I was in line watching an older woman, (well over 60 years of age), attempting to buy some wine. She was told by the associate that she needed her I.D. in order to complete the purchase. Maria was the clerk in question. I watched as the woman was quite put off at the request. Maria, instead of completing the woman’s purchase, told her she would not allow the purchase without a valid I.D. A manager was called and the I.D. request was superseded by manager approval. All this problem held up the line for quite a while. Customer service is tantamount in situations like this. The woman was CLEARLY over 21. Rite Aid needs to solve this problem. I.D. be damned when a person is clearly of age.

A typical corporate store. Despite only having a skeleton crew, I can not complain about the service. The stock on the shelves was pretty spotty. Many empty shelves. It is almost as if the building is too big for their business. This place was nothing special, and driving there is a hot mess. You can barely see the shopping center, and it is like taking one big, never-ending u-turn to get in the parking lot. It is not a great location, and if I did not use Google maps, I would have driven right past it.A decent store. Nothing special.

My problem is that I tried to call the store to find out about having my prescription's moved to another pharmacy. Of course, even though you open at nine, nobody answers the phone. I tried several times and it just kept putting me back to the recorded message. My pharmacy on Homestead road has closed, and I got no notification as to exactly when they were closing. Had I known I would have gone there to get my prescriptions transferred, Since I can't get the answer to the phone because they're too busy with flling prescriptions or giving vaccinations, I have to physically find your location and drive over there to get service. I know you don't hire enough people to satisfy customer needs, but that's your problem and it's now become my problem. I am not happy.

Pharmacist refused to fill my prescription, saying that they don't allow the dosing which my doctor knows that I need. Interfering with the doctor-patient relationship.

Very convenient location and usually a short line.

Is this store closing? The shelves are empty. I went in to buy 12 items and not one of them was in stock. The whole store looked neglected and disorganized. If they are having problems with supply chain and deliveries, they should post an apology sign to customers on the front doors and their website. It is bad customer service to waste people’s time.

Worst customer service. Couldn't even match the price on their own website during a walk in purchase.

To my knowledge, Jamie is still the Pharmacy Manager, and she is a real professional. Most of the staff are responsive and helpful. I've had some issues with a person there lately...MORE THAN ONCE. My MD tells me a new prescription was phoned in. I wait for the usual, prompt, text and call from the store do confirm the Rx is ready. Crickets. 3-4 days later I call RiteAid to check. The clerk/associate claimed my birthdate was given wrong, so the Rx was not processed. I asked if she/they communicated that with the MD...or even me. No. Well then, how are we supposed to know there is an issue, I asked in an even voice? No response. So I am left to contact my MD to ensure she got my DOB right on the Rx request...once I call RiteAid to find out there is a problem? Yes. Ultimately, I capitulate...without a nasty tone. The RiteAid person hangs up without so much as a, "Bye." My MD verifies that she DID give my correct DOB to RiteAid, and she adds, "Welcome to my world." She submits the Rx request again...same information. Success...but with some delay and agro. After 20+ years working with this RiteAid, I'm considering moving to Walgreens. Some other family members have already done that.

I had such a great experience at RiteAid on Homestead Road in Los Altos. I had had a rough day and was finishing off the afternoon with errands and the clerk was so kind and helpful as I was checking out! I had just come from Kaiser after a checkup after I just had cataract surgery and have trouble seeing and the gentleman “Dou* helping me check out didn’t rush me. Thankfully, there was no one behind me in line, but having trouble seeing is rough. One of the reasons I really like this Rite Aid in particular, is the kindness I see in the people who work there.

So frustrated....We have been coming here for 30 years and have always been so happy.... until recently. I was told they didn't have my rx, i called my dr. who re-sent it ... got a call or was ready.. went to pick up and was told it had been returned to stock since i never picked up... they gave it to someone else and now they can't get the med. JAMIE was so rude. Cut me off....i am done here unless there is someone to deal with.

I have been a customer for so many years, and the quality of service has gone down. I had a Covid vaccine appointment, so I went to get it. I was told that the fridge broke down and they can not give me the vaccine. I understand that these things happen, but why didn’t they have the courtesy to call me and notify me. I had to go to Santa Clara which is far from me and had to wait for a longtime. This is very unprofessional. I have spent thousands of dollars at this pharmacy. I am going to switch my medications to a pharmacy that respects my time.

Went to rite aid for covid booster, was told to go nline to schdule. Online it showed available vaccine at this location (los altos) but did not allow scheduing appt. Tried to call the listed phone, but the phone didn't work: steady beep sound. So there's no way to get vaccine even when on their website it says vaccine is available at this site.

I had two prescriptions authorized by my doctor. I understand ambien is a controlled substance and the pharmacy can't just hand it out. As I previously mentioned, my doctor had increased my dose of ambien as well as another medication. I was told by the pharmacist that she could not fill either prescription, one due to the controlled substance laws and one due to the fact that my insurance wouldn't cover the cost for 4 more days. I was extremely frustrated and had to ask her if I could pay out of pocket for the meds my insurance wasn't going to cover. She then asked me if I wanted her to call my psychiatrist and get the meds authorized. So basically, she was asking me if she should do her job. I replied yes. I reached out to the doctor and he sorted things out on the phone. She also told me that she had a lot of other people waiting. That wasn't my problem. My problem was that someone working in a retail store wouldn't help me and was denying me the meds prescribed. I understand her job isn't easy but I'm not well. I need my meds. On top of that, I was made to feel like I was wasting her time and also trying to pull one over on the system. I understand the regulations but this situation wasn't handled correctly. So yes, call the doctor. Do the job you're paid for. She told me she was 'just doing her job'. Well, I feel like I had to force her to do her job. Authorize my meds from the specialist who prescribed them to me for my health. And stop being rude to paying customers who need your help. You weren't helpful, lady.Products used:I used the meds the doctor told the pharmacy to give me. After I had to campaign and go to great lengths to get them.

On top of all this...your average customer is 80 years old at this location. Don't alienate someone younger or your customer base will be gone. I was worried with all your closures that the Los Altos store would close. Now I say go right ahead. I'll argue with a different pharmacist at a different chain next time. Products used:I used the meds the doctor told the pharmacy to give me. After I had to campaign and go to great lengths to get them.DO BETTER.
