north of $20) comic books, and action figures. Naturally there will be some comics and figures that are deserving of a higher price, but not most of their inventory. It's a shame, because the store has a great selection of everything from comics and cards to action figures and video games to CDs and DVDs. I just wish the vast majority of it wasn't priced so astronomically high. Also, and this might be the worst thing about this place, is if you take them CDs to sell they'll offer you 10 cents for a CD. And then Mark it up to $25, $35, sometimes even higher. THAT IS UPWARDS OF A 3000% INCREASE.This place is an absolute joke. Take your money to Independent retailers who actually charge fair prices..

My new favorite bookstore! I've always wanted to go by here after shopping at Tokyo Centeal nearby and today I finally did. The store is extremely clean, well-lit, and all of the books are in great condition. Aside from the plethora of books (including a back wall full of books that are only $2) they have a bunch of video games, Pokémon cards, board games, nendroids, funko pops, and movies/tv shows/music CDs. The staff members were very friendly and assisted customers in finding books. The store looks little on the outside but is massive, and each shelf is stocked to the ceiling with books/games/toys. Definitely a perfect place for book lovers, anime lovers, and collectors!

Definitely a good spot to find some rare stuff and good deals. Nice selection of action figures, game systems and games, books, a variety of CDS and DVDS and many more to buy.Sell your belongings to this institution at your own risk. Be advised, I brought in over 100 DVD Movies, 3 complete TV Series, a few books, some CDS and was only offered $30. A disappointment. Hence the low rating.

Was a visitor from az for the weekend. This shop is great to spend hours just to look at everything they have. Will definitely be back soon!

This place used to be great but I've noticed when you try to sell stuff they value everything less than places like GAMESTOP is offering ( and if you know how GameStop majorly rips people off during trades) I'm sure some stuff they'll pay more for but good luck figuring it out. All that aside I do love their wide selection it's fun to just peruse through it all

This place is awesome. Good used book selection. And was very impressed with used collectible action figures and Funko pop figurines.

I wish I could rate the level of service at more than five stars because the people that helped me out during my visit definitely deserve 10 stars at the very least. Zach, Hector, and Thalia are literally the nicest most helpful people I have come across in a very long time at a store. They are super knowledgeable about the products that they have, and even educated me on so much stuff that I didn’t know about before that I was very interested in now. I also want to add that this store has an amazing collection of all sorts of books at a very reasonable price. Being an interior designer, I’m constantly looking for a coffee table books and specifically art ones. These books can go up to hundreds of dollars and at bookoff, I was able to find brand new ones that were still in the wrapping for about 10 to 20$. They also buy books that are in good condition as well as an assortment of action figures and comic books and all sorts of really awesome things. The pricing they will offer you for your items is very fair and ultimately I think that what this store is trying to do is make things that may not be affordable to most people affordable and they are doing an amazing job at it. Nothing in the store was lacking quality and most importantly looked pretty much new. I really love thisStore and the people whoWork here are so amazing I really recommend this place to not only collectors, but also to designers, artists, or anybody creative.
