The go to spot for DIY projects.A staple in the community. You don't have to ask for help generally they approach you to see if you need assistance. And when you do look for help they don't look away or call someone else to help you, not like those Depot stores.

I can't tell you about the hardware aspect of the store besides there being different wood material and they offer to cut it for you, too. And dowels that will be great for plant support. I can speak a little more about the garden center as that was the focus of my 1st visit.General notes: there is a paid parking lot in the back of the store. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I asked if I could bring in my dog and they said yes and even offered her a little treat. They were having a 20% off sale on plants for a weekend and I stopped by for the first time.Their indoor selection of plants is small but good with your typical common indoor plants and not overly priced in ny opinion. At the time I went, there were your typical golden pothos, Dieffenbachias, and some rubber plants to name a few. I even spotted a gorgeous single queen pothos that I wish I would have snatched up now thinking of it.Next to the indoor plants is a shelf with some pots and what I liked most is very good prices on their terracotta pots of various sizes.Their outdoor garden selection wasn't huge but much bigger than their indoor selection. They have various succulents, Alocasias, Colocasias, ferns, cacti, flowers, and so on. They have a little bit of everything (1 or 2 pots of the same plants). The woman (I didn't get her name unfortunately but was very nice and gave me plant care advice) who was managing the garden section said the selections change from time to time. They also have large bags of soil - in-ground and all purpose soil is what I remember seeing.Overall, great store and friendly staff. Smaller than other other larger known hardware store but great place to check here first for what you need and support your local shop for your hardware and garden needs.

It's like call Mom and Papa hardware stores in your neighborhood.. it's clean, workers are eager to help, and you can buy things online and have them deliver at the store or at your home but you get better discount if they deliver it at the store.

Closing at 5 PM is just ridiculous. No one even gets off work until then. Thank god for Home Depot

The nicest staff!! I needed a new remote for my car key and really struggled changing it out. The cashier helped me and walked me through everything I needed even though it was just a tiny battery. Incredibly kind people and so grateful to have them in the neighborhood!

I've lived in Highland Park for a few years now, and let me tell you, there is no better hardware store and plant nursery than this. Keith in the garden center is the MAN. He is so knowledgeable and helped my roommate and I find the PERFECT plants for our home. We got an olive tree (now named Uncle Keith) and a pothos and a basil plant and he was simply the most helpful person I've encountered, as well as friendly and kind. We will never go anywhere for plants again tbh. Enjoy these pictures of our beautiful home!

I am a contractor and I try to go here as much as I can because its a neighborhood hardware store and they have almost everything you can think of but specially the people who work there are really nice and very helpful. This is one of the those oldie but goodie mom and pop style hardware stores which we should all support. We like our Amazon, but we would also like stores like this to stay open. So, I definitely recommend this place for so many reasons if you ever are looking to go to a hardware store, try to make this your first destination.

WARNING! This place is EXPENSIVE! A box of screws and anchors for $43.00 HOLY S**** I can see it being a little more expensive than HOME DEPOT or LOWE'S but $43.00 ? A similar box at HOME DEPOT is less than $20.00. I guess the hipsters have deep pockets and don't mind getting gouged for a simple box of hardware.

Found what I was looking for and at a great price. Parking is hard to find no thanks to all the gentrification and hipster restaurants
