On time for the appointment, waited over 30 minutes to see Vet (Caitlyn Sullivan) for a routine appointment. She immediately went to hard sell for additional vaccines/services without even examining my dog yet. I told her to email me the estimates for my review. She said I had to decide on the spot or the estimate goes away lol. Just a bad salesperson and experience overall.

I was skeptic taking my dog to a chain veterinarian, but boy, am I glad I did..
People were super friendly, and you can tell that they honestly love what they do
My dog developed an infection that needed serious medication. One week later, he is happy and back to his old self thanks to his new vet, Sara Thelen ... I can't say enough nice things about her... she let me know all my options for taking care of my dog, including having to write a prescription to go somewhere else for cheaper medication if I need it
I did not as their prices are very reasonable
100% I am done with the local Boutique veterinarians who seemed to prioritize money over beloved pets
Anyway highly recommended

I recently had a fantastic experience at Petco’s Vet Hospital in La Mesa. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. Dr. was thorough and took the time to explain my pet's treatment plan in detail, making sure I felt comfortable and informed. The veterinary technician was gentle and kind, handling my pet with great care. Receptionist made the check-in and check-out process smooth and efficient. The facility was clean and well-maintained. Overall, the team provided exceptional service and genuinely cared about my dog’s well-being. I highly recommend Petco’s Vet Hospital in La Mesa!

Staff was friendly and caring to my dog Daisy. Vet was clean. Her appointment was very quick and the Veterinarian was very gentle and kind. I’ll be coming back for sure. Thank you all!!

I scheduled an appointment online for my cat to have his annual checkup & when I got there they said its a vaccination clinic only, which is odd since they emailed me a free vet exam coupon. Also, the entrance was crowded with dogs and their owners since the waiting area was way too small & this made my cat very nervous. When we tried to check in, the employees said that its closing time and they don’t know why the website allowed me to make an appointment at that time. In other words, my cat was not able to be seen & I wasted time and gas for nothing.

If I could give zero stars I would. I booked the appointment for my cat who has worms. I spoke with the doctors via the secretary who understood the situation. They said they were able to see my cat the following day. I received a phone call morning of, to confirm my appt. I showed up 30 minutes early, the sat there for 30 minutes until someone told me they were closed and wouldn't see us at all. I called the phone number to discuss the poor service and they said they left me a voice-mail asking to reschedule, even though that morning they confirmed the appt with me. I asked for a free vet visit due to their poor service and our wasted time and gas. (This is something they offer to all kittens and puppies under 6 months, anyway). I was told to just reschedule. I asked if I could email the manager and was told to just reschedule. Absolutely the worst service I've received from a veterinarian. I won't return. VCA Veterinary is waaaaaaaay better and has locations all over southern California. I suggest you take your business elsewhere, as am I.

Made an appointment to get my dog a health certificate to fly. Made this appointment over the phone and made it very clear what I needed and that I was on a deadline. The Vetco made it very clear the doctor was in and would be able to do this. Vetco called me this morning cancelling my appointment telling me that there would be no Dr in to do these health certs until Thursday or Friday. Ok, so why are you continuing to make appointments? I now have 24 hours to find somewhere to get this done after not ONE but TWO separate Vetcos fumbled my appointments and are potentially ruining all my travel plans. I have a suggestion that maybe you check the schedule before you make appointments instead of regularly and consistently letting down your customers.

Poor management , arrived within 2 minutes of appointment and they opted to close while I was checking in.Guy at front desk had none of the appointment info and I had to repeat my phone number 4 times before they finally closed the clinic early refusing service.At that point just make it self service rather than hiring semi literate people with no work ethic. I have no idea why they even have appointments that staff has no intent to complete.

I often prefer to come here than my regular vet due to the fact that with VETCO you can schedule same day appointments online! I can always count on VETCO to help me when I need it most. Staff is always friendly, quick, & extremely helpful.
