Hard to find an honest repair shop, let alone honest people these days and AK Auto has both! I went to the dealership and received a quote that was more than double what Tony offered.

Very pleased…We just picked up our fully fixed 2011 BMW from Tony’s shop! We had it towed to him where it wouldn’t start, but AAA said the battery showed power. Hmmm…Using his knowledge, expertise and patience, Tony was able to locate the problem and fix it…… not an easy task…
Just a note… there was a Massarati in the bay getting some attention when we picked up our car…. !
Tony cares about his work and the customer….We’re glad we got Tony’s name from a friend and I want to pass that on…

Tony of A-K Auto is an amazing mechanic. I've struggled getting my old car ('96 Geo Tracker) to pass smog. I've taken it to other shops and they give up, give ridiculous suggestions like I need a new engine, then take my money. Tony went the extra mile and took the time to diagnose and repair my car's complicated smog issues. His depth of knowledge is extremely impressive. Tony is a guru of smog repair. If you have a car that nobody can figure out, take it to Tony. He loves a challenge and I definitely gave him one. I am extremely grateful for his help because this was my last attempt at CA smog for the car. I was going to be forced to junk it or sell out of state. Thank goodness Tony was able to figure out how to get it repaired to pass smog with flying colors. The care has 160K miles and it now runs smooth as new.

A-K Auto Repair did a great job replacing the bumper cover and lights on my Prius after a minor collision. They were very reasonably priced and performed the work quickly so that I had my car back earlier than anticipated. I could not be happier with their work.

Tony was recommended to me by a friend. My mother in law has 2015 Nissan Sentra that had a A/C leak. The first time we took it. Which was right before fall started in 2022. Charged us $180 to diagnose and charge up with free on. Once the cold weather started obviously didn't need the A/C. About a month ago. The Nissan was not blowing cold air again. Brought it back to him as we thought that he was going to be an honest mechanic. He did the same thing and said he found a small leak in the core valve. Recharged it and added dye in it. Charged another $180 as well. And told us that if it leaked in the next couple of weeks or so. To bring it back. Of course it leaked. Then this is where it started getting sketch. His body language made it seem like he didn't really want to work on it anymore. We brought it back again. And then he said, "ok. Leave it for a day. Let me trouble shoot it and find the leak". He couldn't find the leak. And suggested that the leak was coming from the heater core inside the dash. Told us he was going to charge $900 to just remove the dash. Because his mechanic didn't have time to do it. Understandable. He didn't want to do bitch work. I get it. I told him I was mechanically inclined. And that I could remove it. He did say that if I removed the complete front dashboard that it would make his job a lot easier to repair it. He also said if I was able to find the leak my self. To fix it and he would only charge us again for refrigerant refill. As I don't have the gauges or Robin Air to refill an A/C system. Another $180 of course is what he charged us. I removed the entire dash board over the weekend. Bought a UV light myself to try to find the leak my self. Of course I didn't see anything. Brought it to him this morning. Completely torn apart and says " I will not work on that!" Honestly, he is a real POS! I think he was just bothered at the fact that he didn't think I was actually going to take it apart. I will never recommend his business to anyone. Just a little FYI. The one friend that recommended me this POS. Just happened to tell me the night before not to go to him anymore. I honestly thought he was wrong until I saw it with my own eyes. Tony! Your garbage guy.

Tony replaced the gas pump and filter in my 2004 Honda Civic for half the price Irvine Honda offered. If I need another repair, he's no. 1 on my list.
