Maybe the move to the fancy facility has gone to their heads. This is not the compassionate animal hospital it used to be where all comers were welcome. My dog may have ingested poison, so I took her to this facility. When I went through the door, the employees were all standing around talking and scattered and pretended to look busy. I explained my situation and was told they were 'full' and was handed a list of other places. There wasn't a soul in the place. They didn't even offer to look at my dog and time was of the essence. It seems that all these vets care about is the exorbitant fees they charge. They give price gouging a whole new meaning. I found another facility some distance away that took my dog in right away for treatment. Here's yet another doggie UC I wouldn't send my worst enemy to.

Look. I understand that these people have a lot going on. We had come in with an emergency situation for my kitten and they treated it as a "tamed situation" so we had been waiting in the clinic room for over 4 hours. I'm not even joking when I say this. I understand they did have a critical condition dog show up 10 minutes after we got there but after that situation was dealt with we still weren't the ones next. My cat had a bad fall and had been having these what looked like to be seizures, and we were scared we was going to hurt himself but they had been no where to be seen. The staff was not available when I tried to go up to the front desk to try and ask them an update. I got to this clinic at 7:24pm it is currently 10pm. I am writing this review while we are still here at the hospital. I'm that upset with how this place is running. I understand that things happen I just didn't feel like me and my family were really updated or being heard. I just wanted to give an honest review. I'm not trying to cause any hate towards anybody. Just be mindful the next time you bring in your fur baby to this place. The room we were in was also very hot. No ac or anything. I wanted to add an update and say we were here for a total of 4 almost 5 hours. We were the last to leave and we finally got check out at 11:40pm. We had gotten there at 7:24pm.

My cat with Kidney Disease was in acute distress. I had had successful experiences with Grand Terrace Emergency several times before, which is why I drove some distance to go there. I arrived at the front door at 7:10AM. The website said that they were open until 8AM. A staff member came to the door and said that they were not taking any more patients because they were closing in 30 minutes, which would have been 7:40AM. I was so frustrated and distressed because of my animal's distress and being shutdown so quickly. I did not engage her further in conversation because I was so discouraged and angry. She did not ask me what was wrong with my animal or ask me if I knew of other options for treatment. I won't be back. Very poor!

Their friendliness does not make up for their lack of communication. They deserve a 0. I called ahead of time and was told it would one hour to two hours. I arrived at 7:40 checked in and was told two people were ahead of me. Then when I was called into a room at 10pm they made us wait another two hours. I ended up leaving. It is unacceptable! If you are going to triage animals and treat them first because they are critical then say that to people instead of saying BS. I don't understand how you are in business. It's too bad because my other dog came and it was great. We ended up leaving. I am furious. I am letting everyone we know not to come here. Shameful business practice. I hope you reply.

At 1 am we had to make the hardest decision, as a pet owner we ever had to make. We knew it was time to take our precious dog in, because we could not let him suffer and wait until the morning for his normal vet to open. We called around and decided to go here. Everyone at this place was great. Our dog could not walk and they brought out a stretcher to wheel him in. Everything was explained to us, step by step on what would happened and we were told we could take as much time as needed to say goodbye. We were taken a beautiful room with nice decor and dim lights. It just made it seem more like home instead of a cold examination room. When they brought out our dog he was still on the stretcher but had been placed over a nice blanket and he had a blanket on him. We took our time saying our goodbyes and no one rushed us. Even the vet talked to him and reassured us for various reasons we already knew we were making the right decision. Obviously, we left heartbroken but happy that the staff was so caring. Two weeks later we received this hand written card from the staff with his name inside. It just a small little token that made our experience here a great one.

I really would prefer to leave 0 stars, but due to yelp I have to leave at least one star. That's too much given the fact the doctor has the audacity to say I'm a crappy owner for my cat having an illness I couldn't prevent. I paid $150 to be demeaned and have her temperature taken, if nothing was going to be done for my pet or be given to her I would've kept her home instead of coming here to this crappy "compassionate animal clinic."

My dog Bailey had a swollen leg and was in a lot of pain. We took her in at 7pm on a Tuesday. We didn't have to wait. We were greeted by great customer service . We were told straight out that there was a $130 fee to get seen. They took Bailey to one of the rooms and a vet tech took a temperature - which was high. Bailey was taken to the back and after several minutes the Dr came in and broke everything down. She even told us our options and explained what was necessary and what wasn't so necessary. The vet tech came in with her iPad and explained the pricing- absolutely no pressure and we were given the low price and the high price. We agreed on a treatment and they did their job. We left but the Dr called us a couple hours later to update us. We went back at 430 am to pick you Bailey. I was expecting to be charged the high price but nope! It was the low price. They refunded some of the deposit I put down. Bailey is doing so much better! 1. There were no surprise charges, everything was discussed prior to treatment 2. The place was clean! The staff was very friendly and professional. 3. The Dr was great! I will definitely use this animal hospital in the future.

I came in 2 hours ago and there was 3 people in front of us and we still haven't been helped and on top of that after reading the reviews I do not think it's okay for the manager to put patients pets records as responses I'm not taking away freedom of speech but I would assume pet patient information is confidential I would not recommend this facility unless it's really a dire emergency and all pet vets are closed and beware they don't accept pet assure i explained to the ladies at the front desk that my cat could possibly be paralyzed because his legs were dragging and we waited about 2 hours and even tho there wasn't anyone ahead of us 2 more people showed up and one of them had immediate veterinary care is my cat not as important as the animal behind us? I change my mind I don't not recommend this location unless you're pet doesn't need immediate care

They discharged my cat saying he was okay to just be transferred to the vet to be on iv fluids for one more day. I get to the vet and his bladder was still obstructed and they recommend surgery, they assigned a specialist in Tustin, CA with the option of just me taking him there so I wouldn't pay any more fees at the vet since the specialist would be rerunning the same test and they didn't want me to pay double. I arrived at VSSOC and they did lab work that was off the charts and not looking good, they were very concerned that the clinic discharged him and said he was doing much better. Turns out the catheter the clinic put in him was too long and preventing his bladder to drain properly and should have been checked to see if it was properly placed. I will not be coming here again for any emergencies for any of my pets in the future. The is lack of attentiveness and proper care is unbelievable.

WORST WORST place to come We were here before they open ( 4 place on the list ), we wait for 3 hrs and 15 min. And nothing I asked why we were waiting so long the lady at the front desk said that the Dr was coming that she was doing the paperwork for another dog and we were next mmm not we wait for another hour I asked again and she said that we were waiting because they are taking another dogs sicker than mine mine was with fever, she was sleeping for more than 24 hrs straight, she couldn't move her leg, she ate one time a little bit and drank water a little bit too, we saw a lot of dogs walking and better than my dog and they were first. When I asked the last time another dog come for urgency too ( surgery need it ) so it was worst, I told her so now I have to wait like 4 more hrs and she say YES, I was on my mind if I don't ask how much longer do I have to wait I can be here 24 hrs. and they don't say anything I CAN BELIEVE IT, at the and we left this clinic and my dog still worse with fever and she's not moving. This people doesn't have to work on this places, they need training and learn how to comunícate with customers. HATE THIS PLACE

I have been coming here for years with all my dogs but the one time I bring my cat I had a horrible visit. My cat was wheezing and having a hard time breathing which isn't normal for her. She is an indoor cat and never goes outside, so the whole trip was a little stressful for her. I called ahead of time to let them know that I was coming, thought it would be helpful. I get there and check in, the front desk people are very short and not at all considerate with clients especially clients who are going through a scary time. I paid up front which was a little weird to me normally you don't pay till after everything is done, didn't think much of it; but $130 for a visit is insane to me. After checking in they told me to wait I waited and was brought back 15 minutes later... then waited another 10 minutes for the vet. Dr. Rios was the vet that helped me, if you can say that. She was very rude and not polite, and harsh with her words. I know my stuff my mom was a vet assistant for 6 years, I'm in the medical field and I breed dogs so I'm very familiar with animals. To start off with she barely touched my cat and asked some of what her symptoms included after that she told me someone would be in to discuss prices. I waited another 10 minutes, so far a total of 35 minutes before my pet was even fully evaluated and checked on?!? What if this was a life and death situation this is UNACCEPTABLE!! She wanted to run tests that I didn't think my cat needed at all and it turns out I was 100% right. After I pushed for her to take the temperature of my cat, I then decided to go ahead and do an x-ray. They just wanted to push all these tests before even doing a physical exam, that's not okay at all. The x-ray was clear which is why I didn't want to do it in the first place, clearly they don't like when you ask too many questions because then they start talking to you like your dumb. IF YOU COME HERE MAKE SURE YOU ARE ASKING QUESTIONS! If not they will milk you for your money by running every test in the book. They tired to push a sedative, why would you push for a sedative for an animal that is having a hard time breathing as it is?? Literally think about that!! After the x-ray she showed me the results and they were clear; gave my cat a steroid shot and some antibiotics, which is what I asked for in the beginning but whatever. I HAD TO WAIT IN THE EXAM ROOM FOR 45 MINUTES!! I finally opened up the door at 20 minutes but no one was in the lobby, finally someone came at the 45 minute mark and said she could handle the paperwork. I was very annoyed, I asked her why I was in there for 45 minutes and she said someone's cat was passing, and I was very understanding of that but she was acting like there weren't 10 other people in the back, I could all hear them back there talking and laughing. The manger should feel ashamed of her staff and really think about who she's hiring. You are losing business because of the workers you employ. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DON'T BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WAIT, AND IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR EVERY TEST THAT ISN'T NECESSARY. Walked away paying $400 when I only needed a steroid and some antibiotics. The doctor also guilt tripped me and said if I don't run these test my cat could die tonight. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!

I have a kitten who was recently spayed at a free mobile clinic. A week later I noticed her incision looked infected. I rushed her to a local vet (not this one). They told she needed a $2000 dollar surgery to repair it. There was NO way I would have been able to pay that. I rushed over to this emergency vet right afterwards in hopes they would be more affordable. Not only were they affordable they said my kitten did not need surgery and just needed antibiotics. I believe I was being scammed at the last vet. This my first time going to this emergency vet and I definitely will be going there again if any of my pets have a problem. I highly recommend!!

I will never use this facility again. My impression of Animal Emergency Clinic is that they try to bleed as much money from you as they can, make you wait without checking on you or letting you know why there is a delay, and punitively make you wait if you refuse to follow their expensive recommendations. We brought our 12-year old dog to this ER at about 8:30 Saturday night as we weren't sure what was wrong with her and were afraid to wait until the appointment we had already scheduled with our regular vet for Monday. We waited in a cold room with hard chairs for two hours even though we were told only one animal was ahead of us. I went to the car to get a blanket for my dog to lay on. I finally asked why it was taking so long and was told "an emergency came in and one of the doctors was in surgery." (I guess the other doctor was taking a really long time with the dog ahead of us?) Shortly after, Dr. Hilvy Cheung came in and attended to us. We asked for her recommendations with costs in order to make a decision on treatment as our dog is at the end of her expected life span. Based on the options, we decided xrays would be the least invasive and most informative option. So they took our dog back for xrays. Over an hour later, we still did not have our dog back, so I asked the front desk what was taking so long. Shortly after, the Dr came in with a syringe of fluid she had extracted and said she recommended that she remove as much fluid as she could, sedate the dog, and keep her overnight for observation (it cost $75 for that one syringe extraction, btw). We said no, we would take our dog home and decide what we wanted to do. Dr Cheung threatened us that we would have to sign an AMA form for them to release her against their medical advice and that she would be calling the city to do a welfare check on our dog... because we were not willing to leave our dog and pay over a thousand dollars for a temporary treatment, or let her put our dog down right then??? I WILL credit Dr Cheung with a thorough and accurate evaluation of our dog's condition, though, even though her approach to us was offensive and accusatory. I told her that I would sign the papers and never use their facility again. We waited another 25 minutes for her to bring the form to sign, and I finally went to the front desk AGAIN to have one of the assistants pull it up on her Ipad. While at the desk, I watched them trying to guilt another client to pay $65 for a 24hr pain shot for their dog even though they already had a bottle of pain meds in hand for him. We finally got our dog back at 12:30 am. She walked out, jumped in the truck and we took her home. There was no way I would leave her alone or put her down in that place with those uncaring strangers (and an incessently yapping dog for a roomate)!! I resent the implication that we didn't have the best interest of our dog in mind, especially when we spent 4 hours on a Saturday night and over $400 trying to find out what was wrong and get a prognosis! Sure enough, the dog equivalent of CPA showed up on Monday morning... our dog barked and had to be held back at the door as the very kind evaluator admitted that the dog was alert and not showing distress. [Unfortunately, we made the difficult decision to put her down later that morning at our scheduled appointment with the very caring Dr. Nicole Bogh at the 4.2-Star (I'd give it 5) rated VCA Northside Animal Hospital in SB as her prognosis was confirmed bleak and there was no cure. Our sweet pup kissed all of the workers there who had all petted her and given her treats before her passing.]

Absolutely amazing attentive staff. And they weren't even mad at me when I forgot my child.
