Worst Uhaul location ever. Seriously never rent from here. Very unhelpful and unethical business practices they do. Plus they take forever to print you a receipt when checking out. I reserved a moving van and when I came in they wanted me to provide the first and last name and personal phone number of a friend or family member. Totally inappropriate especially in this day and age of identity theft and fraud. The owner told me it's Uhaul policy but I can UPGRADE for a larger fee to a bigger truck and they won't have to call a friend or family! So if I spend more money, THEN there's no need for a phone call. So it really is all about the money. He was trying to tell me the vans are more stolen. Like how ignorant and moronic is that. If ANYONE was planning to steal one of these vehicles wouldn't they just have a buddy say "hey I'm gong to steal a Uhaul van I'm gonna give them your number and fake name. When they call you verify me and say I'm a standup guy!" Lol. Like wtf. Seriously. That's your security theft prevention! ROFL. You don't have to be an electrical engineer to figure that one out. I had this big truck for one small sofa I had to move lol. I had no problems with the truck. It ran nice and smooth. The gas was off when I got in. The contract said it was half a tank when it was only 3/8. Make sure to check your gauges and mileage as it seems they be pulling fast ones at this Uhaul location. I know inflation is real and things are more expensive but come on let's be honest in our dealings and start exercising more honest business practices and stop asking your customers to provide the personal information of their friends and family.

I have rented vans from the location down the street for 25+ years and the staff were always a problem. Years ago they had good people working but now few and far between. I rented a storage unit that is a bock away but manager works at this location. This is THE WORST EXPERIENCE ALL THE WAY AROUND!! Andrew was good when he rented it too me but when I went to move my things in I was given one of the least desirable units. At the end of the location where renters regularly would block you unit while they go to the inside units, so I always had to go look for someone.

Friendly guys. Small operation so they are very flexible and helpful. They have small trucks and vans for moving stuff that wont fit in your sports car.

U-Haul has let us down for the last time. We are moving from Costa Mesa to Ojai and booked our 26ft truck a week ago to pick up from this location tomorrow. They called us today to let us know that our truck would need to be picked up in Lake Elsinore. When we explained how far away it was, the cs person said “you’re already driving 2 hours anyway” which is completely illogical, since Lake Elsinore is in the opposite direction of Ojai. We will not use UHaul again, as this is our second move in a row where they did not deliver on their promise.

U-Haul employees called my phone multiple times at 6:30am trying to locate a key to a truck I returned the night before to their actual employees. Then then begin to blame me for not putting the key in the lock box when I followed the agents instructions when I dropped it off. Now they are trying to charge me for a key that was stolen by homeless people after hours cause their employee didn’t properly check in the vehicle I dropped off. The overall tone and attitude towards me was disrespectful and I will never rent from this location again.

Excellent service and customer support at this location.Had drop off at a different location for my Uhaul truck (Rent One at 125 Commercial Way - AVOID AT ALL COSTS).That location LIED TO MY FACE and refused to accept the assigned drop off, saying they didn't have space and that the contract allowed me to take it to the 2680 Newport Blvd location instead.Upon arriving the owner and team informed me that I'd been lied to, helped me get a copy of the contract showing that Rent One MUST accept the truck, and helped me get the truck out of the lot safely. This team is competent and friendly, and if I ever rent a Uhaul again in the future I will ABSOLUTELY 100% be sure to get it here.

Unfortunately, I had my tow hitch installed at this location. Check out the shoddy work on my land rover these guys did in the attached pictures! This is a very expensive vehicle, but even if it wasn't, work (Or should I say damage) like this is substandard. Very unprofessional and uneven cut into the removable silver panel. Scratched the panel during installation as well. You get what you pay for. Land Rover wanted $1800, but I guarantee you it wouldn't look like this. I'll probably have to buy a new panel from Land Rover now and have a "professional" cut it with something other than a jigsaw or grinder like these guys did. Beware folks if you have a specialty situation hitch installation on your vehicle. Once they do it, there is no going back. Also, they put my electrical for a trailer in the rear wheel well inside the car. I've never seen this done before. Normally they put it on a bracket on the outside. I think it just comes down to laziness. I wouldn't go back again because now it will cost me a few hundred for the new panel, then a few hundred to have it done right. It will end up costing the same as Land Rover. Lesson learned.

The check in was easy. Gave me all the info I needed and didn't try to update me. My return was fast, honest and easy. The staff I felt with was outstanding.

Employees are friendly but the company overall is not what you hope for. They initially told me a price of $85 and then they go ahead and charge me an amount of $216. They tell you a price and then they run your card with multiple charges or “fees” Please be transparent to keep a good reputation. This is not the first time that’s happened to me.

Ok... So this is the BEST UHAUL EVER!!! Went today and witnessed: "How to deal with an irate client" 101. Dude was impatient, rude, aggressive and borderline scary and the manager was stellar. Andy I think was his name. Anything the angry client barked at him was handled in the most professional manner ever! Far more courteous than I would have been. These guys deserve raises!! And to the guy in the black truck triple parked the wrong way... You're a grown man, treat people better.

Came here looking for a hitch installation. Manager ordered the wrong one, and wasn't willing to work with me by finding a resolution. I own a newer car that's recently been redesigned. Finding a compatible hitch was as easy as 1 google search. Instead he made sure I was aware he paid for priority shipping for the hitch, and that $50ish was lost. He then advised me to be responsible to order the correct hitch, and they would be willing to install for a hefty fee of course. Mistakes can happen, but the manager never took ownership for HIS mistake. For hitch installations I'd recommend you go to Taylor's in Costa Mesa!

Ineptitude and unmaintained equipment. I rent trailers from Uhauls all over so cal for work. This store is hands down the worst of all.
