I live in another state. I was trying to track down a board game for my daughter, and The Game Getaway had one copy in stock. I gave them a call and they went out of their way to help a dad get his daughter's birthday present in time! Thank you!!!

Went on a Monday with my family so they could buy me a game for my birthday. I was looking forward to getting to spend time looking at games and picking one out. I looked up the hours online to make sure we had plenty of time. Unfortunatly the hours online are wrong. We came just before 5pm looked around for about 5 minutes before we were told we had to leave because they close early on Monday.So FYI, they close at 5 on Monday.

Not ADA compliant. Could not get in door, safely maneuver aisles. Struggled at door for some time with bell ringing and received no assistance. Not family friendly.

This is a very nicely stocked game store. Word games like Scrabble and Quiddler. Outdoor games and toys like Frisbee, Nerf Football, Ring Toss, and Hacky Sacks. RPGs like D&D 5E, Pathfinder/Starfinder, Star Wars, and the World of Darkness games. Miniatures and pain supplies. Card and Board Games like Catan, King of Tokyo, Exploding Kittens, and Talisman. Very well stocked indeed. They even have a large library of open games that you can play on their game tables for a small fee.

If I see a game store, it's a must go! This one was cute and nestled into the heart of downtown Folsom. Upon walking in you can see all the games are organized in terms of kind of game, ranging from two-player to multiplayer to kids to Brazil n busters. Went to the back of the shop and realized there were hundreds of games upon other games that you are able to sit and try out at some tables. Noticed an ad for a Dungeon Master for a DnD kids campaign over the summer.. wish I lived in town so I could apply! Best I could do was buy a few games, some brain teasers, and they have a nice collection of playing cards to choose from. I chose high quality Mandalorian ones....can't go wrong there! If you're a table top mater, a novice or just curious about the wonderful world of gaming...check this place out, there is something for everyone :) Not sure about the Beagle or Bagel game...but definitely warranted a photo!

This place is packed to the rafters with games to buy and to play. And the gentleman at the register was both knowledgeable and helpful. It's fun to shop at a game store where the people love it games.

If you are in Folsum, it's worth a stop. If you are on I80, it's not worth going out of your way. The service was apathetic bordering on rude. They do have a wide array of modern board games to buy, and they have a giant selection of games to rent.

On Friday my boyfriend and I stopped in and purchased the classic portable Battleship for ourselves, stress balls, kid's birthday presents and early Christmas/stocking presents for my daughter and cards. I love to shop year-round to find fun unique things for her and this is the place to do it, they have everything a child could possibly want! We also really enjoyed re-living memories together of the games and toys we played growing up when we were children ourselves! Support this small local business that's been in business since 2014! We found everything we needed and for the quality and well stocked store, it's definitely worth a re-visit! Good luck leaving empty handed!
