DO NOT waste your time! Unethical practices! We don't want this to happen to other people. Here is a summary of the countless issues we have had with Eric Pathe at Wells Fargo while working on a home loan for a new house we are purchasing... Initially, I was cold called by Eric, gave him my full scenario with credit score, loan amount, purchase price, credit history, etc. and he assured me he could get me 3.375% on a 30 year fixed. Never did he tell me that he was getting to this rate by quoting me a higher credit score and by having $500k in the bank with Wells Fargo. Neither of which I had. Mind you, we already had a loan in place with another lender but thought I'd give him a shot. I was told that my appraisal would NOT be ordered until I gave the go ahead. I wanted to wait for a loan approval. I was told that my credit card would be charged but that the appraisal would be put on hold and if we didn't get an approval, I would be refunded. That didn't happen either, the appraisal was ordered and completed. My realtor took time out of his day to let this person in, and the seller agent got pissed off because he was being contacted by two different lenders for two different appraisals. Eric claimed he had "connections" internally at Wells Fargo and that he would try to get Loan Officer representing the buyers of our current house to help close early. He took it upon himself to call the buyers agent to try to coordinate an early close, when this is not what we understood the strategy to be. Our realtor could have done this, that's his relationship. This pissed off the agent, who then called my agent complaining. Who was also pissed off, AGAIN. Just recently, Eric told us that our rate was actually 3.75% based on our current credit score and LTV, etc. which was completely off from 3.375%. He said that was the best he could do with our current situation. THEN I get an automated email from Wells saying we needed to put down an additional $36k. I called his assistant, who said Eric said he discussed this with us. NOPE! So, I called Eric to address this and his response was that he was "frustrated" with a very combative tone. I've been in sales most of my life, and I would NEVER speak to a customer the way he spoke to me. You don't complain to customers, period. He took zero accountability for any of his lies or misrepresentation. Unprofessional, doesn't even begin to explain the experience we have had with Eric and Wells Fargo. I didn't even go in to all the times he would say "we'll have an answer for you in 10 minutes, or by the end of the day" and never hear from him again. Needless to say, we canceled our loan with Wells. I informed his manager Morgan Fine, to get our "promised" refund of our appraisal, and guess what?? Surprise - he didn't honor that either! I would have been way better off, and way less stressed had we never went down this rabbit hole. I spent countless hours providing paperwork, making calls, responding to emails, etc all for them to just keep money on a appraisal I didn't even need.

I haven't always been a huge fan of Wells Fargo, but I would like to sing the praises of Morgan Fine. I am a realtor and recently sold a property in Laguna Beach that was over 2 million dollars. After the client nearly lost the house due to his portfolio lender completely blowing what should have been an easy loan to approve, Morgan Fine stepped in. He was efficient, accessible, and delivered what he promised to the client. He was able to pick up the deal 23 DAYS INTO THE ESCROW and closed on time. I would not have believed it had I not seen it. Don't hesitate to use him. It appears he is out of the Huntington Beach office that is on Magnolia. Completely awesome job from start to finish with zero drama.

Sorry to disagree with everyone else, but we arrived in the US only 8 months ago, eager to start our new life here and buy a home. Except everyone then told me it couldn`t be done, and that we needed to file two years worth of tax returns etc etc. Well, I asked around and finally got led to Morgan, who made it happen. We are closing in a few days and I could not be more grateful to him and to Wells Fargo for making our dream a reality. He knew exactly the right questions to ask and the right people to go to and he made the impossible happen. Very happy!

Lorena Rodriguez is the worst agent to deal with. After wasting my time with the application process and providing every info possible that they needed she never called me back untill I finally caught her at her desk more than a week later. She gad no excuse for responding to my calls or email. After that conversation I was told I needed to provide more info which wasn't a problem. The problem was I had to hunt her down to find that out. After a month of nothing the branch manager gets a call and here we go again for more wasting of time. I guess when you have a Liam with wells and you go through them to get a better rate they don't seem to care about servicing you. I went elsewhere and am saving a lot more money and time then dealing with these people.

They're nice people and all, but when they say "We're a direct lender so we can give you the better rates than any agent." It's probably true, but they won't actually give you those better rates. They'll give you rates a quarter percent or more higher. They'll likely charge you more to close. Then defying all logic, after you've gone through a loan agent who got you a better rate and charged you lower fees you'll get a letter informing you that Wells Fargo bought your loan. From that point on, they're really quite a nice bank to have manage your loan. This review is just for those people who haven't heard the spiel yet. By all means, get a quote, but then shop around.
