09/10/2023. Today I visited the south coast store, and once again, I was utterly disappointed with their customer service--or rather, the complete lack thereof. It seems like this establishment has a consistent issue with acknowledging the presence of its customers. Today's visit was just another reminder of how unwelcome they make their patrons feel.Sadly, this isn't the first time I've experienced such neglect at this store. It's become a recurring theme, and it's clear that they have no intention of improving their customer service. As a loyal customer, it's disheartening to see this indifference. From now on, I've decided that if I ever choose to purchase anything from this retailer, I will either explore other stores in the area or opt for online shopping. I've given them enough chances to provide decent customer service, and it's time to take my business elsewhere. It's a shame that they're squandering opportunities to build customer loyalty and satisfaction.

I have been a regular J Jill shopper. I rarely visit this store because of the staff being unfriendly. Walked through the entire store today, no customers, and not one of the them said welcome or even acknowledged my presence. Oh well, it's a good thing that the Del Amo Mall and Manhattan Beach have better customer service.

I saw some items online that I wanted to try on so I was excited to shop for the first time there. I walked into the South Coast Plaza store on 4/3/23 around noon and to my disappointment was blatantly ignored. There were store associates talking amongst themselves. They took a moment to look up at me but with no acknowledgement. Another customer walked in and she was greeted. I walked around the entire store being completely ignored. Unfortunately, I felt unwelcome and decided to leave.

i have been going to J.Jill's to shop in Costa Mesa for years. The quality of clothing is excellent, maybe a little pricey for me, but worth it. I have always found the customer service to be excellent, friendly and so helpful.

I love J Jill clothing! I've been wearing J Jill for years and love the styles, quality, customer service, and have enjoyed the sales. I've noticed there are many exclusions to their sales now. I wanted to shop the sale for the Fit line and the Robes/Pajamas line and both were excluded? So disappointing.

I live in Tucson Arizona and called this store on a Saturday afternoon to do a Send Sale. It was a wonderful experience. I spoke with Tracy, she was pleasant, and very helpful. Thank-you for hiring this lovely associate; it was a pleasure to speak with her.

I have shopped at JJill for many many years and have always been impressed with the style and quality of their clothing. I have shopped in store and online. I'm very sad that the JJill on Birch Street is closing, but I understand how it is during these difficult times.

I would like to start off off by saying my returned purchase was handled nicely and effortlessly by the staff that I dealt with on Monday morning. I had went to this store on Sunday 12/6/2020, this was literally my last stop after walking the whole south coast plaza mall doing my Christmas shopping for family and secret Santa for school. I found a lot of items I didn't end up buying since I walked to the mall and didn't want to walk back home with bags so I figured I'd come back Monday morning to pick everything up. As I'm leaving the mall I walk into this store around 4pm -ish since I noticed the sale they had and some clothes were something my secret Santa and mom would like. As I'm browsing the store (mind you I had my earphones listening to music 90% of the time unless I noticed someone trying to talk to me) I went to a corner that had sweaters by the front window entrance and I pulled out a paper that had a list of things my secret Santa liked/wanted so I can remember while I look around and I noticed a female employee come towards me so I removed my earphones and she asked me the typical "do you need help with anything" I said "no I'm just browsing right now" and I put my earphones back on. That same employee constantly eyed me and followed me throughout the whole store while I was browsing the store which I instantly felt disrespected. I still browsed probably for another 10 mins looking for something for my mom and the employee that was following me around in the beginning had switched with some older white lady when I had walked over to the other half of the store where you wouldn't be able to see me unless you literally walked over since it's setup like a circle on the other half. So as I browse the circle of clothes I saw some red tops by the exit I walked over took a look and wasn't interested in getting for my mom, as I'm about to leave I see a beautiful red scarf and at that point I debated on whether I should just walk out since these two employees literally followed me around the whole store assuming whatever they were assuming about me or buy this for my mom and I ended up buying it. The older white lady had rang me up small chatting while doing so and a customer had complimented me about the scarf which yes was thoughtful but the whole time I bought it and walked out I felt awkward. The guy standing guard by the door the whole time I didn't really acknowledge but I can assume he's there for people that actually steal stuff which is understandable but me as a 5'7 dark skinned Costa Mesa resident walking into this store wearing black sweats, white nikes, a black formula D sweater, carrying a film camera around yes I can understand I may give off a slight feeling of "is he really buying something?" But at that point if I explain I'm a browsing customer and you stalk me around the whole store I ponder at the fact if they did the same actions to fellow customers or the lady that bought some items before me. With that being said I walked home literally debating if I should return this scarf and not give it to my mom so I decided to sleep on it because yes Nike on the 3rd floor same building (I believe) did the same thing while I had purchased some shoes and I returned them since as a customer I should be able to walk in an out a store freely without having the feeling of being watched or assumed I'm there to do something other than buy. Monday morning I walked right back and returned the scarf and like I said in the beginning whoever was staffed Monday morning opening was nice and respectful and made the process simple and quick which I appreciated a lot (hence the 2 stars). Unfortunately I don't plan on coming back here but the clothes are nice and stylish

I called this J Jill today to place an order. The manager, Toni, was OUTSTANDING!!! She was so pleasant, asked me for the information and even looked through her computer to search for stores that had my preferred size as she didn't have a petite size in her store (did have a regular size). She held the top for me while I called the other stores to locate my petite size. She provided excellent customer service! I was especially elated because the manager at my closest store in Broadway Plaza Walnut Creek is a nightmare. She is unpleasant when you walk in to shop and worse on the phone when you ask her to find an item! To be honest, I hate going into this store because she is unfriendly and ruins my shopping experience. All employees should be like Toni! Kudos to you Toni!

I've been shopping J Jill for many years now. I like the majority of their clothes and shoes and always do well during the sales. My go-to weekend clothes are usually leggings and some form of a tunic top. I am a woman "of a certain age," but I also see styles that would look great on younger generations of women. I have noticed a big change in the sales associates. I don't see the same friendly associates from a few years ago that were closer to my age and could help me with "age appropriate" choices that were flattering on me. Maybe they were transferred to another store location? I prefer to purchase my tops and dresses in size Tall, which is only available on-line, which means an added shipping fee. I do wish J Jill would waive the shipping fee on Tall sizing or carry Tall sizes in the stores.
