I can’t say enough good things about West Val Care Pharmacy! The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and always goes the extra mile to ensure every customer is taken care of. They take the time to answer all my questions, explain medications thoroughly, and make sure I understand everything before I leave.
I never feel rushed, and prescriptions are filled quickly and accurately. It’s clear they truly care about their patients and prioritize personalized service over just getting people in and out the door. I’m so grateful to have found this gem of a pharmacy.

Anyone who doesn't give this pharmacy a 5 is delusional. They are exceptionally caring, thorough, and have always been there for me and my kid's prescription needs.

Seems like all the negative reviews are from 5 years ago or more. The current management/staff that I've used for the last 2 years is absolutely incredible. Warm, personable, and caring. They are eager to help and everything is always ready quickly. Can't recommend enough!

I have been using West Val for years. Irena goes that extra mile every time!
I find the entire staff to be caring and kind. Go wait in line for a half hour at CVS for your meds! Not me, West Val is tops!!!

I can see I'm not alone, a lot of poor reviews! When you see this their is usually a very good reason, Can everybody be wrong?? So lets get after it, I called this afternoon to ask a question. from the Pharmacist. I was met with anger, rudeness, and hostility! It was more than just being unprofessional. I told her she needs to go to Business School and get a degree, or a finishing school for polite, telephone manners!! We all have so many choices of pharmacies to include CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aide just to mention a few! Now having said this I can understand her demeanor, if you had to stand behind a counter and count pills all day long, and place a label on a plastic bottle, well, can you possibly imagine anything in this world more boring, and uninteresting?? I cant! I to would have an attitude! It is a career for people that have no personalities, who don't have to be a people person!! I guess if I had to do that all day long I would be angry and hostile as well!! This mom and pop pharmacy, could meet the same fate of a lot of other different types of business here in California, closure!! Remember what happened to the Titantic?? Try CVS in Encino shopping center with Amazon fresh, it's a large, beautiful store, and compare the treatment you receive!!

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! I cannot say enough great things about this pharmacy and the staff especially the pharmacist Irina. Such an amazing person. West Val is not our home pharmacy seeing that we do not live in the area. Our babies GI dr is in the building next door and recommended going to them because they could compound our daughters meds. Best decision ever. Not only did they take the time to explain to me what compound medicine actually is in the beginning, they went out of their way each time to get the meds authorized by our insurance ahead of time to save us money. Irina is always very welcoming to both myself and my husband each time we had to get new meds. She takes the time to welcome us by name, discuss the health issue our baby is going through and really is just warm and helpful each time we go in. During this time with our baby being sick, it is very nice to have someone really there listening and concerned and willing to help.Just this week we unfortunately had to get another new med for our baby with hopes it's the last one Not only was this medicine $6,000 but there wasn't a pharmacy in town that had the liquid version. The manufacturer of the medicine was no help and every pharmacy we called their wholesalers couldn't get it either. We were stuck. UNTIL Irina went out of her way and spent the day calling around and found a local specialty pharmacy that could order it for us. Not only that but she sent over all of our information including a coupon for the medicine which made it only $50. HUGE!!!!I'm sorry, but there isn't a pharmacy in town that would go over and beyond like this one did. If you want great customer service, knowledgeable advice and personal care this is the place to go. Thank you soooooo much IRINA and your team. So grateful for you.

This place used to be great. My mother came here when it first opened in 1959 or 60- And I have been using W. Val since 1975. The former pharmacist Sue and the rest of the staff really treated me (And everyone) well My little chihuahua dog had had hydrocephalus and they mixed a special complex compound every month for 10 years for him. When I ruptured my back and needed to be on a very controlled substance patch- which had to be removed and replaced every 3 days. In I went twice a week- and someone always promptly took care of me. (For almost a year) I was so grateful for their kindness that when I moved to the desert about 7 years ago- I continued to have my meds filled at West Val and sent to me. I spend about $200 per month out of pocket and figured- (Given our long association)I would rather pay it to W. Val- if I had to pay some place. I would call my doctor or W. Val would call him and once authorized my prescriptions were sent down here.I have been on Disability since 2001- And since then have taken the same 3 medications at the same dosage. Now granted- These are controlled substances. But my records will show that after 21 years-not once have I ever misused them. So imagine my shock when about 3 or 4 years ago- I called in my prescriptions and the lady who answered the phone read me the riot act. I think it was a holiday weekend and my 30 day prescription would run out on a Sunday. (They are closed on Sunday and a holiday weekend leaves me 3 days without my medications) One of these meds is the kind you can't just stop. Your body will go into seizures.She screamed at me that if I couldn't wait an extra day or two. I must be a drug addict. and needed to go to Rehab. I had no clue who this person was ranting and raving at me.And then I found out that West Val had been sold and this lovely woman on the other end of the phone was Irina- The new owner and pharacist. Somehow- Some way- This was straightened out- And although many people told me to never use them again. I continued. Irina and I for the most part had an amicable relationship. (Despite the not so subtle remarks she would make to me on occasion.) And then- suddenly out of the blue- She announced to me that she would no longer fill my prescriptions. Something about my age (65) and the meds and how my prescription dosages never changed. (Her implication was that I had not ever cut down from the prescribed dosage. The dosage prescribed by my doctor of over 30 years!)This woman has the balls of a brass monkey and the same sort of compassion as well.I DO NOT RECOMMEND WEST VAL PHARMACY TO ANYONE ANYWHERE FOR ANY REASON!!!

I have been going to this local pharmacy for over a decade and my experience has always been extremely good up until the last year. The older gentleman who used to run the place was kind and always super friendly, as was his staff. They have had a change in ownership and I'm sad to say that the new owner, Irina, and the new employees are the complete opposite of kind. After viewing MULTIPLE BAD REVIEWS, it's very apparent that my experience isn't unique and there is definite problem with this establishment and the person running it. I called to speak to the owner about a distasteful interaction I had with an employee and she implied that I was upset because "I couldn't get my medication." Obviously this pissed me off and I dropped an F bomb and this was apparently incredibly offensive. To be crystal clear, I didn't not F bomb at her, but this was her cross to die on. Implying that my meds are the issue for my call is rude and dismissive and if you don't want to be offended, perhaps you shouldn't offend. We live in LA, there's a pharmacy on every corner, getting my medication wasn't the issue, her rude employee was. Irina's response only added insult to injury. I was essentially told I could take my business elsewhere and perhaps they aren't a good fit. You're right Irina, your business isn't a good fit. It's clearly not a good fit for many people in the community that continue to have a bad experience with you and your staff. I'm disappointed cause I use to love coming here and supporting a small business in Encino but I will not be returning. How you treat people in your community has consequences. You're in the business of helping people when they feel sick, have had surgery, and probably at their most vulnerable. You've missed the mark and come across as rude, impatient and cold. I will gladly take my business elsewhere....to the million other pharmacy's in LA! I do not want a response from you because I can see based on historical reviews, that YOU TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY for your behavior. But one day, when you go out of business, perhaps you will reflect on the reasons why.

I normally do not take time to leave reviews but I wanted to because West Val Pharmacy is fantastic. Their customer service is superb. As soon as you enter the pharmacy you're greeted immediately. They take such care and pride in their work and it shows. With all of these big chain pharmacies, I'm so happy West Val pharmacy still provides such a small town neighborly feel.Keep up the good work West Val!
