“This shop is a must stop whenever I’m in LA. As an avid thrifter in Detroit I can honestly saw this is my favorite shop, in LA or Detroit. The quality, prices and selection cannot be beat.”
“Incredible knowledgeable and helpful! Came by for advice on an art project and the owner was very kind and gave me free samples of cane webbing. Gems like Cane & Basket Supply Co are rare. I plan to come back!”
“Stars is a really fun place to browse and shop. The place is enormous. Any kind of antique or vintage item, you are likely to find in this store. You feel like a bona fide explorer as you wander around. There is an upstairs as well, but you have to be careful with the steep stairs as you go up and down. The 1000’s of items are many and varied, and you can find just about anything that is vintage in nature - knick knacks, clothes, shoes, books, jewelry, dishware, and on and on. Prices do vary greatly, though, so shop carefully. Enjoy!”
“Zach and Lori are the best in the business! I went in looking for an engagement ring and I couldn’t be happier. My fiancée is IN LOVE with her ring. It’s unique, stunning, and shines perfectly. Their hospitality and care they have for their customers/clients is amazing. I highly recommend R. Zach for your next jewelry purchase!”
“Phoned them the other week to see what prices thaey would pay for my silver. They gave me a fair price and I went in that day, asked Michael a bunch of questions and he was more then happy to answer and explain. Very transparent and fair. Glad to finally find a local gold and silver store.”
“Walking through the crowded aisles is like walking through that warehouse at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Whether or not you are looking for something in particular, you will find something here... Actually you will find many "somethings" as this place is a cornucopia of interesting items. Mid-century modern furniture seems to be in abundance, but turn of the century cuckoo clocks, lamps, and pretty much anything else you can imagine are yours to find; Just make sure you have a few hours to actually go through the isles, this is not a place for a cursory review. Staff is great. As for value... what is the value of a treasure?”
“The store itself is just beautiful. Everywhere you look, there’s something unique and beautifully crafted. The prices are very reasonable too! I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a one of a kind gift.
They also have your staples too. For example: I noticed a display with an assortment of colorful candles for only $1.50 each. I’ve seen some stores charge as much as $10 for the same thing! Little things like that make me more inclined to trust a business and return, which I definitely plan on doing soon!”
“Samuel literally has a showcase of the most beautiful rugs I have ever seen all under one roof. Samuel's Rug Gallery also provide services like repairs, cleaning, and maintenance. Fantastic service. To find authentic, luxury Persian rugs for a reasonable price is very rare. We bought two Persian rugs that transformed our home. I got a third rug for my office. It looks warm and rich with the dark office furniture, exactly what we wanted in our office space. We are thrilled.”
“This place is a rare gem! It is filled with beautiful wares in a wide range of prices. The owner is so kind and took so much time to gift wrap the items I bought. I highly recommend this store if you are looking for traditional Japanese pottery. There are very few places like this that exist anymore and I am so glad we stopped by!”
“Great stands, but also a lot of junk. Available clothing is not for classic style.
The atmosphere there is very pleasant and there are nice things to buy. It's worth being there before lunchtime, it gets very crowded in the afternoon.
Great food and drink offerings, including a live band
School toilets can be used
Parking is possible in the surrounding streets, but you need some patience”
“We brought in a heavily-tarnished Christofle Vertigo 3-Part Server that had been left outside for probably a year. Needless to say it was in desperate need of some professional TLC (or, in this case, CPR!) . Well, our guy Pablo took one look at it and said with supreme confidence that it would be ready in a week. Sure enough, one week later- presto-whamo- the piece looks as good as new. This shoebox-sized establishment has been in business since the early 60's and you can easily miss it as it's located on a busy intersection (Third & FFX) across the street from Trader Joes, but it's well worth seeking out. Heartily recommended.”
“Geoff Brookes is a master craftsman who belongs to a rare guild of artisans specializing in restoring damaged treasures. Whether it's a family heirloom, a priceless Asian vase, memorabilia from the Titanic, or a phenomenally heavy statue at a very public Memorial---he is called upon by clients here and abroad. He has restored numerous items for me back to a flawless state, all with full disclosure about the process, and takes time to answer all questions and to propose options. I trust his judgment and am grateful to know him and to call him friend.”
“Great outdoor market with free parking and $5 general entry. Plenty of vendors and you need about 2 hours see most of the benefits. There are food trucks here, portable restrooms, and leashed pets are allowed.”
“The COOLEST place in L.A. to see movie and television memorabilia! First of all, it’s amazing they even let you in the door and casually walk around this gigantic warehouse full to the brim with props from television and movie history. All is for rent, nothing is for sale, but prepare to have the time of your life just walking around and taking it all in! Wow! So much fun!”
“Michael helped me when other stores didn’t knew anything about my vintage gun. He answered all my questions and he is a very knowledgeable guy. I recommend this place 100 %”
“Villa Melrose Antiques is one of those rare spots that feels like stepping into a secret world tucked right into the heart of LA. I stopped by on a whim while walking down Melrose and ended up spending nearly an hour just wandering through the space. Every corner is packed with character—ornate mirrors, vintage lighting, mid-century pieces, and statement decor that somehow feels both curated and eclectic. The owner was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, taking the time to share the stories behind a few standout pieces without ever pressuring a sale. There’s a real sense of passion here, and it shows in the way everything is displayed—with care, style, and a love for craftsmanship. Whether you’re a serious collector or just love getting lost in beautiful objects, Villa Melrose is an experience worth having. I walked out with a small brass sculpture and already can’t wait to go back.”
“Cool little shop with a great (and varied) selection. I liked that there were a wide range of prices- felt like “something for everyone” (or anyone).Staff were friendly. Lots of stuff on sale when I was there.”

“Joel has the eye for things. He knows what will be collectibles in the near future. Solid design. Impressive collections. He is the designers source. Check out his bonsai collection!”
“This store is just Fantastic, very cool and interesting items to purchase in here. This store has a lot of laboratory equipment and machines that were used in a lot of films. The store owner is very knowledgeable about each prop. If the door seems to be locked, just knock and the store owner will let you in. I highly recommend stopping here. I'll definitely stop here again. I did buy an item here. On street parking is limited but, there is a paid parking lot one block over. Well worth the trip here.”
“Love this Antique mall, you can find wonderful high quality furniture and decorative pieces, superb jewelry and reasonably priced. I read reviews and I was surprised at others saying it was overpriced, it is not. also very nice help and free parking in the back.”
“Many antique items available in the shop. Reasonable price. It's not a museum. Shop closed every Saturday.
I didn't buy anything but had a positive/good conversation with the shop owner Solman. A soft spoken person we talked about his first India visit and stay at Taj Hotel Bombay.”
“Sally and her team are very welcoming. I've never seen so much records in one place before. Prices are fair, you could spend days searching and speaking with these passionates. Thanks for the records and kisses from France (remember Annecy ?)”
