They demand ID from everyone in your group if you buy wine. Not sure how they handle parents with their teens. Our local safeway only ids one person so we thought we'd be fine buying a bottle of wine with our groceries since we are on vacation but nope.

The Safeway on Santa Cruz Blvd in Los Gatos has taken a significant hit since Covid hit. This was a very nice store with well stocked shelves and great people. Lately the store has fallen into a total lack of stock. The people are still great but the shelves are bare. It reminds me of Frys before they went out of business. The people who control the ordering are not performing their jobs. I have been in many other Safeway stores and their shelves are fully stocked. The problem is with this store and not the entire chain.

Horrible!!! DO NOT BUY SALMON FROM HERE EVER!!! I bought salmon from the meat section worth $40 the moment I opened it it smelled sour & like ammonia the color was pale pink with some gray spots on it. I put it in the oven to make dinner it started foaming with a horrible foul smell I had to throw it away immediately. What a waste of $40 safeway your standards have gone down drastically what a shame!!! I'd rather switch to Whole Foods which is do much cleaner & better. I'm Truly disgusted with your meat quality.

Hey coincidentally there used to be an old Safeway in Novato that was also 470 on Ignacio Boulevard but then it relocated to a new shopping center on Nave Drive called Hamilton Marketplace in 2008 at 5720 Nave Drive and 470 Ignacio Boulevard opened up as Paradise Foods in 2009 but then became nugget markets in 2015images.app.goo.gl/sXrQkb…

I've never been to a grocery store with so much expired food ON the shelves. Yesterday there was bread, chicken and lettuce all on the shelf past the sell by date.... I only shop here out of convenience but the shelves are constantly under stocked and filled with items past the sell by date.

This is one of the cleanest Safeways that I have been to in a while, the carts are sanitized and the shelves are always well stocked. This location offers plenty of parking on the ground level and even has an underground structure to accommodate additional customers. It may be because this location is in a boujie area, but their employees are very friendly and super helpful. I'm used to Safeway employees just pointing to the general location of items, but here they actually escort you to the actual spots. Customers are kinda rude, but money will do that to you.

I went to Safeway Los Gatos today. I pay my items at the self service machine. I start scanning my items then the machine voice kept telling me to remove the items in the baggage. So I put my item in the other side of the machine and continue scanning. But the machine still telling me to remove it. So I called for help. I lady came and scan her ID. She asked me if I can all the items in my grocery bag. I said yes, so he left. So I continue to scan the last Item which is the cherries, that costs me 19 bucks.
Then I proceeds to pay it. After I pay and have my receipt, I Look at it and call back the lady to help cuz the other items didn’t registered? Then she start yelling at me. She said that she asked me if the items in the bag’s already scan? Which I answered her yes, because It’s true that I did scan it, but didn’t know it wasn’t ho through. So I told her that okay Im sorry I didn’t know, and just help me to do something so I can pay it. She brought me to the other machine and she start scanning it and she still mad.
When everything ready to pay. I put my card. Then something pop up on the screen and I cannot continue. The machine is little higher than me, so I can’t see what is it. So I asked her what is it! She lower it and said it’s questioner. She hit the number 10. Then I asked her oh.. is that a survey question? She said yes and I click cancel. So I told her NO.. you click the 10. What a liar! After she yell at me she think she deserves 10? Well it’s not about the survey for me it’s about how she handled the situations. I didn’t even realized how easy it is to solve. If I know that I will just to scan again the items that not registered the first time and pay it, I should do it myself and not bother her. But my brain didn’t work that time. My BAD!!

This is a very nice Safeway - staff for the most part is very friendly and outgoing, most everything I need is here. Excellent bakery dept, and nice produce. There are some specialty items I would like to see (would make it 5star) but those items are unique to me so all good. It makes me laugh that there a 1star ratings cuz they were out of something one time - seriously? - supply chain issue is no joke. Or the 1star about not being able to bring their dog into the star - umm... unless it's a service dog it's illegal. Grocery biz is tough so thanks for what you all do!

I went to this Safeway this morning I take my dog we me I usually do and no bady say anything today Maritza Arias came to me she as me to go out the store we my dog I'm very desapoint I live 3 minutes away from the store I don't see anything by door say no dog inside the store

What can you say about Safeway, I love Safeway I find everyday good deals they say it's expensive and yeah I can be since everything got raised up in price but I always seem to find sales prices that meet my challenge therefore it makes me happy to shop at the store not only is it convenient it's clean and I love the people that work there

I've seen this place go from a old nice small store to a completely renovated small grocery store. I lived just a few blocks away and this place always took really good care of me. I've lived or visited quite a few states and I can honestly say Safe way if one of the best grocery stores in the country. If you are local be sure to appreciate what you have. I now live in Tampa Bay and the main local chain store doesn't even begin to compare to Safeway.

I had an appointment for a flu shot today at the pharmacy. When I reached at that time, the pharmacist said there were no flu shots given that whole day as they were out, and they had called everyone who had an appointment that they were not giving any shots. This was shocking because only two hours ago my child got a flu shot at the same location. He referred me to another Safeway location on Union Ave. I questioned him whether he had given the flu shot or something else to my child, and then he said that was the last vial. The pharmacist lied flat out and didn't even apologize. Totally unacceptable behavior. Does the store manager know what's going on? That pharmacist should be fired right away. Avoid that pharmacy, there is no credibility about it.

I had to buy an alcoholic beverage for a customer while working Instacart. I go to the cash register and the Safeway employee asked for my ID and I give it to her, no issues at all. After she finished scanning my ID and checking out my groceries the employee then starts to lecture me (with a huge attitude in her voice) about how Anyone under the age of 35 years always needs to show ID at any store, etc. However, when the Safeway employee asked for my ID I willingly gave it to her and did not argue or say anything to deserve being lectured at. I then tell her that I gave her my ID already and thats it's not a big deal, it already done. The employee then starts yelling at me saying multiple hateful things such as "you YOUNGSTERS are all the same!" Etc. she kept yelling at me for reasons I am unsure why, I didn't deserve it because I had done/said nothing wrong. I then ask to see the manager because I don't like to be mistreated and yelled at. The manager then comes over, I try to explain to him that the employee was disrespectful and harassing me for no reason, but then HE STARTS ACCUSING ME instead! Insane. He wouldn't even hear me out, he would interrupt me as I try to explain him what happened and he says "so you're mad at her for asking for an ID?!" I tried to explain to him that her asking for ID was never an issue, just the fact that she started calling me names, harassing me, and lecturing me was out of line. He REPEATEDLY kept accusing me of "being mad that I was asked to show ID" as I try my best to explain. He wouldn't even hear me out. Eventually I had to just leave the store because he was so ignorant about the whole situation and making accusations and assumptions without even hearing my side of the story. The employees and management here are straight trash, I am unsure how people can treat others so poorly and think it's OK. Was such a horrible experience and feeling, no one should ever have to go through something like that. If I have ever done something wrong I will be the first to apologize for my mistakes, but I did nothing wrong and this was totally uncalled for and unprofessional. I will never buy anything from Safeway ever again.

Service is essentially nonexistent. Have waited in line for ages multiple times when shopping at this store. Don't know what the hell management is doing. For a neighborhood market, it sure does a poor job. When you're looking for help finding something, you can never find anyone. Everyone working there looks like they are depressed. Many times I just want to get the sheeit I need and get the phuck out. This place is so understaffed to the point it is pathetic.
