Went in looking for a specific shoe and to get sized. The poor kid behind the counter was pretty much useless he did his job well but I'm pretty sure his job is too get shoes from the back and be friendly... Again hey was great as far as finding the show they had one left wing color won't size in correct box with size and color labeled.

Was excited to get my first pair of Birkenstocks! A few friends told me that there was a store in La Mesa. I stopped in and was very disappointed. The service was lousy... the woman working just said they didn't have my size in the ones I picked out without checking and bringing out what they did have. I told her I didn't know my size because of them being in Euro sizes but wasn't offered any help, options, choices. Very low energy and dissmissive vibes. I won't ever be going back there. I'll be getting birks from Journeys in the mall instead. They are usually much more helpful!

I just wanted to come on here to share my AMAZING experience ive had with Sarah. Sarah has helped me on two separate occasions. I was buying birkenstock clogs for my partner and had called the store to see availability for the color and size I was looking for. They thankfully had them and I asked if they can set them aside. She mentioned due to policy she wasnt able to hold anything aside for me but gave me the store hours and said I can always call back to see if they were still in stock. I called back the same day at 5:40 PM and said I was on my way for the clogs. (I reminded her about our call earlier that day). Thankfully when I arrived at the store Sarah had the clogs at the counter while she was brushing the suede and boxing them. She made my overall experience extremely fast and I was outta there in no time.Days later I called because my partners foot fitted funny in the clog. I called to see if we can do a size exchange and sarah reassured me I was able if I wanted to. But she asked me questions on why i needed a size exchange and she quickly explained that as long as I can fit a pinky in the back everything is fine and eventually the footbed will mold to his foot. All this saved us the trouble from coming into the store and making a exchange. She couldve easily given me a generic response but she took the time to look up my purchase using the code on the box and explain the functions of the shoe. She was extremely helpful on the phone and in person. If its your first time shopping at Birkenstock I would ask for Sarah as she will take the time to make sure you are a satisfied customer.

Great shoe selections, but some employees have no idea what they are doing. I mean, they even bring you the wrong shoe style, and you have to correct it every time they come back. Not all employees, just one.

I had a great experience with two of the Birkenstock of San Diego stores: the Old Town location and Sole Concepts - Gaslamp. I live out of the area and was on a quest for Ugg Tasmans, which are ridiculously hard to get right now. I searched every store in Humboldt County and all the major online retailers, which are sold out. After learning that my local store wouldn't be able to get a pair from Ugg until June 2024, I went back to the internet in desperation. I found these stores online. The Old Town store did not have the Tasmans in my size/color in stock, but they were very friendly and directed me to Sole Concepts, which did have them. I called and was able to get their last pair shipped to me. The person who helped me was so friendly and commiserated with me about how silly this trend is and why are these shoes so hard to get?? Hopefully my daughter is as grateful for the shoes as I am grateful for this great service. If I lived in San Diego, this would be my local shoe shop. If you live in San Diego, you should go there!
