We have been members of AC4 for a year and a half and are so happy we joined. We appreciate Tony, the owner, and the friendly staff. It’s open 24x7 with access via key fob, which makes it very easy to make use of your membership. If you want to support a local business that provides a great service and is environmentally conscious please join AC4.

It's good for the price but it's always packed and it's hard to get a machine when people are just sitting on them. And they don't have that many machines to choose from to begin with.

AC4 is a great place to get a workout in! It's very clean, never crowded, and, between the free weights and machines, there are plenty of options. The cost is very fair and they're always having promotions. Friendly staff too!

i give this place one star because they made me feel uncomfortable about exposing maybe 3 inches of midriff which is acceptable at other gyms but here it’s not. everything else on my body had been fully covered. i dont know why im paying for a gym that are men telling me about my outfit choices to workout in. i understand the rule about not wearing an outfit with too much exposed skin but this was not the case here. im honestly disappointed.

My New Year's resolution for 2022 was to join a gym, not an easy task with the many choices in SB and Goleta, and this thing called COVID, but after a in-depth search both on-line and in person, I found AC4 Fitness. I read through their website and connected with Their Story, Their Mission and Their Solution. They made the joining process on-line very easy, and was excited to finally plan on entering the gym and start planning for my much needed fitness program. After calling from the parking lot I got the okay to enter and met the friendly and knowledgeable Manager Lalo. He gave me the grand tour and explained the many fitness and membership options. And of course the highlight of that first visit was to get my very first Key Fob (KF), which gives me 24 hour access to their gym facilities. I had scheduled my first "intro" to the weight machines with Personal Trainer T.J. Fortuna. He asked all the important questions about my goals and workout routine, and he could tell right away that I was going through some joint injury issues. He didn't skip a beat and took me to the upstairs stretching area where he was spot-on with knowing exactly what I needed to do to regain the flexibility in my knees and hips. T.J. went above and beyond the call of duty in giving me the confidence that I need to get in shape and get my mobility back. Their Goleta location, on the corner of Fairview and Calle Real, is ideal for me and my busy schedule. And I really appreciate the cleanliness of their gym, and the use of the dressing room and private showers. AC4 has so much to offer, I am sure I will be doing an update to my review as I explore the many other features.

I’ve been a member of several gyms in SB area in the last decade and I wish I visited AC4 Fitness sooner. The place has everything you needed, is spotless, and has the nicest staff. And don’t forget it’s open 24/7. Wait, what?! Yes, you read it right: it’s open 24/7. Best gym ever!

I'm pretty minimalist when it comes to gyms; so long as it has basic weights, weight-lifting machines, and aerobic equipment (in my case, elliptical), I don't need much else. I go in, do my thing and get out. In this regard, AC4 didn't disappoint. The work area was nice and roomy, giving you many options on what and how to work out. Barbells, dumbbells', pully systems, etc...The upstairs has aerobic equipment (treadmills, bicycles and of course, my personal favorite, the ellipticals!). There's even a multipurpose room upstairs next to the treadmills, which I'm still not not sure what they do in there, but looks rad! The staff is usually pretty courteous, no real complaints there. The "orientation" session takes maybe 5 minutes, basically showing you where everything is, what you can and can't do, where the bathrooms and showers are (the latter being a huge plus in by book), and that's about it. Place even had a water massage thing & a tanning bed, if that's your thing (it ain't mine). All in all, for $40/month, you can't beat this price!

I've been going to this gym for a while. It is top notch. First off, it is always clean. The machines are wiped down and there aren't any broken machines. Second, they are open 24 hours. I don't have to rush to the gym to make it before closing. I can come in at any hour with a key. Third, this gym is for people who like to workout. It's not a talking and hold up the machine gym (though people are friendly). But people actually train here and sweat to reach their fitness goals. I love it. I think this is an excellent place to workout at. Highly recommended.

I liked this gym- for the price, the facilities have all the equipment and space one could need, the staff is cordial and helpful if needed, and the space is always clean. However, the management has repeatedly shown that they believe the pandemic is a hoax and for that they have lost my respect.None of the staff wear masks, and while yes, they do have the guidelines posted on the door, the attendants at the desk tell everyone who enters wearing a mask that they don't need to wear it. Note how none of the responses to comments deny this fact. The blatant disregard of the law at a health establishment is shocking. Do better.

We quit the gym over their approach to COVID. It was not an easy decision because the gym is quiet, clean and has the the equipment we like. But the management is anti-mask and anti-public health protections. For example, they displayed an anti mask flyer and a "freedom" rally flyer on their front counter, sent an email to members recommending a film that suggests COVID science is covering up alternatives, and they do not enforce mask rules. Staff do not wear masks, through members are free to do so. No one criticized me when I wore a mask, but machines can be close together and the person running or biking next to you may not be masked (and may not be vaccinated) so it felt uncomfortable. The anti-science material was also troubling after losing my sister to COVID. At this point, the evidence on the effectiveness and safety of masks is far too solid to ignore. We will look for a gym that more actively protects members from COVID.

When everything re-opened during COVID, I called AC4 to see if I could check out the gym. (Unfortunately, there aren't many gyms in the SB or Goleta area) The employee told me that they aren't allowing anyone new and that was the entire conversation. There was no follow up of when it could possibly be open to new clients and no info was taken down. I can't write a full review, since I didn't get the chance to try out this gym. But I don't plan to anymore.

Thanks Tony for your response but I've gone at various hours to your gym and staff never wear masks nor suggest anyone else to wear a mask and the only posted mask sign is upside down at the bottom of the door. I was expecting a local business to follow any/all rules, especially those that impact the health of our local community. Are you saying that someone who questions the gyms mask adherence aren't welcome at AC4 fitness? FYI, your gym is really nice, clean and I love it. I just would love a safer health environment to exercise in and for AC4 to follow the county's covid guidelines so we can all get rid of this covid situation.

AC4 is absolutely the best gym in town! This privately owned club has become a second home to me. The staff are all so knowledgeable and friendly! Starting the day at AC4 ensures that it's going to be a great one!
